Tesco Anti-bacterial Multi Action Wipes Citrus
by Chippytarka
One of my favourite cleaning products has to be wipes.Purely for the fact they are simple to use and especially if I need to wipe a surface down, I simply grab, wipe and Im done. I buy different brands of wipe, normally if I find they are on offer, and this Tesco Mutli Action pack of wipes in the lemon fragrance is one I have used many ... times.
What is this product?
These are Tescos own Antibacterial Multi Action wipes with a citrus fragrance ( more specifically lemom ). The picture above shows a pack of 120, where as the one I have contains 40 wipes, and this tends to be the readily available option.
These wipes are designed to clean surfaces such as tiles, toilets, sinks, work tops. Not only do they clean, but they kill 99.98% of bacteria including E coli, Listeria and Salmonella.
How are they packaged?
They come in a plastic rectangular shaped packet with a small plastic cover over the middle of the packet, which when you pull back allows you to take out wipes. It seals back and covers the opening when wipes are not needed, ensuring they dont dry out.
The picture is slightly different to the one above, but still gives the same overall impression. The main colour is yellow, there is a picture of lemons on the packet and it clearly states what the product is on the front, so you wouldnt be in doubt.
On the back of the packet the information is simple but sufficient e.g what wipes do, ingredients, warnings etc. Overall packaging is simple and uncomplicated.
So what do I think of this product?
Firstly, the packet is easy to open and rather than finding myself pulling out about 15 wipes all at once, I can easily take out one or two at a time if needed. As soon as you lift the seal to get a wipe, you are immediately hit with a fragrance of lemon.Its not powerful but fresh, clean and very citrusy ( probably no such word! ), and this smell is impregnated in the wipes so the smell isnt a one hit wonder.
The size of the wipe is just right and the thickness isnt too thin where I feel I might as well wipe my surfaces with my own hands, yet not too thick where you dont feel comfortable holding them, or finding they arent flexiable enough when trying to wipe surfaces that arent straight or flat e.g around the back of a toilet. So you can easily move them around odd shaped areas you want to clean.
They clean surfaces very well.I tend to use these in the bathroom, sink and toilet area. I like the fact it doesnt soak the surface area with moisture, but gives a light glaze of cleaning product, which quickly dries within minutes. The smell is still apparent even after use, but is more a light smell in the background, rather than something obvious.
I also like the fact they dont take too much room underneath the sink.Their footprint isnt huge, they are reasonable flat, roughly the length of a Sky remote and half its length width ways.
Would I buy again?This is one of those products that should always be under the sink.Ive used them to wipe my kids toys down, potties, highchairs, door handles. Basically anything that normally can be cleaned and wiped down, but I need the added protection of killing of germs. Normally these wipes cost £1.25 but currently Tesco are selling them for 3 for £2.75 which is good buy.
How do you use?
Wipe surface til dirt/grime has been removed. Leave to air dry. When finished with wipes make sure you reseal so wipes remain moist and not allowed to dry out. Read the complete review |

Mr Sheen Specialist Wipes for Leather
by loopylou1234
I stupidly bought 2 cream fabric sofas when my daughter was 1 years old, she has now been joined by a sister who is 14 months old. My sofa's aren't in great condition now (as you can imagine) so when I've saved up some money I will definitely be buying leather sofa's. My old workplace used to have leather sofa's and after work I ... sometimes would run the hoover round the room and then give the sofa's a quick wipe over with these wipes.
-- The Packaging --
The wipes are packaged in red plastic with a tab which you peel back to get the wipes out. On the label it has the Mr Sheen wording in bold white lettering which stands out and a picture of a leather sofa on it and it clearly states that these are wipes for cleaning leather. On the packaging it informs you that the wipes contain extracts of lanolin which is meant to condition leather and make it more supple.
It is wise to close the tab firmly and store the wipes face down in the cupboard as otherwise the tab could open and then it dries out the wipes.
-- How to use & Results --
These are very simple to use, simply peel back the label and take out a wipe and run it over the surface of the sofa. It shows where you have wiped, but this soon dries and leaves the sofa looking clean and shiny. (It's surprising how dirty leather sofa's get, you can see the results by looking at the wipe when you have finished using it!)
On the packet it says that this is suitable to use on your leather goods and furniture, such as jackets, sofa, shoes, and leather bean bags etc. I have only used them on sofa's so cannot comment on how they perform on other products.
-- Price and Availability --
I used to buy these wipes from ASDA and they still stock them. Last time I checked they cost £2.54 for a packet of 30 wipes which works out as 8.5p per wipe.
