I bought a few of these room and linen sprays as I thought they are a fab idea and I get fed up of the stale smells of other sprays. Having used many Avon products before so I expected quite high quality from this. It cost me 99p on a deal in one of the brochures but I think it is just over £1 normally. It arrived and it is a relatively small bottle and it is all plastic.
The bottles are 125 ml and are clear. They are part of the Avon naturals range and You can get them in a range of odours and this one has a picture of strawberries and guava on the front of the bottle. As far as sprays go it looke much nicer than the massive bottles of Febreeze you can buy. The cap is plastic and when you take that off it is a push down spray trigger.
The directions state that you should spray 2-3 times towards the centre of the room. I don't think this is enough so I spray all over. The push spray is quite powerful so you do get a satisfying noise and smell strait away.
The smell of this spray is so delicious. You can smell the strawberries extremely strongly but the guava just dulls it down that bit so it's not too strong. It smells slightly like the strawberry and cream sweets you can buy which as you can imagine is lovely.
After you have sprayed the room does smell lovely for a little while. My only criticism would be that it doesn't take that long for the smell to go completely leaving you to believe you should spray again. It works slightly better on linen with the small lasting much longer but again it is not that long.
In conclusion I think it gives a nice smell to your linen or room but is not long lasting. If you want long lasting then I think Febreeze is better but if you want nicer smells that are fresh then go for this.
I have purchased a number of the room and linen sprays from Avon including this Strawberry & Guava one and personally I don't think it's the best out there but if your a fan of Avon products you may like it. It comes in a slim line 125ml bottle, and at around 99p on offer it's a good deal however, I find the scent lingers for about 5 mins and then its gone again! I tend to spray it directly in the middle of the room after a nice cleaning spree just to make myself feel good and the house is refreshed but I don't think it would be handy keeping in the bathroom! I sprayed it once in the toilet after my daughter did a no.2 (lovely I know!) and it did not mask the smell at all just made it worse if anything! So consumers out there remember its not like oust so as to neutralise odours but simply is just a temporary fruity smell around the house! In regards to linen spray aspect I have used it on my sofas and and curtains and if you do sniff closely you can smell it faintly but otherwise not sure why it is called a room AND linen spray!
=== The product ===
This is a strawberry & guava room & linen spray from the Avon Naturals range.
=== The packaging ===
This comes provided in a clear plastic bottle. The liquid is clear within the bottle and there is a press action spray dispenser. There is a small circular plastic lid that just pops off and allows the spray to be used.
=== How to use this ===
Well the bottle states this is to be sprayed in the middle of the room but I completely ignore this and use it on my sofas and my curtains in my living room. I usually spray this around 20-25 times when using it, all over my sofas, all over my curtains and anything else I may have lying around fabric wise.
=== Where can I buy this & for how much? ===
This is priced at £4.00 but there is currently a 4 for £5.00 special offer on selected bath and body products and this linen spray is included in the offer.
=== Overall opinion ===
I am a fan of nice smelling products for the home and I received a bottle of this in a gift basket that my Nan made up for me last year. There were lots of different products, quite a few from Avon, and she had added in some other products that I like too as well as some that I had never tried before. It was several months before I got round to sorting out all of my products from Christmas and actually realised that this was a room and linen spray, I then promptly placed this under the sink in the kitchen rather than leaving it in the bathroom as I knew that I was a lot more likely to use it to refresh my living room and kitchen which are open plan.
When using this the initial first spray is nothing special, it doesn't have a really nice scent to it and it's a little chemical and almost over powering, however, once it has settled the scent definitely becomes sweeter and a lot nicer. This scent dries well and leaves no stains on any of my fabrics. The scent lasts for a good hour or two before being less noticeable but I feel more confident knowing that my curtains don't smell like my cat when visitors come over and I have quickly opened them to make it look like I've not been sitting around in my pyjamas all day.
I quite like this linen & room spray. It's simple to use, the packaging is strong, the scent is nice once its calmed down and it lingers for a couple of hours which is reasonable for a cheaper product. I must add that the price of this seems to fluctuate from about £1.75 up to £4.00 depending on what promotions they probably know are going to be coming up, bit cheeky really.
I have used avon bath and cosmetic products since I was a child and love the quality and value. I have longed for a product that I can use in the house to make it smell as good as me after I have used the bath products and this is what I have been waiting for!
I spritz this in all my rooms for a fresh, sweet summer fragrance that really smells like strawberry jam! It is a light pleasant smell that does not get too sickly or heavy unlike the plug in airfreshners. It is long lasting and can still be noticed hours after spraying. I use this a few times a week as part of my cleaning regime.
