Advantages: So snuggly
Disadvantages: You can look a bit silly!
My sister bought me this a few years ago when due to a period of ill health I was fairly house bound for a number of months. I have always liked to have a blanket over me when lying on the sofa and this seemed like a blanket and dressing gown rolled into one.
The idea of it is that it is a large blanket to drape over you whilst relaxing at home on the sofa, but the difference with this is that it has arm holes in the blanket. It can look fairly amusing to see someone sitting in one for the first time but they are a fabulous idea. Mine is a dark red/maroon colour but you can also get them in other colours including blue and black. It is a soft material and although it is not very thick it does a good job with keeping you warm. You do look like you're wearing a large item of clothing back to front though!
The benefit of having 'arms' in the blanket is that you can read a book or hold the remote control or a cup of coffee without having to have your arms and the top of your body outside of a blanket you have round you. With this you can still do those things but have your arms all snug and covered up at the same time. The arms are longer than the average persons arm would be which means you can either roll them up slightly or have them down covering your hands as well. The length of the blanket is long enough to cover your legs and a bit more hanging over the end.
It has done well over the years and has not gone all 'bobbly' or shabby looking which is good.
These are available through Amazon for £29.99 although there are much cheaper versions under different brand names. I think this product should be cheaper than this retail price but you can opt for the cheaper brands if you want to. They are also available in Argos and places like Wilkinsons.
Summary: A great idea to keep warm and snuggly on the sofa.
