WHAT IS IT?

A cushion and throw set from Sainsbury's. Mine is the teal colour but they are available in green and red.

THE THROW

The solid teal throw measures about 150cm x 150cm. It has got a fringe on two opposite edges and is a thin woven style. It has got a leafy pattern woven into it and looks very good when I lay it across the back of my large armchair.

THE CUSHION

The cushion is off white and has got a leafy floral design on both sides. The teal colour is lighter than on the throw and the cushion is not stuffed very well so is very thin and not comfortable to put behind my back when I am sitting down.

WHAT I THINK

This set only cost me £10 but that was when it was on special offer. I wouldn't pay more than that because the throw is very thin and the cushion is not very good quality. Both items can be washed in the washing machine but when I did this with the throw the colour faded quite badly and the fringe became all tangled. I think the cushion would get very flat if you washed that and the cover is not removable so it is only suitable for surface washing.

The throw is very disappointing because it is so thin and not soft at all, it's scratchy against my skin and is not a throw that I would like to cover myself up with when it's cold. The fringes started getting tangled up as soon as I used it once and after it had been washed the fabric went very thin in places and the colour was patchy.

I got this set to give to a friend but I kept it for myself after I found something better for her. I'm very glad I didn't give it to her because it is such poor quality that I would have been embarrassed, it comes with a ribbon holding the throw and cushion together and I think the ribbon is the best part of the set. I use the ribbon in my daughters hair and it is a beautiful emerald green colour and very strong.
