Cif Oven Fume Free Spray
We have recently moved home and before we did I threw out quite a few half full or nearly empty cleaning products, having a bit of a spring clean so to speak of all the products that we no longer really used on a regular basis. However, I realised that I had mistakenly thrown out the oven cleaning spray and I needed to get another one if I wanted to cook anything else in the oven without creating wafts of smoke.
Cif is a brand that although has had a name change and a bit of a recent revamp is something that has been around since my childhood and I use a lot of their products. What really attracted me to this product above some of the others is that it made fume free claims. Anyone that has used oven cleaner will know that it usually comes with a strong fumigating smell that lingers more than you would want it to. When you spray this it really is so much better than some of the other oven cleaners I have used, you don't feel choked up and it doesn't have that toxic aroma. It really is pretty close to being fume free.
When I use this I tend to spray this quite heavily, I like to make sure all the bits that need cleaning gets a good coverage. Then I usually make myself a nice cup of tea and leave the oven cleaner to work its magic. You can leave this on for quite a while if you have really tough dirt to remove. I tend to clean my oven every couple of weeks or more often if I cook anything messy, so usually after leaving the oven cleaner on for only fifteen minutes I am good to go.
There is no denying that you still require a good dose of elbow grease to give your oven a good rub and get it looking clean. However, the Cif oven cleaner really does a good job at making this as pain free as possible. When you rub it I use a damp cloth and it wipes away all the burnt up grime. This is easy to wipe off but it does take a good few minutes to make sure you have the entire oven washed and cleaned. I also always wear rubber gloves while using this because it is a strong cleaner and if you leave it on your hands it might not be very great for your skin.
As of yet we don't have any little people running around the house to keep this out of the way from, but I do like that it also has an extra safety clasp on it, just in case.
This is available from most supermarkets and I paid around £4 for my bottle. This also last for a long time and after two months I still have quite a lot left to use.
I don't think I would be tempted to buy any other oven cleaner, this works really well for me and I love the fact that it is fume free. Overall, this deserves a well earned five out of five star rating. I would recommend this to everybody, as it makes an unpleasant task that bit more pleasant by being fume free.
