Tesco Value Plastic Cups
Advantages: Cheap and cheerful, easy to wash and use
Disadvantages: Rim is a little thin, crack easily.
It's an absolute nightmare washing up after a party so to minimise wasting an evening cleaning mugs I highly recommend these cups, not to mention if it's a big party you probably won't have enough mugs or glasses to go round. When people drop these, they don't smash, so a lot safer than handing out glasses...
The cups come in a bag of 25 for 55p which works out at around 2p per cup, so good value for money. They're not that different from the sort of cups you find stacked up next to water coolers.
They're a bit thinner but they're not smaller and they come in a bag rather than a dispenser.
You will not be able to recycle any of this product, the bag has to be thrown away and the cups too but you can at least re use the cups.
Washing them up just requires a little more care as they will split if you push too much weight down on them. Gently rub around the inside and outside of the cup to get dirt and grease off, then job done they're ready to use again.
The cups do feel a little thin which means they're prone to cracking more, and I have had one cup crack already. You can crush one in your hand so avoid being heavy handed. Dropping them on the floor won't break them though.
These can also be used for arts and crafts, they are easy to cut up and bend so children can use their imagination to build stuff.
On top of being easy to wash and easy to use for crafts these are also easy to drink from, the rim isn't too small but is a little thin and doesn't go down the cup more than a few millimetres so i wouldn't bite down on it or try to sink your teeth in around the edge of the rim. They can and do split.
Overall these are great little cups, very practical, useful, reusable and excellent value for money at just 2p per cup (approximately, because I can't do decimals off the top of my head). These are useful for leaving by a water cooler or at a party and to save waste, i'd strongly recommend washing them up and re using them.
Summary: Keep these by a water cooler or at a party.