The only downside is that the bottles are very small compared to bottles of usual air freshners and I tend to use it up quickly. However, I bought it for 99p in the catalogue and bought a few to stock up, so don't mind. It smells much more expensive and luxurious than usual household sprays which often smell like chemicals.
I love buying Avon products, most of my cosmetics, body and bath items are from Avon, and they all work pretty well so thought i'd try a few different products for a change, the best smell ever I think are fruity smells and most of all Strawberry, it's so sweet and succulent I love smelling of it.
In the Avon catalog this was only 99p so I decided to go ahead and order this along with 2 other of their flavors, now, this is a room spray, nothing to go on the body. It's great when you've cleaned your full house from top to bottom and you want to give it that extra hint of clean and fresh-ness. All Avon's natural products come in plain packaging like the picture above, this sort of reminds me of cleanliness.
After spraying this several times in each room high up I could feel all the mist drifting down the air showering myself and their air with the scent of strawberries, after I cleaned up I went out to the shops and upon my returning, the smell had completely disappeared, I have been less than 10 minutes and the smell was nowhere to be sniffed, I am extremely disappointed in this product as avon usually have long lasting smell, if you want this long lasting you will have to keep re applying to the air often.
I like my home to smell nice and fresh and I also buy the odd item from Avon as a friend is a rep for them. So one day browsing the latest Avon book I spotted the naturals room and linen sprays on special offer. I had seen them before but just passed the page as was not sure about them. But at half price I decided to give it a try and from all the fragrances opted for the Strawberry and Guava.
The linen spray arrived a couple of weeks later and I was eager to try it on my linen. On the back of the bottle it stated to spray it two to three times in the centre of the room to allow the fragrance to diffuse. But it did not state any instructions for using the spray on linen. I decided firstly to try it on my sofa covers to freshen them up a little bit as I brought it for this purpose rather than to use as room spray.
The room and linen spray I think cost me £1.75 which I didn't think was bad value although it is only a 125ml bottle so does not last an awfully long time. The bottle it comes in is made of clear plastic, enabling you to see the clear spray inside. It has a push spray to dispense the liquid allowing you to easily direct the spray where you want it.
As the spray is a clear liquid I was not worried about it leaving any stains on fabrics, which it didn't. The spray did smell more of strawberry than guava, but it was a pleasant fragrance but at first a little bit chemically smelling. For this reason I need to use this spray on my linen when my husband is not at home as although the fragrance smells lovely when it has settled at first the chemically smell has a bad effect on my husband's chest. Once it had settled it left quiet a sweet fragrance that lasted well.
I would buy this room and linen spray again but only if it was a similar price as I do not think the full price can be justified for such a small amount. I would recommend that you try this product but if you suffer from any chest or breathing problems please be careful when using.
As part of Christmas box, my friend decided that a basket full of Avon goodies was the way to go, A, because I always seem to be buying it and B, because she is an Avon rep, so I suppose it was like mail order service for her!
The product I will now review is - "Avon - strawberry and guava room and linen spray".
I love air fresheners and highly scented products, especially fruity one's, I am a real sucker for these and ten to veer towards these before any other scents, so this was always going to be right up my street.
The bottle itself is on the small side, though is a pump action spray, so probably lasts as long as an aerosol version, but being (hopefully) less damaging to the environment.
The bottle (is as with the rest of this range) is clear, with the contents being visible within, with this being a clear liquid, obviously coloured may well stain the linens you are spraying, so this is a must.
This (unlike many of the other products available within the Avon range) actually has a decent amount of information and directions for use on the bottle, with it stating this should be sprayed 2-3 times on linens or into a room, though I do use this to freshen up bed linen and curtains between washes rather than a room spray, this is due to the spray being quite substantial rather than mist like, and it would make my laminate flooring far too slippery to walk on!
The smell of this spray is intensely sweet, with the synthetic (though not unpleasant) smell of strawberries being determinable with there being another scent, though it is not something I would automatically state is guava, though still nice.
After spraying you will find that the sprayed linens will remain damp for at least 10-15 minutes after, so don't spray then try sitting, sleeping straight after, and of course this should not be used on clothes, especially just before wearing (or whilst, my daughter thought this was a body spray and caught her trying to spritz herself!).
Longevity of spray is not bad, but not brilliant, with the scent being there for around an hour or two after spraying, but does make the sheets feel that bit fresher, eeking out the need to keep changing the sheets ( I am anal enough to want that fresh sheet feeling every other day! Lol!).
Price wise this is available starting from 99p from www.avon.co.uk, an is available in a plethora of different scents, with new one's being added to the collection every month (black cherry is quite nice too!).
