This is my must have cleaning product of all time.
I started using this by accident. I like to have a clean and fresh home but was very pregnant and shampooing the carpets just was not an option.
I scanned the shelves and came across this. The lazy person in me jumped for joy at the simple-ness of this product. I had a choice between spring fresh and summer fruits though I am not sure if that is just down to having a village supermarket.
It was literally as simple as hoovering as normal and spraying the foam spray down on the carpet. It does need a good shake to ensure it foams correctly. It soaks into the carpet in a matter of seconds and the smell lasts days.
My husband comments each time he walks in the door how pleasant it smells and homely it feels.
I recommend this product to everyone I meet - even in the supermarket! Even if I am feeling ill I know that a quick hoover and spray of this product and my house feels and smells clean. A must have product for the cleaning caddy.
This is an amazing product that i came to use about 3 weeks ago as my carpet at home started to smell a bit granny house'ish and i wanted to freshen it up. I have in the past used shake and vac but that did not last long at all, plus you have to get the vac out, and as you all know, if there is something that takes less time and effort, we are bound to try it. This is where this product comes in.
ALl you need to do is just hold it upside down and spray away directly onto carpets (and not just carpets but sofas, teddy bears (lol) and other fabrics) and watch these polystyrene like fluff balls spray everywhere that soak into the fabric and disappear within seconds leaving a wonderful fresh smell. Mind you i have sprayed it all over my partner for fun haha. But serious note, this is a product well worth getting for your home, its not expensive and unless ya want to get out your carpet cleaner, i would use this.
Admittingly when i first used it i thought it smelled like bubblegum haha, but after the initial spray the scent is wonderful. Its a great welcome into a room, and definatly when you have guests cause they always comment on how fresh it smells :), not that i am a dirty person though lol.
My family recently grew by two kittens . They're lovely little creatures, and generally very good about using the litter tray, but in the first few days they were here, there were a few nervous little accidents as they adjusted to their new home - mostly in hidden away corners where they could feel safe.
The trouble with a cat or kitten is, once it has marked a spot with it's scent, it will keep returning. So, it was important not only to clean the spots, but also to take away any of the kittens smell from it so they would not return. This is what led me to purchase "1001 no vac carpet and upholstery freshener" , to use on the spots to freshen them once they were cleaned.
In particular, the 'No Vac' part really appealed to me, as my living room is very cluttered with furniture and some spots are hard to reach with my vacuum cleaner .
Using this is easy, simply aim the can upside down, 15" above the area you are spraying, then spray a generous amount of the product onto the area. It looks a lot like a foam cleaner, a fine layer gradually building up into a thicker one . There is no need to scrub the area, the foam will disappear in a momoent or two, and the carpet is dry, and pleasantly scented within a couple of minutes. The lovely sweet berry scent that came from this was lovely, really deep and fruity, without too much chemical undertone to the smell. I believe there are some other scent varieties, but the berry is the one I keep using, I like the fruity smell so much, especially as it seems to fill the whole room .
This costs a couple of pounds, and is available at most supermarkets. It has all the standard warnings on the can about it being flammable, and not eating it or sticking it in your eye, but nothing too alarming . It is easy and quick to use, leaves my room pleasantly scented, and it stopped my kittens returning to the scene of the crime .
5 stars .
This is the best product invention ever. I'm not keen on the wooden floor scenario so my house is fully carpeted. I love the smell of entering my house and smelling a nice scented air freshener or candle.
After using this carpet spray you can loose all scented candles air fresheners and plug ins. The smell of this on your carpets smells the whole house for a long It is very simple to use and you don't have to vacuum this up , It sprays onto your carpets like a white mouse but is very quickly absorbed leaving a wonderful smell. My big favourite on this is the summer flower fragrance and I know they do two other fragrances but I'm sort of scared to change to them as I just love this one so much and this is the smell that reminds me of home.
Once this is prayed onto your carpet it smells instantly and i normally leave this to absorb for about 5-10 mins. I worry though as I have a cream carpet in my lounge just in case it leaves any residue on this but there is no staining left with this. Your carpets can feel a little damp after using this but not soaking wet just damp. Another option to combat this is maybe to give them a quick hoover and that takes it away and thrown out the fragrance through the hoover giving an even stronger smell.
