“ Brand: Asda / Type: Toilet Cleaner / Category: Cleaning & Disinfectant „
When it comes to cleaning my toilet I like to use a cleaner which is going to give it a good clean and clean it well, I hate nothing worse than a toilet cleaner which doesn't clean well. I have bought lots of shops own brands of toilet cleaners and found they clean really well. This cleaner is one I hadn't bought before so I thought I would give it a go.
It comes in a plastic bottle which is green in colour, it doesn't have any fancy design and just has the name clearly on the front of the bottle and can be easily spotted on a shelf. It has a good sized nozzle at the top of the bottle. The liquid is a dark green colour and gel liquid, the liquid is fairly rich and not a runny consistency. It has a smooth, soft texture to it and it flows from the nozzle really well when I gently squeeze the bottle. It doesn't tend to squirt from the bottle, it flows nicely.
It has a nice pine fragrance to it, the scent is fairly strong and is apparent but it isn't overpowering, it is a strong enough smell for the price and quite pleasant. I like the smell of pine and I like the smell of this one quite a lot. It smells really refreshing.
The nozzle is easy to place under the rim of the toilet, I haven't experienced any problems with placing it under the rim of my toilet. The liquid clings really well to the bowl of the toilet and it tends to slowly run down it and remains on the bowl for a while after I have squeezed it into my toilet. I always pour either bleach or a toilet cleaner into my toilet last thing at night before I go to bed and the next morning after I have poured some of this cleaner into my toilet, the next morning I can see some of the liquid is still apparent on the bowl. Shows how well this cleaner actually clings onto the bowl.
It flushes well from the toilet and just leaves it smelling fresh. I find it cleans my toilet really well too, my toilet is a white colour and it looks really clean when I have used this cleaner and I am very happy with the results. I am very house proud and this cleaner has cleaned my toilet to the standard I expect from a shops own brand of toilet cleaner.
It claims to kill 99.9% of germs, Kills E.Coli, Salmonella and MRSA. I cannot be sure if this cleaner kills all of these germs as we all know we cannot really know but these are the claims from this toilet cleaner and I guess we just simply have to believe them.
It also claims to remove limescale, I don't have any limescale in my toilet and so I cannot say if it removes limescale or not but I would say if you have a build up of limescale in your toilet this cleaner maybe won't tackle it too well because in my opinion it is a more gentle cleaner and not one which is too powerful as much as some other brands. But it may tackle a slight build up of limescale with a little gentle scrubbing, so not to scratch the surface of the toilet.
It is really cheap to buy and it only costs 80p for a 750ml bottle, I think this is a super price and I think it is well worth the money. It is so affordable for any budget in my opinion and a good one to buy if you are lucky enough to have more than one toilet in your home. Also would be a nice one to buy if you are wanting to drop a brand and say some money, I don't think you will be disappointed with the way this cleaner works for cleaning the toilet and the fresh pine fragrance.
I will buy this one again in the future, it gives me all of the results I expect from a shops own brand of toilet cleaner and I am more than happy with the price of it and the amount of liquid inside the bottle.

I give this toilet cleaner 5 stars.
Thank you for reading my review and I hope it has been of some help.
The one thing I can't stand in my home is a dirty and/or smelly toilet and this is why I buy and get through an awful lot of products such as toilet cleaner which is why the other week when I was looking to purchase some new claning products I picked up a couple of bottles of this as usually it costs 69p a bottle but at the time (and for a short time still) this is on offer at buy 2 for a £1.00 and for someone like me that is heavy handed with this type of product I was unable to resist the bargain of it!
This comes in green bottle with an angled neck to the top of it and with a right red safety cap to the top of it. On the front of the bottle we are clarly told what it is and who it is by and then on the back of it we are told a bit about the product and how to use it, the size is stated (as I have listed already) and contact details for Asda are given. Nice enough, robust bottle and its informative enough as it needs to be as well.
Well this is a dark green, thin gel that simply smells freshly of pine and it runs out of the bottle with ease. Its an ok fragrance and it certainly smells clean enough when using it and for a good while after in my toilet.