This is a nice spray that acts as a freshener for your linens, and is nicely scented too, recommended!
Thanks for reading x
*** Avon haul ***
I recently moved house and, within a few days, received a magazine from my local Avon representative. I had never bought Avon products before but had heard some good things about the products - some of them on dooyoo - so decided to splash out on a few things. I am sure to be reviewing some more of them on here of course, but the first product I'll be reviewing is the Strawberry and Guava Room and Linen Spray.
*** Room sprays ***
The cost for a 125ml bottle is £3.75, although I did not pay this much - I think I paid around £2 which seems much more reasonable. So do look out for offers from your Avon rep or the website! There are other room and linen sprays available too, including black cherry and nutmeg, and camomile and lavender.
*** First impressions ***
The packaging is quite uninspiring I'm afraid. It comes in a clear plastic bottle (which is useful to keep track of how much of the clear liquid is left in the bottle) and there is a small picture of strawberries on the front. It's nothing special really, but is simple and inoffensive enough. Underneath the small plastic lid is a pump action spray, so the product is very easy to use and is a bit different to the more familiar aerosol air fresheners.
*** Squirt it ***
The instructions on the back of the bottle tell you to spray two to three times towards the centre of the room. I did just that - and was surprised at how quickly I caught a whiff of the fragrance. The main scent is of strawberry, but it is not at all sickly. Instead it is a mellow yet fruity smell. It is definitely a feminine fragrance which I think is ideal for living rooms and bedrooms. I would recommend that you don't spray too much however, as I think the scent is quite strong - and stronger than I expected.
I wasn't sure how long the scent would linger, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that the smell did actually stay in the air for a good while - a few hours I would say.
You can of course also use this as a linen spray, which I am yet to do. However, I have used it as a last-minute desperate remedy to freshen up a smoky-smelling dress, and I have to say that it did the job well - a bit too well in fact as the smell of the spray on the dress was a little overpowering! It did cover up the smoky smell on the dress, but I would suggest not being over-exuberant with the spray on fabrics.
*** Overall ***
I think this is a pretty good product, and not bad if you can get it on special offer - although I do think it is over-priced at full price. The scent is different to other air fresheners I've used, and I may well try out others in the range in the future. It's 3.5 stars from me but I will be generous and round it up!
This room and linen spray is part of the Naturals range from Avon. This is a home fragrance product and should be used as an air freshener or linen spray, not as a body spray! The price fluctuates with each new catalogue, but the RRP is £3.75 and it comes in a 125ml clear plastic bottle. The packaging is simple and easily allows you to see how much you're using through the clear bottle. It has an attractive image of the natural ingredients and looks prettier than most home cleaning type products. The bottle has a simple pull-off cap and a spray pump underneath to release the fragrance. The plastic packaging can be recycled after use.
Recommended directions for use: spray 2 to 3 times towards the centre of the room away from your face and body.
You really only need to use a little of this spray as it can become quite thick in the air and a little goes a long way. With the recent turn to cold weather my house has been getting quite stuffy as I am out at work during the day and a bit reluctant to have the windows open to air the house out during the evening as it's absolutely freezing! A few spritzes of this and a very quick blast of fresh air from opening the windows briefly really helps to refresh the room and has it smelling nicer in no time. The smell is very noticeable to start with and lasts for a good few hours afterwards. It does not have any lasting effects however, as instead of "removing" odours in the way that something like Febreeze would, it simply adds a light perfume and masks any bad smells.
The spray has a strong natural smell of strawberries. To be honest I still don't even know what guava is, but I believe this is what lends the fragrance a slightly greener edge, as it has a sort of a herbal smell that is more grown up and sophisticated than a lot of the sugary sweet strawberry scents around. It is a fresh garden air sort of smell which I personally think is lovely. The product can be sprayed directly into the air to improve the fragrance of the room, or sprayed on soft furnishing to get rid of any stale smells. The liquid spray disappears quickly and does not leave wet or oily patches on my fabrics. I mainly use it as a general air freshener for my rooms, and also to keep my bed sheets and quilt smelling good for longer.
I have used these sprays before in different scents and they are all long lasting and good value for money. I really like Avon's room sprays and they all seem to last for months even when being used daily. A bargain product that has a lovely fresh sweet scent and works well throughout the whole house.
