Advantages: Easy to use, looks good, great price
Disadvantages: The black one above wouldnt allow you to see how many staples are left
A stapler is one of those things that every house needs but will very rarely by one. This is because although they are used often they seem to last forever.
I have had this stapler for at least 5 years. We bought it from WH Smith where we paid something like £3.99 for it, however of course this was some time ago so therefore the price is likely to have increased. However, looking on the website I can see that the exact stapler I have is being offered for the same price. In my opinion, £3.99 is very reasonable for a good quality stapler.
Mine is different to that shown above, as is the version you can still buy today. It is a clear plastic so it shows the inside mechanisms of the stapler. It has a slight blue tint to it and has a white WH Smith logo at the end. The stapler is around 5 inches long and is what I would call a regular sized stapler.
Of course, staplers are a way of keeping documents together sort of like a permanent paper clip. I use this stapler often and the staples that it takes are 26/6 which seem to be the most popular size and some are also provided with the stapler which is handy.
To use the stapler you simply feed your sheets of paper into the end and then press down on the stapler. It will dispense a staple and fix the pages together.
I have found that the stapler is easy to use. Some staplers in the past I have found stick or are quite hard to push down on but this is not the case with this stapler. It is simple to push down and it never ends up caught on the pages like I have found some staplers do. It secures my pages together with ease and it looks neat and tidy, the pages do not end up torn or with holes. The staple secures itself tightly and I never end up with that annoying bent staple look.
A pet hate of mine with staplers is when they get stuck and the staple gets stuck and you end up having to take the whole thing apart to get it to work again. This doesnt happen at all with this stapler, instead it seems to work perfectly pretty much all of the time.
If stapling lots together at the same time I can find that my hands begin to feel a bit sore from all of the pressing on the stapler but this doesnt give this problem and I have often sorted out a huge 3 month backlog of bank statements, credit card statements etc in one sitting.
The stapler is powerful and certainly out performs my mini stapler I have. It can easily staple together 10 sheets of thick paper but of course any large booklets you will need one of the heavy duty staplers.
The staples to fit this stapler are readily available. I have used all different kinds, even those that have been provided with other staplers and each have been easy to fit in the stapler and then have worked well. To replace the staples you simply pull the stapler and then insert them into the gap.
I have been using this stapler for at least 5 years. It is strong, durable and easy to use and it looks quite nice too. For the quality I was expecting it to have raised in price over recent years but it hasnt and therefore I think that it represents superb value for money.
