      Rubbish Asda!

Stocking up last week both me and my flatmate decided to try some more economy options of cleaning products for our flat. I like our toilet to smell fresh and be clean and germ free and I do usually buy some sort of rim block along with toilet rim cleaner (like a duck) and a blue block to put in the cistern. I usually though spend a couple of quid on this such product though and so when I saw as Asdas own rim block costing only 95p it looked sturdy through the packaging as well as being a good price.

      The Packaging:

The rim block itself comes on a cardboard backing that on the front of it I am simply told that it is Asda 'Smart Price' Pine Liquid Rim Block and there is a sturdy plastic covering that goes over that. On the back of the packaging I am again told what it is and ingredients are listed as well as contact details for Asda being given. Cheap looking but informative enough packaging this is and its easy to get out of the packaging etc.

      The Rim Block:

This is a rather big liquid rim block. On the front of it there is a large clear plastic section with bright green liquid in it and then to the back of it the casing is white plastic. It comes all ready for clipping on to the toilet rim so no faffing about is required and you simply hook the whole unit on to the the toilet so that it hangs over the bowl.

For the first day it was fine, sat neatly there and whenever we flushed the toilet a little bit of the green liquid dribbled out during flushing and gave off a nice fresh and sightly sweet pine fragrance that was actually rather natural in its fragrance.

However day two we got a problem! I went to the loo to dump off my business, flushed the toilet and half an hour later I went to use the bathroom again for a bath and it was flooded! There was water everywhere and some how this had managed to move itself free slightly and lift the toilet lid up a bit allowing the water to gush everywhere to which I mopped up the horrific mess and threw it into the bin in disgust!

For me this has a design fault. It is too bulky and looks a bit of a sight in the toilet though while it stayed in place it did seem to freshen the loo up however being so big and moving itself gave the toilet big issues so on those grounds this cannot be recommended!

      Only available in Asda stores.