Avon also have several other items in this scent, these are bath & body products including shower gel and body lotion.
one of my friends brought this from the avon catalouge and never used it, so knowing my addiction to all things avon, passed it on to me.
this is a room and linen spray, which can be purchased in many different scents, including Strawberry & Guava and black cherry and nutmeg
the one that i got given to me was the Strawberry and guava variety
the bottle is plain, but also quite nice. it is a clear bottle so you can see the amount of liquid that is left and indicates when you need to buy some more. it is a pump action spray top lid, that works very well. there is also a picture of strawberries on the front, which is very attractive
This spray has a beautiful smell, it is not overpowering but its a subtle hint of strawberries, which is great in a room.
I use this on my linen, when i have washed it, it spray it all over the duvet cover and the pillow and it gives it a great scent. It doesnt stain
the linen, or give little wet marks but the scent becomes trapped in the fibres of the quilt leaving it fragranced for days.
this product is now on offer for 99p in the avon catalouge as i think they are dicontinuing the brand, which is a shame as this product realy is great.
I'd definately buy this again, its a lovely fragrance and really makes my room smell nice. Alot of people have also commented on how mice my place smells.
Although this product is a room and linen spray, i also use it as a kind of body spray, as the fragrance lasts a long time. i spray it on my clothes, and it makes them smell fresh all day.
i would recommend this to anyone, it works really well, and it is very well priced.
Whenever I became an avon sales representative last year I did try to take advantage of their sales when they reduced some of their items down in particular their naturals range which came in body wash, body lotion and room sprays as they make nice stocking fillers and birthday gifts at the last minute. During their final chance to buy avon usually charges 99p for each individual item from that scent which is being discontinued, so this was when I stock up on the sets. Originally I purchased the banana and coconut, black cherry and nutmeg, lavender and strawberry and guava sets.
This is really great value as these items can cost up to £3.75 each when newly appearing in the brochure. However my gift stock dwindled over the summer and I was left with the strawberry and guava set which I thought I would take up to university with me to the halls of residence as I was sharing a house with some boys and thought a nice scent couldn't go a miss.
However I was a little disappointed, the directions say to spray once or twice, but I don't think that amount was strong enough to conquer the musty smell of the old house or the boy smells in the house so ended up spraying it a lot more. I also found when Iost the lid that it evaporated quite quickly.
The scent also I found wasn't as nice as I thought it would be and was a bit dry and sickly smelling for my tastes, the scent also didn't seem to last very long even when I was spraying it on my clothes and room. I found that some of the other scents stuck around for longer and just seemed more pleasant over all.
However it was a benefit that it was a pump instead of an aerosol as you could pretty much use it all up and the clear bottle let you know how much you had left. I would recommend the new coconut or old lavender scents instead of this one though as they don't seem as strange or dry as this one did. With the price I got I can't really complain too much though I would say to anyone who is buying avon items, never buy anything for full price as in the next brochure it will probably have a few quid off.
I ordered this from Avon not long ago, because I had tried other flavours from the same collection and really liked them.
This is normally £3.50, but as it was on sale at the time when I wanted to buy it, it only cost me 99p which is really good value for money.
There is 125ml in the bottle which lasts you about two months, but really this depends on how often you use it. You only need a couple of sprays of this as the smell is lovely and uplifting. This lasted me two months.
The bottle is designed just like the one shown in the picture provided by dooyoo. It is a simple but effective design. Simple because there isn't too much going on in it, but effective because it looks appealing and also you know what flavour it is as soon as you look at it.
I was happy with this fragrance, but in my opinion it isn't as nice as the other two flavours I have tried. They are lavender and almond. You can also get this in black cherry and red rose, two flavours I would like to try out in the future.
There is also another new fragrance out now which is raspberry.
This smells exactly how you would expect it to, it is lovely and sweet and just like strawberries. I really like it and would recommend it :)
I bought a few items from the Avon naturals range recently as they were on offer.
One of the items I bought from my Avon representative was the 'Naturals' Strawberry and Guava room and linen spray.
The normal price for the spray is £3.50 which I think is quite expensive as the bottle is quite small in size. I paid 99 pence for the spray as it was part of an offer where some of the items were offered for this price.
The bottle is attractive looking and it is clear plastic. There is a removable cap at the top of the bottle which can be removed and underneath is a pump spray so you can spray the Strawberry room spray easily.
The liquid is also clear coloured and the bottle is 125 ml in size. There is a nice looking picture on the label which has strawberries on it and this gives me the feeling that the spray will have a nice fruity scent. The packaging is very nice and I think it would be a nice spray to give as part of a gift.
The scent of the spray is very noticeable as soon as it has been sprayed. The strawberry smell is very fragrant and is quite strong. I think the spray is quite sweet smelling although I quite like this and I didn't think it was too much.
Because the smell is quite strong I thought that only a couple of squirts was enough to get a nice fragrance in the room so it means that this spray will last a long period of time. Perhaps the £3.50 that this spray usually costs is ok then if the bottle will last for a while.
