Advantages: Cheap, good quality, easy to read
Disadvantages: Can run out a little faster than name brand highlighter
As a student it is essential I always have the right stationary on hand in case I need to jot down notes or underline and highlight important things I need to know for the exam. With my exams ever edging closer, I decided it was time to pop out and buy myself a set of highlights to aid with revision, and the show I happened to choose was WHSmith.
Previously I had always been a fan of the Stablio Boss range of highlighters, as they always seemed to work and just seemed appropriate. However, even though to some it may only seem a little, a pack of 4 highlighters of this brand can cost as much as £5 in my local shops, so I decided enough was enough, and I was being silly buying a name brand just for the sake of it.I purchased my pack of highlighters for just under £2 at an odd number like £1.79 if I recall correctly. This was an astounding bargain compared to the prices I usually adhere to.
The pack consists of, like you can probably guess, 4 highlighters in 4 colours: yellow, pink, green and orange. This is a bit more useful than the usual packs I buy as the tone of these pens is quite a bit lighter than usual, as often I find that once I've gone over texts, especially in darker colours like pink, it can be almost impossible to read what I've just highlighted!
This does mean however, that the pens are prone to drying out or at least running out a bit sooner than ordinary highlighters. However, I think that for the price, it is definitely worth buying as you could purchase as many as three times the amount as a single pack of Stablio Boss highlighter pens would cost.
There is a smaller area at the bottom of the pen that once you've taken off the lid you can pop the cap on, which is useful as I'm always losing lids of my pens and having to search my room for them (which is especially necessary with highlighters as without a cap they can dry out much faster).
Overall, this is a great product that I would definitely recommend, it works just as great as a well known product for a much cheaper, more reasonable price.
Summary: A great alternative to name brands that produces the same effect
