Advantages: Easy to use.

Disadvantages: Not keen on the smell!

It has been a while since I have bought this and I still have the first can that I bought so a little must go a long way!!
The original reason I purchased this is because I stupidly fell in love with a cream and black fabric suite for the living room, try as he might my hubby never managed to talk me out of it and we bought it!

Packaging ~

1001 Mousse comes in an aerosol type can, it is mainly yellow with blue writing. The top however is not a push button/spray nozzle type can but it has a brush for a head which is covered by a large blue opaque cap.

Usage ~

To use this you simply have to push the brush part down on the surface you want to clean, let the mousse come out, leave for a little while and then use the brush to massage the mousse in and the dirt out, when dry you need to vacuum it.

My thoughts ~

After buying the already mentioned cream and black suite which consisted of two rather large sofas and a pouffe, I wanted to keep it looking lovely. The back scatter cushions and seat covers were removable and washable unfortunately the rest was not.

At the time I only had three of my four children and the youngest at the times was about 14 months old. He was quite a sickly baby, constantly picking up colds and bugs that the other 2 would bring home from school and he loved to snuggle up on the sofa with his blankie for a cwtch. This didn't cause any problems when he was young but as he got older he would rest his bottle/beaker on the arm of the sofa which inevitably caused marks to form. My elder two boys would also rest biscuits/chocolate etc on the arms and after a while they started to look a little grubby.

I picked up a bottle of this 1001 Carpet and Upholstery Mousse in Asda for about £2 - £3 to give it a try.
I tested it first on the inside of the pouffe as this was the same material as the sofa and when that was fine and no harm was caused I was happy to try it on the arms of the sofa.
I did as directed and at first I didn't think it had made much difference but when it was dry I was pleased that the marks had almost completely vanished, the odd few that were still visible went after another go!
I must say through that I wasn't overly keen on the scent of this mousse, it's a strange sort of scent, like a powdery chemical smell but that does disappear over the following days.

Having also used it on my cream landing carpet after my son couldn't quite make the loo when he was sick I am pleased to say that it works well there too. At that time I was even glad of the strange scent!

So overall I am pleased with this as it does remove marks and stains, and it is easy enough to use.

Thanks for reading :o) x