-- Overall Summary --
This may not be the cheapest way of cleaning your leather sofa but in my opinion this is the quickest, easiest way of doing so. I would recommend this product.

Milton Antibacterial Surface Wipes
by k2705
I am not obsessive about cleaning etc, however when out and about I do have a bit of a thing about Jayden picking up things that other people could have handled, for example if we are in a waiting area I do not mind him playing with the toys but watch closely that they go no where near his mouth, also when he was really little and we ... went shopping I would put him one of the baby seats in the trolley but I hated the thought that another baby may have been in that seat previously and weed or been sick in it or something like that , so before strapping him in I would wipe the seat down with some baby wipes to clean it, however after a few weeks I spotted in the reduced section in Superdrug a packet of Milton Antibacterial Surface Wipes, after reading the product information these seemed ideal for what I wanted, and now they are always in Jayden's nappy bag when we go out just in case I need them.
Packaging
The Milton Antibacterial Surface Wipes come in a square white plastic packet with pale blue edges. It has a dark blue and white label in the centre of the packet on the top, this has the word Milton written at the top with the words Antibacterial Surface Wipes written underneath in blue, there is also a small amount of product information written underneath.
This label on the front of the packet can be peeled back so that you can remove the wipes and then re-seal again to prevent them from drying out. On the back of the packet is all of the information you need to know about the Milton Wipes, this is clearly written in pink so that it stands out against the white background and includes facts about the wipes, where they can be used, how to use them and warnings, all of this information is then repeated in 2 other languages. The packaging is tough and very unlikely to split when it is in your bag so that the wipes dry out.
The Wipes
The Milton Antibacterial Surface wipes look very similar to regular baby wipes, they are plain white and a rectangle shape, the wipes are made from a tough material which can be torn if needed but is also strong enough to prevent the wipe from falling apart when using it, this fabric is 100% biodegradable and from a natural origin.
The wipes are described as being effective on germs but at the same time are 100% bleach free, they contain a rinse free formula which will disinfect a variety of surfaces both in and outside of the home.
I find that Milton has a distinctive fragrance to it, however with these wipes this is not the case as they are fragrance free so whilst they will disinfect your surfaces you will not get that fresh Milton smell afterwards which personally I quite liked as you knew that it was clean and fresh, however this is not too much of a problem and would not put me off of using them.
Areas of Use
Milton Antibacterial Surface Wipes can be used on a variety of surfaces, some of these are described on the back of the packaging and include
* Public facilities (toilets etc)
* Highchairs
* Changing Mats
* Telephones
* Door handles
This is just a few of the different areas they can be used, they really can be used on most surfaces in order to clean and disinfect it.
Directions for Use
These wipes are ready to use, you simply peel back the label to remove a wipe, rub it over the surface or item you want to be disinfected and leave it to dry. It is important to reseal the packet afterwards to prevent the rest of the wipes from drying out.
Warnings
Again these appear on the back of the Milton Wipes packet and include
* Do not put into a toilet to dispense of
* Flammable
* Keep out of reach of children
* Keep away from heat
* Keep away from sources of ignition or fire
* Do not smoke
* Avoid contact with eyes, if this occurs rinse immediately and see a doctor
* Do not use on a baby's skin or during nappy changing.
What the Wipes Do
Obviously the Milton Antibacterial Wipes are designed to clean surfaces and kill germs, the back of the packaging states that these wipes kill the following
* In 5 minutes - Bactericidal EN 1040
* In 15 minutes - Fungicidal EN 1275 on C Albicans (Thrush)
Price and Availability
As I have mentioned I purchased my packet of Milton Antibacterial Surface Wipes from Superdrug and they were at the time in their reduced section for just £1.00, however they are also available from places such as Tesco and are sold for £2.29 for 30 wipes. Personally I feel these are good value for money and reasonably priced, especially as they are so handy to have.
My Opinion
I have been using Milton Antibacterial Surface Wipes for a while now and have been very pleased with them, I always carry them with me in Jayden's nappy bag, they are extremely handy to have with you especially with a baby as they are always dropping things and are also more susceptible to picking up germs, with these wipes you can quickly wipe down surfaces before putting your baby onto them.
The wipes are reasonably priced and you also get quite a few per packet, however for me they were worth the money just knowing that I could help prevent Jayden from picking up germs especially when out and about.
I use these wipes a lot on supermarket trolleys as I have mentioned that way I know that if a child has had a little accident in the trolley seat before we use it I can thoroughly clean the seat prior to putting Jayden into it.
I would definitely recommend these wipes to anyone whether you have a child or not as they really are handy to have with you when you are out or even on holiday, they are definitely worth the money and are a product I will continue to purchase. Read the complete review |