I haven't tried any other carpet deodorants so I cant relate this to anything else just know that I totally love this and have no need to look elsewhere
I had a bit of a problem the other week, one of my twins was really ill and constantly throwing up everywhere. Now it's a brand new house with brand new carpet so when he managed to throw up all over my carpet I was devastated. After shampooing it, opening windows, spraying air fresheners that sicky smell still remained so I went on the search for some miracle cure for the stench on my carpet.
In my local shop I came across 1001 No Vac Carpet and Upholstery Freshener. This product comes in a tall 300ml tin with a plastic lid at the top which acts as the spray. It comes in a few different scents but the one I purchased was Spring Rain - Uplifting Hints of Spring Freshness.
1001 No Vac Freshener is basically a foam, that dries quickly and freshens up your carpets and rugs etc. The front of the tin tells us that it eliminates odours and there is no need to vacuum. I was a bit sceptical at first, I mean this sicky smell was dreadful and awfully strong and because I live in the house the smell had sort of got stuck up my nose I felt like it was never going to disapear.
I shook the can well and held it upside down as directed on the back of the tin about 38cm away from the target carpet. I pressed my finger down on the button on the lid and out come a thick looking white foam, which I heard fizz as it quickly dispeared within my carpet fibres. The smell was stunning, an awakening, fruity freshness, extremely clean and invigorating scent that I was very pleased about. I was more pleased at the fact the scent lasted, a good few hours in fact creating a stunning scent lingering around my home. It didn't wet my carpet and literally dried within seconds. I was a little worried about when this gorgeous fragrance worn off though, that drasted sick smell would be back with a vengeance no doubt!
I was shocked, as the sicky smell had gone - the next morning I woke up expecting to walk down my stairs and have it hit me hard instead I could still smell that fresh fragrance, it was lovely to walk down the stairs to.
Since using this for that yucky smelly problem I have continued buying this just to freshen up the house when cleaning as it smells beautiful. I have tried other scents to be just as pleased. They are all equally as refreshing, clean and smell absolutely stunning around the house.
I'd reccomend trying this to anybody - whether you have a smelly carpet problem or not. A tin is a little pricey at over £2.50 a tin but a little goes along way trust me, a whole tin used quite regularly in my three floor house covered in carpet lasts me at least 2-3 weeks. It could be perfect for people who have pets, for people with children who like mine have accidents with potty training, or when ill being sick, or even for smokers as it really does get rid of nasty smells!
As many of you may know, I have two children with my youngest only being 4 years old. He has really impressed me by coming out of nappies during the night and not once having an accident, well as long as you don't count the sleep tiddling incident last week, which is half the reason I am reviewing this particular product!
My bathroom is situated downstairs, and I really don't like the idea of my son wandering through the house in the middle of the night, he would be in the fridge after chocolate!
This being the case my son has a potty in his room incase of nightime emergencies! Up until recently I just assumed my son sat on his potty the way he did on the toilet (until daddy showed him the manly way to pee!), so now I have started getting a suspect looking patch around the perimeter of the potty....just like daddy! Lol!
After the weather started getting warmer, and even though I scrub the carpet every time it happens with detergent, when the room gets warm the smell increases and it does tend to become a little acrid and takes your breath a little.
I knew there were a few products on the market for disguising the smell, I tried Febreeze but have to say this didn't cover for very long, so when I spotted this spray and saw the clinching words...."No vac" I purchased straight away.
The product I will now review is - "1001 no vac carpet and upholstery freshener"
The can is white with a blue plastic cap style lid, there were two scents to choose from, if I remember correctly one was a florally scent and the one I choose being called "gentle breeze". I of course wanted something strong enough to cover the ammonia smell, but not so strong as to hurt Connor's chest.
The instructions for use are incredibly simple. Point the can upside down, which means nozzle down around 15" above the thing you are spraying, then spray a generous amount of the product onto the area.
The spray comes out like shaving foam, at first, as it sprays out of the can it looks like a fine spray with the foam appearing as soon as it hit's the area, and then going on to doubling in volume.
You then simply leave to dry, which again is quick and fast acting, with the area usually being dry to the touch within minutes, this is due to the spray being so fine.
The smell is very pleasant. It actually reminds me of a fresh cotton smell, or like how your new furniture would smell, fresh from the manufacturers!
This smell lasts a good couple of days and once the initial scent of the product goes, the previous smell doesn't suddenly come back, this too has been removed, this is due to the foam not only masking the smell but effectively removing it from the carpet or upholstery fibres.
