      5 stars

      My grandson is three years old and obsessed with this little character. Whenever he sees anything from this brand he is very excited so for his 3rd birthday we bought these napkins.

      Sometimes when you buy products made with a wel known character they can be of poor quality but I'm pleased to say that these are not like that and we were very pleased with the quality of them.
      In a packet you get 16 and they cost us £1.99 which is not a bad price to pay for something with a brand. Obviously you can buy napkins for much cheaper if you just buy plain ones but then then they wouldn't be as fun or please my grandson as much!

      The napkins are brightly coloured and show Thomas The Tank in all his glory. When my grandson saw these his little face lit up, he was clearly very pleased with them and it made me glad that we had paid a bit extra to get some napkins that were of his favourite character.

      They were very absorbent, just as much so as any other napkin that I have used before. They didn't break down when they began to soak up liquid, instead they remained in tact and soaked up well. They were also quite soft too so fine for wiping sticky fingers with and not at all rough on the skin. They were robust enough to wrap up birthday cake with too, without having to double them up like I have had to previously with cheaper ones.

      I am pleased with this and glad we bought them. You could find cheaper but then they wouldn't be as well appreciated by children. Very pleased so highly recommend them.

      great for the thomas parties

      The Thomas the Tank party collection includes plates, cups, napkins etc. The napkins come in various designs and come in a clear pack containing 16 napkins. Each napkin is 3 ply and these are ideal for picnics or putting on plates at a Thomas party.

      ===Design===

      As I said, the designs vary depending on which pack you purchase but every other aspect remains the same. The one shown in the picture is just one example. The pack we have offers a square napkin which can be folded out to reveal 4 squares within one huge paper napkin. The napkin is mainly blue with light blue stars across it. There is a border with Thomas puffing all the way around. These particular napkins feature a large James picture in the bottom right corner and also Thomas and Friends in a cloud of steam.

      ===Availability and Price===

      A 16pk can be purchased in Birthdays Party Land store, from Amazon and in stores such as Tesco. Expect to pay around £2.00.

      ===My Thoughts===

      As you all know, the weekend past was my sons 3rd birthday and I put on a Thomas themed party for him. I stocked up on all the party wear from this range for the kids attending and mainly stuck to cheaper stuff for the adults. I picked up 2 packs of 16 napkins at my local Wilkinsons a few months ago as they were reduced to 75p (they no longer sell them) and placed them out at the party.

      I am not one to worry about kids getting a bit mucky with chocolate and the likes but I think napkins make a plain paper plate look more presentable so I offered these to the adults and kids. They complimented the Thomas plates perfectly and many of the kids were excited seeing James on the napkins as opposed to Thomas..change is always good! The design is very cool and Ryan approved that James was looking nice!

      ===Clean Me Up===

      So these aren't the thickest but nor are they see through thin. The border has a slight nobbly feel like pocket tissues and despite not being a fan of the texture of paper, these feel ok to the touch. Mainly used for presentation, they were also used to clean any icing/chocolate off little faces (and my wee Granny who made some mess), wipe grubby hands and soak up small spills that occured throughout the day.

      Ultimately, these proved useful. They are soft yet durable and even with some pressure being used to remove marks, they remained together and didn't lose their design or tear. They didn't deal with major spills which I discovered as they aren't all that absorbent and I found I needed some strong kitchen roll as a back up. For wiping down faces after eating these were great though. We also had 2 boys with very runny noses and these napkins felt soft and scratch free against their sensitive skins and absorbed boogies well!

      ===Conclusion and Recommendation===

      These are certainly more attractive than a plain white napkin and fit in well with a Thomas party theme. They are quite large and substantial enough in terms of thickness for light cleaning up but don't expect too much of them. These are large enough to be spread out and placed over the front of a child at dinner if you want to keep the peace while eating but my son is very clean when eating so we never have the need for this.

      All in all, a very good set of napkins that we recommend to you all..thanks for reading :)
