I needed a scrubbing brush for the rug in our lounge to use with a carpet cleaner and this look liked it was perfect to do the job. The main part of the brush is made from silver plastic which is strong and holds the stiff white bristles in place. The brush is actually made by Addis whom make a large range of household cleaning accessories such as brushes, mops, brooms and other products. Although on the B & Q website this is described as a dish brush this wasn't what I was intending on using the brush for. We recently purchased some foam carpet cleaner and we needed to work the foam into the rug which is why we purchased this brush in the first place. The brush comes in one colour which is a metallic silver colour and is made from strong plastic. The stiff bristles to the brush are white in colour and are a good length, not too long but at the same time not too short either. The main part of the brush (handle) has some raised lines on either side to ensure you can get a good grip of the brush when using it to scrub different surfaces. The front part of the brush has a slightly pointed top which is good for scraping more stubborn dried on marks on different surfaces. On the other end of the brush is a hook so it can be hung to prevent it from getting lost. The ADDIS logo is engraved near the top of the brush.
The main use for the brush was to scrub the rug in the lounge so after applying the carpet cleaner we purchased I rubbed it into the carpet using the brush. The brush was easy to grip, due to the raised lines on either side of the brush. The bristles to the brush are quite stiff so do a good job of scrubbing surfaces to ensure they get clean. Although the brush often gets wet when using it, you can still get a good grip on the brush without your hand slipping off of it. As well we using this to scrub the rug in the lounge we have also used it for the bathroom floor and the dirty grout between the tiles. We always ensure we rinse the brush thoroughly before using it for anything else. As we have already used the product with various cleaning products we obviously wouldn't use this to wash the dishes but I do think it would do a good job of getting rid of stuck on food and grease for tin's and dishes but the shape and size of the brush may make this a little awkward.
I purchased the brush from my local B & Q store for £1.78 which is good considering on the Addis website it states that this product is £3.99. In terms of value the brush was really cheap and extremely good value as we have had the brush for at least 1 month and it's still going strong and has all it's bristles. Of course over time the brush will wear down and the bristles won't work as well as they used to but I don't expect this to happen anytime soon. As the bristles are white they do tend to show up the dirt quite a lot but normally this does rinse off with some lukewarm water. I would recommend this brush as it's suitable for all your scrubbing needs.
