Tesco Value Platters
Advantages: Cheap, hold food well
When it came to my daughters end of term party at her nursery before the school holidays everyone had a choice of what to take in. I put my name down for both carrot sticks and cucumber sticks. This meant I needed something to put them on to take them to nursery.
The Tesco Value platters are available to buy from Tesco stores either in store or online if you get your groceries that way. They cost £2.50 for a pack of five platters working out at 50p a platter.
The packaging is very basic but it's not anything out of the ordinary for a value product. The five platters are stacked on top of each other and wrapped in transparent cellophane with the Tesco value branding.
Each platter is easy enough to separate from the one below when you need to use one.
The platters are made from quite a thin foil but are still of a good size. The main body of the dish is oval in shape then the perimeter of the dish is slightly raised so that whatever food is on top of it can't go sliding off. At either end, the foil is in a more square shape so that it is easier to carry.
I piled one platter full of cucumber and carrot sticks and covered it in cling film, which clinged to the foil platter well. The platters handled being full of these sticks well and didn't bow in the middle. I've since used a couple more platters for sandwiches for my nans 70th birthday party and it held sandwiches well too. I've not put anything hot on the platters yet so not too sure how well they would cope with the heat but I imagine they would cope well.
The platters are ideal for any type of party, foods like sandwiches, cakes and sausage rolls would sit on them well as the raised edges stop anything from falling off. It's worth noting that once the platter is on the table and someone tries to take something off of it, it doesn't spin around or anything like some platters do.
I'd definitely recommend these Tesco Value platters, although part of the value range the quality is excellent and they are perfect for parties. I think they are well worth the money paid.
Summary: Lovely party food platters