This is a fantastic product to have knocking around the house, I have a young family that seem to follow me from room to room creating chaos in all areas that I have previously cleaned, I use this on my settee, the kids carpets and the mattresses, this not only removes smells but adds a lovely fresh smell in the rooms.
This has in my house replaced my beloved febreeze , though I have to say it doesn't go as far as the aforementioned spray, but in scent terms lasts twice as long.
I would say that in a standard bedroom, this would quite happily last at least three applications of the carpet, mattress and also a cheeky spray on the curtains, for added freshness!
Pricewise this product is available around the £2.00 mark, as I mentioned earlier there was this one and a flowery scented one available at my local Asda, though on the can it states that there is also one called "spring rain" I am so getting that one next!

Thanks for reading x
I bought this carpet freshener from Wilko's on Saturday for £1.99 for a 300ml can and got home to read a positive review from karlouk so was quite looking forward to trying the product.
I bought the spring rain fragrance but it is also available in summer flower and gentle breeze.
I have had a problem with a urine smell in my house for a couple of weeks. I do like to give my son time with his nappy off to give his bottom some air which has served me well as he has never once had nappy rash but he has taken now to weeing in the same place and as much as I did clean it up I could smell urine.
I bought a tub of nutradol shake and vac but was disappointed to find it didn't do anything other than mix a smell of nutradol with urine.
I had opened windows at any chance and tried vanish cleaner which is fairness to the product is a stain remover but I was getting desperate.
So to the product in question.
I was unsure when to use it as the spot that needed cleaning was right in front of the TV where my son spends as much time as I let him sat watching his favourite programs so didn't want it to be damp.
Yesterday he was at nursery and it was a nice sunny day so could open the back door to let some air in so this was the time to do it.
The can itself is pressurised with a picture of green grass covered in dew which is deigned to give a smell of the great outdoors which was very attractive to me. As long as it didn't smell like a farmyard?
It is advertised as no vac but as the parent of a toddler that point did not attract me as my Hoover is always out. It does also state safe to use around children.
It is also wool safe approved
I did Hoover prior to application so actually the no Hoover promotion made no difference to me whatsoever.
As the instructions it advises to spray from 15inches and move in a sweeping motion. I wasn't sure how slow I should go and although the instructions do state give a light covering of the foam. The foam seemed to start soaking in instantly which did make it hard to follow the area that had been done so I properly did some parts twice.
I instantly noticed a fresh smell that did for once encompass the smells of spring. After the five minutes which is states on the can it takes to dry I knelt down to smell the carpet and it didn't smell of spring mixed with urine but spring itself. The carpet however did still feel a little damp but this may be down to a little over application more than the product itself.
I did use two thirds of the can on a large rectangle area in front of the TV so doubt whether this product would be very useful for the whole room but for me it was ideal.
It has saved me having to hire a carpet cleaning machine which I don't really see the point doing until he is potty trained and so worth every penny.
Would highly recommend
I first discovered 1001 No Vac in Tesco for £2.00 a couple of months ago (although at the time of writing this it is on offer for £1.50). It is also available at Wilkinsons and Sainsburys for around the same price. I still have half a can left even though I use it on a regular basis.
What is it?
No Vac is a foam spray which can be used on carpets, rugs and upholstery. It is used to eliminate odours without the need to vacuum. It can rid of smells from pets, tobacco and cooking to name a few. It is also perfect for people on the go and who can't vaccum as much as they would like to.
How does it work?
The foam penetrates deep down in the carpet, rug and upholstery fibres which neutrolises and gets rid of nasty and lingering trapped odours.
How is it used?
It's really quick and easy to use. Just shake the can and spray on the desired area from about 15 inches away. If you want to cover a large area spray in a sweeping, side to side motion to evenly apply. It looks a bit scary at first with white foam all over the place but after about 1 minute all of the foam dissapears into the carpet. It fully dries after about 5 minutes, without leaving any marks whatsoever. It is even safe to use on wool.
What do I personally use No Vac for?
I have a dog and am in the process of potty training my little girl so at times I feel like my house smells like an actual zoo so I like to have an almost daily squirt of No Vac around the house. It freshens up the whole house and when people visit it makes it smell like I have been doing lots of housework when I've infact done nothing! I sometimes use it on the sofa after the dog has been laying on it - make sure you don't sit on the sofa about 10 minutes afterwards though otherwise you'll get a damp bum. During most days I am very busy and sometimes don't get a chance to vacuum (and the nights are too late to start getting the hoover out) so No Vac is really handy for me inbetween vacuuming.
