Asda Smartprice Cream Cleaner
Advantages: Cheap, large bottle, works on some things
Disadvantages: Leaves a horrible residue behind on most things
For me my bathroom being clean 24/7 is a very important thing. I have other people using it and of course myself and don't want to it to be one bit grubby.
I often buy lots of cleaning products and purchase them in Poundland as I appreciate known brands of things however like many of us at the moment I am trying to save myself a few pennies where I can and so the other day whilst in Asda I bought a few of their 'Smart Price' offerings to see how they faired.
This cost me the tiny price of 30p for a 500ml bottle which is a quite a large size. The bottle is simply white plastic with a lip top lid to the top of it concealing a small hole and all the inormation listed is on the label on the front of it to which i am told what it is, the ingredients are listed, size, cautions, well everything and it does look like cheap packaging and a cheap product however it is informative enough to be fair to it.
Well this is designed to be used on ceramics and works surfaces and the likes. The liquid is a sort of very light greysish colour and has a very small hint of an artificial smell of lemons to it, but not very much really. It is a smooth creamy looking liquid and the idea is to wipe down where you want to clean with this and then wipe it off with a damp, clean cloth thoroughly.
I used mine in the bathroom at first for my bath, toilet and sink and although it cleaned enough with a little hard work from me I did find it a nuisance to rinse it of as like with all other products such as this I have used in the past it did leave a chalk like residue behind itself which I did manage to wipe of with plenty of water. It cleaned up well enough though, though it didn't leave a nice fresh clean smell behind itself but I have to admit I wasn't all that keen on it.
Where this did excell for me though was on something I didn't expect it to. I bave a damp problem on my painted walls with lots of very horrible black patches all over the place. I don't know what made me think of trying to wipe them off with this stuff but I splodged a little on a cloth an I couldn't believe it! It removed them, didnt spread a mess or a greasy film about and simply made them vanish and I didn't have to wipe it off and muck about and the results were fabulous though because it has a drippy solution I did get some on my lamante floor which looked after I'd finished like I'd dropped a mix of flour and water on the floor though it wiped up ok, again with plenty of water on a cloth!
I did use some of this on my kitchen worktops but on stains it was uneffective and I found it made cleaning in their with grease and grime quite hard work and that I have products much more fitted to be used in there and in the end this product now lives under my sink for my damp issues other than that I don't like the residue it leaves behind unless I really get to work wiping it off!
Only available in Asda stores.
Summary: Doesn't clean as good as I require!