The item is called a room & linen spray although I only sprayed it in my room I didn't try spraying it on any clothes or linen as I do not really like smells on my clothes.
The item's scent is called 'strawberry and guava' although I couldn't tell if there was any guava to the smell at all - I could only detect the strawberry in the smell.
I thought it was very nice and I would buy it again. At this time of year I think it is nice to have a summary, fruity smelling spray to use and this will do this nicely.
When it comes to purchasing stuff from Avon I'm always at such a loss. I leaf through the catalogue and never do I really want anything. If I want make-up I prefer to go out and play with testers and that type of thing so I try to avoid those and general body care type of products.
However I do really like my Avon rep, Anita and I always feel I should order something just to reward her efforts! So when I spotted this priced at £3.50 a bottle I decided that as I love the smell of strawberries and I do use air fresheners/room sprays it was worth a go!
Well the spray comes in a clear plastic cylinder shaped bottle with an push button sprayer to the top of it. There is a photograph of nice succulent and plump strawberries on the front and then I'm told it is Avon Naturals Strawberry & Guava Room & Linen Spray, told something in a foreign language and the size is stated which is 125ml and the only size this product is available to purchase in. On the back of the bottle information is limited but we are told the ingredients, the recycle symbol is displayed and contact details for Avon are listed as well as a load of information in foreign languages. It's a nice enough bottle and the push button sprayer isn't aeresol so it's easy to direct etc.
Well initially I was impressed with this product. Like other Avon Room & Linen sprays the smell is gorgeous. Its basically a clear spray and you can either spray in a room or of course onto fabric, it's your choice. The fragrance really is of natural, sweet fresh strawberries. Although rich in fragrance it remains light, summery and incredibly fresh. I love it, it has to be said.
However that initial fragrance tries but fails to hang about forvery long. As a room spray I find that although I can strongly smell it when first sprayed it loses that fragrance within about 5 minutes flat. Even if you walk out of the room and walk back in you can't smell it so in that respect apart from the initial uplifting fragrance it provides it's worthless in my opinion and the original odours to become once again apparant.
As a linen spray, well it clings to fabric longer. Don't spray it on silk or anything it may stain because although it isn't greasy I still wouldn't advise it unless your willing to take that risk. As I say though I find the smell to embed itself into fabric for about an hour max really. I sprayed a little on my bedding and it smelt wonderful but when I sniffed it a bit later where I knew I'd sprayed it the smell had vanished into thin air..sadly. Although it has a use of spraying onto clothing as your about to wear them type of thing, once again it doesn't do much in the long term!
For the effects it gives I just think it really isn't worth the cost. if you want a good air freshener there are many good branded ones that offer so much more than this and if you want a product to refresh linen I think buy one percifically for that job and I write that with total dismay because the smell of this really is gorgeous!
Only available from Avon priced at £3.50 (although it is on offer at the moment for 99p) and other fragrances are available.
This review is also posted on Ciao under this same username.
I love Avon's products and I do get excited looking through the brochure when it comes every few weeks. In particular I like the Avon Naturals Range and have been buying the room and linen sprays recently because they have been on offer.
The latest one I have just bought is 'strawberry and guava' which sounded delicious in the book..so does it live up to my expectations?
I have tried a few of the other fragranced room and linen sprays and have been pleased on most occasions with them. There are quite a few now in the range including:
*Apple and honeysuckle
*Black cherry and nutmeg
*Lavender and chamomile
* Apricot and sunflower
So onto the product..
Price and packaging~
The spray comes in a clear plastic, cylindrical bottle that tapers in slightly towards the top. It has a plastic clear pump and a plastic lid.
The actual spray is clear and is quite watery in consistency and this can be seen through the bottle.
I bought this product when it was on offer at 99p which for a 125ml bottle I thought was very reasonable. The normal price is £3.50 which for what it is I think is quite extortionate.
How to use~
Nothing too hard here; you remove the plastic lid and aim in the middle of the room or onto your desired linen and give two or three spritzes.
Does it work?~
I like this spray (as I do the others I have tried) and on spraying into the room there is a real strawberry aroma. I'm afraid I couldn't detect much guava essence but maybe that's just my nasal passages!
I tried the spray on both my bedding and in my rooms and though the smell is initially there it doesn't linger and soon fades.
I found the air in the rooms seemed to hold onto the fragrance for longer than spraying directly onto my linen which surprised me as I expected it to be the other way around.
A nice enough room spray that I don't mind paying less than £1 for but no way would I fork out full price for it as I simply think it's not worth it.
For those reasons I am deducting a star.
