Advantages: good stapler, does what it needs to

Disadvantages: some might say £10 is a bit too much for a stapler

I bought this stapler when my old one that I had for about 5 years eventually broke when I dropped it on the tiled floor in my kitchen and the hinge that kept the staple drawer inside the stapler broke. Of course this isn't what should happen to a stapler, but accidents happen and it was necessary to purchase a new one.

I was very tempted to buy a cheaper one, thinking that it wouldn't matter if it didn't last very long given that I probably wouldn't use it very often, but I decided in the end that I would rather buy a better one that was larger and more substantial so that I wouldn't have to worry about how many sheets I was stapling at one time as it should be able to cope.

This stapler cost me about £10 a few months ago. I think it's currently in my local store for £9.99, so I would imagine that's about what I paid as well. It is black in colour and has 'whsmith' on the side of it in white text. It came with some staples in it already, which was a bonus because it meant that I didn't have to buy any at the time. I didn't need to purchase any more staples for a few weeks either, although I wouldn't say I use my stapler every day or anything. I probably use it a couple of times a week, just for stapling college work together, things like that.

As for the price of the staples to replace the ones in it initially, I believe they are sold for about £5 for 2000 staples, so I think that is really good as well. It means that you can replace the staples pretty much any time you want to without having to worry about running out, given the number you get for £5.

The stapler was good enough to staple about 8 sheets together without any real trouble, although I think any more than 10 sheets and it wouldn't staple all the way through, or the staples might look bent. The staples were very secure when I used it, and it was fairly difficult to get them out of the paper again. I think this is a very good stapler for £10, and I would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a stapler to buy for light use. I've not had any problems with it so far, and for £9.99 I would definitely buy it again if I was to need another one. As it currently stands though, it doesn't look like I'll be needing another one for some time!

Summary: good product, worth the money in my opinion
