Generally I am not one who likes spraying things in the air around my home and I prefer to fragrance a room with Yankee Tarts. However I had not tried this room spray before so as it was on offer I ordered it. These sprays can often be picked up at much less than their full price or £4.
The bottle is very plain and sort of cheap looking but the label is colourful and appropriate for the contents.
I have not tried this spray on linen as, although many people use them on their bedsheets and pillows I do not want to be lying and breathing in chemicals from these sprays when I try and sleep.
However I wanted to try it out as a room fragrance and so I tried in it our large living room. When first sprayed you get a lovely sweet strawberry smell and a sort of 'sweet' element as well - evidently the chocolate part. It can be quite strong when first sprayed but soon tones down. The smell is reminiscent of the strawberry Yankee tarts I have burnt before. This is good for a quick freshen up if guests are arriving - but although the smell is nice and refreshing, it does not linger for very long. I then tried it in the passage and bathroom - again you get a good smell from three bursts of spray - but it does disperse very quickly.
However it is quite cheap to buy for around £1 and is handy to have to give the bathroom a quick freshen up or for in the living room to make it smell a bit fresher when people are visiting.
It s a shame the sprays do not have more staying power but when bought at a reduced price it is not too bad value.
As well as spraying into the room I have sprayed the cushions as well to help spread the smell around.
As the spray comes out in a fine mist my bottle is lasting e ages and is better than cans of air fresheners.
I keep it on my bookshelf or on the bathroom windowsill so it can be grabbed and used easily and the style and packaging means it does not look too out of place if on view.
3 stars. Nice smelling but does not last very long.
===Would I Recommend?===
I had had my eye on the room and linen sprays being offered from Avon for a while but had never got round to buying any. However a couple of brochures back they were offering these and other things from the range at 4 for £5. I needed to get a small gift for someone so I saw this as the perfect opportunity to get some of the room and linen sprays to try. I was immediately drawn to the strawberry and white chocolate offering. I love white chocolate and I also love strawberries so this seemed to be a brilliant offering for me. I went ahead and ordered a 200ml bottle as part of the 4 for £5 offer so it worked out at around £1.25 which I thought was a brilliant price.
The bottle is clear and there is a large sticker around the bottle which provides information. We are told that it is from the Avon naturals range and there is a large picture of strawberries dipped in white chocolate which looks very appealing. The bottle has a baby pink theme. I think that the bottle looks really good and I have no qualms leaving this on show as the bottle does look quite sophisticated in my opinion.
The spray is in a pump spray bottle which also has a clear snap on lid the trigger is shaped to fit your fingertips well. You don't have to press it hard to dispense the product. The spray is released in a fine mist that covers a large area. You can immediately detect the scent.
Initially I found the spray a bit overpowering and sweet. However after the spray has been given a few seconds to settle it calms down a little and becomes more subtle. The scent is then a sweet strawberry smell, toned down with subtle scents of white chocolate. The scent is quite sweet but it is not too much and instead provides a fresh, sweet scent.
I find that after spraying this around the room you can still detect it an hour or two later. It has much better staying power when applied to linen and then you can still detect subtle aromas a few days after.
We often use this after a cat has used the litter tray a it actually does a really good job of covering the smell and within a minute or two of spraying this you can no longer detect the original scent.
The spray is clear and doesn't leave any marks on my linen or furniture.
I like this spray. I don't think it will be my favourite scent from the range because generally I do prefer the more fruity scents but it is a nice scent. It covers bad odours well and it also is nice to just freshen up a room. A little goes a long way and I usually use 3 or 4 sprays which covers a large room. I don't think it is as good as febreeze but for a simple freshen up it does very well.