I simply squirt this under the rim and leave for a while to clean my loo, or I can pop some on a cloth and wipe the bowl of my loo with it though mainly I squirt and leave it overnight and then flush and no residue of this is left behind thankfully.
It is meant to kill 99.9% of germs including E.Coli, Samonella and MRSA and to help remove stains. I can't say that I know for a fact that this kills germs but I trust that it does, as for stains...well if used regulary my toilet bowl does appear clean and shiny however for real dirt I do need to remove that with a toilet brush so don't go thinking that this works all by itself as it doesn't!
A little of this goes a very long way indeed and all in all I do like this product and it works well for me and my needs!
Only available in Asda stores.

I regularly shop in my local Asda supermarket, as well as order online using their website at www.asda.co.uk. I usually need to buy household cleaners of some sort whilst I am shopping and one such product that I bough recently was the Asda Toilet Gel in the pine fragrance. I believe that the Asda Toilet Gel is also available in a lemon fragrance.
I paid 69 pence for the 750ml bottle of Toilet Gel, but I believe that Asda are currently running a promotional offer on this product and you can buy two of the Toilet Gel products (in any fragrance) for only £1.
My main reason for buying the Asda Toilet Gel on this occasion was the price... I would usually buy a bottle of "Toilet Duck" which is a similar product but a more premium brand. This purchase on this occasion would have cost me £1.29, so I was happy to pay significantly less for the Asda Toilet Gel - a similar product - and see how it fared in comparison.
The packaging for the Asda Toilet Gel comprises of a green coloured plastic bottle, with a red plastic cap on the end. The neck of the bottle is angled which is specifically designed to allow the neck to reach under the toilet rim and around the inside of the toilet bowl when cleaning it. I find that this design is quite a useful one and the angled neck allowed the 'spout' at the top of the bottle to reach under the rim of the toilet much better than if the bottle had a straight neck.
The cap on the bottle is made of robust plastic and when it is turned 'fully' you can hear a loud clicking noise which makes it more difficult to unscrew off. This is presumably a child-safety feature and I have come across this design on many similar products that I have bought in the past.
The Asda Toilet Gel is easy to use and I find that it is thin enough to 'spread' around the toilet bowl quite easily. I have had no problems with it rinsing off either, which is a plus point as it is a bright green colour! I have bought similar products in the past that are more 'budget' branded than this one, and I found that it could be quite difficult to remove all traces of the product, or residue from the product completely from the toilet bowl. This was annoying and off-putting and so I am glad that I have not experienced any such problems with the Asda Toilet Gel.
I find that the bottle of Asda Toilet Gel is quite economical and it has lasted for a number of weeks even though I use it on an almost-daily basis. I find that a generous squirt of the solution around the toilet bowl is usually sufficient to wash it and clean it thoroughly, whereas similar, more budget-branded products I have bought in the past have required me to squirt solution all over the bowl itself, including under the rim to achieve a clean, shiny bowl. In my opinion therefore, this brand of toilet cleaner is one of a fairly good quality and I think the long-lasting bottle makes it an economical purchase and good value for money.
The scent of the Asda Toilet Gel is not one that I find particularly pleasant or uplifting in any way, but the product is simply designed to wash and clean my toilet and I personally don't feel the need to buy products such as these with scents that appeal to me. As long as the product works effectively (and this one certainly does) then I am happy enough with that.
The fragrance is quite strong, and I find it is evident in my bathroom the whole time that I am cleaning the toilet and for a short while afterwards, even after the toilet has been flushed. I find also that the fragrance is quite a heavy one and it really just smells like a toilet cleaner product to me. This is not a negative point, but it seems to be just a 'does what it says on the tin' kind of product, and that is absolutely fine with me.
I would buy the Asda Toilet Gel again, as I found it was effective at cleaning my toilet quickly and easily and I thought it was an economical product that lasted well and so offered good value for money.
The product can be bought from Asda supermarkets, as well as purchased online at www.asda.co.uk and the current price for the 750ml bottle is 69 pence.
