A few months ago my husband and I decided to go on a bit of a 'money diet'. We took a look at our finances and realised there were direct debits from our accounts for things that we no longer had the time or inclination to use. So long Lovefilm subscription! Farewell gym membership!

One evening, we decided to take the money diet a bit further and bought two tupperware lunch containers one Ebay. I only work two days a week and my canteen is subsidised, but even so it's still £3 a go. My husband, on the other hand, works in the city and lunch for him often tops £7. That's £1680 a year! Obviously the sandwich ingredients at home aren't free, but we still figued we'd make some huge savings by bringing our own sandwiches to work.

The Lunch n Things container is pretty good at what it does. You have a main section that comfortably fits one sandwich (or two, if you make them with thin bread and squash them down) or a couple of rolls. There is a section for a carton of juice (or biscuits, in my case) and two other sections for fruit or vegetable snacks (yep, those get used for biscuits too).

I find this lunch box plenty big enough for my lunch, and just about big enough for my husband's lunch (he has two rounds of sandwiches). I'm not sure how it would fare for a child's school packed lunch, as I don't think it would be big enough to fit the yoghurts and pots of hummus they're encouraged to take to school these days (it was all Kit Kats and packets of crisps when I was at school - much easier to fit in, and may also explain my sweet tooth!)

The plastic it is made from is pretty sturdy and the catch used to seal it is solid and not too fiddly to use. I've had mine for about three months or so now and it's still in good condition.

We bought our boxes on Ebay for a couple of pounds. I had a quick look on the internet and it looks like you can only get Tupperware products directly from the company and from Tupperware parties. I couldn't see this box listed on their website, so maybe your best bet would be getting a second hand one!
