Tipp-Ex Micro Tape Twist
Advantages: good product
I do really love my stationary products and strangely enough always have. This Tipp-Ex Micro Correction Tape is something I use both at home and at work and I must say that it is a pretty good product compared to the cheaper imitations.
I will be honest and say that the ones I use at home actually come from the stock room at work and I don't think I have actually purchased the item myself as I tend to take home ones that I have half used from my office drawer and then replace my desk one with a new one. The correction tapes are bought in bulk from the stationary suppliers and I would think that by buying that many there is a fair bit of saving to be made. However you would be looking at paying a little over the £3 region were you to buy one of these little items on its own.
The idea of the product is simple and it is basically like a dry tape version of the popular Tip-Ex. It is able to cover up mistakes made in pen or other permanent devices with a white strip which will adhere to the paper and allow you to write over the strip in pen straight away.
The look of the product is rather good and the Tipp-Ex Twist Correction Tape itself is housed within a see through blue plastic chunky pen type shaped case. You can clearly see through this casing how much of a roll you have left of the correction tape and this is handy to know how long until a new one is needed. The tip of the item has a flat nip like section which allows the tape inside to be fed over it. This is housed neatly inside a twist top lid that comes of quickly and easily and protects the nib inside. The nib needs to be pressed onto the paper where the mistake is to be covered over and a dragging movement will ensure the tape flows out and the product inside will cover the paper it has crossed. The design of this twist lid means that there is less complete drying out of the section of tape that is on the nib ready for use and also protects it from being based around in my office drawer.
It differs from the bottle liquid form of Tipp-Ex in many ways and is far superior in my opinion too. With this Tipp-Ex Twist correction tape it gives a clean neat strip of white on the page which looks far neater than blobbing on liquid Tipp-Ex which often gets sticky and gloopy not long after first opening and will inevitably make a mess on the paper page. Another bonus is that this tape is dry when it has been applied and unlike the liquid form of Tip Ex you do not need to wait around for it to dry and can instantly write over the top of it.
Occasionally the Correction Tape will not adhere properly to the paper or will come out patchy in places but I find this generally only happens when I get close to the end of the roll and I presume it has gotten a little dry with age and usually with another go of application it will sort itself out and not be a real big problem. There are around 8 meters of the tape in one of these little pen like gizmo's so I find that they do last a long time of course this depends on how many mistakes I make and what sort of work I am doing.
I find the pen comfortable to use and really not that much more different from the mouse like product that Tipp-Ex brought out before. It is smaller and a different shape although I am not entirely convinced that the twist lid on the product is really that much of an improvement.
All in all I will have to say that when needing to correct an item on any paper work be it at home or at work then this has got to be my product of choice (maybe because work supply them free). It is far superior to other correction types of products that are available and it is easy to use and mess free as well. It does have a few problems occasionally what with sections of the tape not flowing onto the paper and I think for this reason I will down mark it one star and so awarding a total of 4 out of 5 stars but still giving it a good recommendation.
I do hope that this has been of some help/interest to you
Many thanks for taking the time to read.
Summary: a good corrector