And what does it look like?
No Vac comes in the form of a 300ml aerosol spray can. The lid is blue and the foam comes out of the top when pressed. There are flowers on the front of my can as the fragrance is called 'summer flowers'. Other fragrances available are spring rain and gentle breeze.
On the back of the can it states what the product is, directions for use, dangers of the product (do not consume, flammable, keep out of reach of children) and contact details.
And the smell?
Summer flowers smells really sweet, floral and fresh. I can't think of anything to compare it to but it's very pleasent.
No Vac works much better than most air freshners as it lasts a lot longer, usually all day, whereas air freshners last about half an hour.
I have tried Shake n Vac numerous times before and No vac is not only much, much nicer smelling but there is no need for vacuuming like you need with Shake n Vac.
Please note that this is not a shampoo or stain remover.
5 well deserved stars.
Who will like this product:
This is a handy product designed to freshen your carpets without the use of a vaccum or shampooing. Girls and guys on the go will love this product as it feshens your carpets in minutes. As a student i use this quite regularly to keep my room and house fresh. This product is also ideal for those who like to keep their house and crapets smelling fresh in between full cleaning days, as it can be used quickly for a carpet pick me up.
what this product cost:
Its reletivley cheap, aproximatly £1.99 a can, it may be cheaper in supermarkets or cheap shops like Savers (oooh also try your local £1 shop if you have one for leading products at knock down prices).
What this product looks like:
A medium sized areosal can, with a blue spray top. My version is summer flowers and so has a picture of flowers on the front. the design also includes the classic 1001 logo.
First thing to note is that this product sprays from the top (this is important as you may spray this product all over yourself). It comes out a a foam which dissolves within seconds into your carpet without the need to vacuum. Shake quite well and spray over a large surface area for best results. Smells beautiful and cheers my carpets up and as it clings to the fibres of your crapets relaesing the scent all day long, it works better than an air freshener. This product does not clean like a shampoo but does freshen the appearance of carpets.
I use this every so often when I want to add a fresh smell to the carpets. Sometimes, I just can't be bothered to get the Vax out and do the whole washing thing, and thankfully I don't have many carpets, so it's not a huge issue.
**What is it?***
It's actually marketed as a foam carpet freshener which eliminates odours by breaking them down and eliminating them.
The product comes in a 300ml spray aerosol can, and since mine is spring rain, there is a rather pretty picture of wet grass!
Spray the can and out comes the foam...careful at this point because whilst cans usually have the spray bit to the side, this is on the top, so one wrong move and you've been foamed!
The foam is white and comes out in a kind of spray which has to be directed at the carpet! It has a floral kind of smell. I'm not quite sure what spring rain smells like, but I think this smells a bit like lily of the valley.
**How do I use it?**
As I said, it's basically a simple spray can. Shake it well before you use it, because if you don't it comes out in clumps, not a fine mist. Then, simply hold the can and press the tab whilst moving the can in a side to side motion so that all the bits of carpet you want covered with the foam are covered.
After about 5 minutes the freshened areas are dry and the foam has completely disappeared.
**Price and Availability**
This is widely available and costs around £2.20.
Should you don't want your house to smell like summer rain, then try summer flower or gentle breeze; the latter sounds interesting. What does a gentle breeze smell of? i would have though it would depend on the direction and the smells it was carrying. Could be quite unpleasant!
Obviously, there are the other warings, such as don't swallow it etc, but if used as directed, it is safe to use around children and pets. Just don't spray it onto the fire!

**What I Think**
For an instant fresh smell, i do like this, especially if we have had people round and there has been lots of tramping about the place. I'm not sure if the odours are actually broken down and destroyed as I can't actually see this taking effect.
It is easy to use but do shake it before each use or you will get clumps of the stuff. i spray it on the curtains and the carpets and have not hnoticed any adverse effects, such as shrinkage or discolouration. The foam disappears and dries quickly, but I think for the best effect, it should be sprayed after hoovering, although it can be used without having hoovered first.
If you are looking for a quick freshener, then this could be good. It doesn't leave a heavy overpowering smell, as some air fresheners do, and if it really does eliminate rather than mask odours, then I'm all for that!
Going to have to try the Gentle Breeze...
