“ Brand: Cif / Type: All Purpose Cleaner / Subcategory: Bleach / Category: Cleaning & Disinfectant „
I don't tend to use too many cleaning products in my bathroom, as I want to keep my cleaning routine not only simple but have as less products as possible cluttering the house. Having myself and two young children who are constantly in and out of the bath whether its having a shower or having a soak, means I need a product that is going to be tough on grime and dirt, keeps the bathroom not only clean but looking fresh as well and in a format that I like to use. I purchased this 500ml product from my local B & M for £1.00.
Why did I buy it?
I was using an Asda branded bathroom cleaner which was pleasant and easy to use, but not too sure whether it's the weather or my family in general is just getting dirtier, I didn't feel it was dealing as efficiently with a dirtier bathroom, though it worked perfectly when dirt and grime was at a minimal and it was more keeping things fresh and clean. So I needed something more hard working and cheap as well. I haven't bought a Cif product in years, and with the price, size and the addition of bleach in it I thought it would suit my bathroom cleaning needs to the ground.
How is it packaged?
It comes in a white plastic 500ml bottle with a trigger mechanism on the top to release the product. Simply turn the nozzle to open, and press the trigger to spray. The shape of the bottle for me means I can hold onto it easily and comfortably. On the front, the label has the ' Ciff ' logo very clear at the top, underneath the words ' Multi purpose '.Beanth that is a picture of the different rooms that you can use this product in.
On the back it has where its suitable to be used, instructions of use, general cautions advice, basic ingredients information and company contact details.
Less than 5% non- ionic surfactants, Chlorine based bleaching agents, Perfume.
Where to use and how
This can be used in the kitchen, bathroom and on the majority of washable surfaces. Avoid contact with clothes, carpets and textiles. Don't use on wood.
Turn nozzle on to ensure its in spray condition. Spray onto surface and wipe with damp cloth. For tougher stains, leave for afew seconds before wiping.
How do I find it?
I have only used this on and round my bath in the bathroom, but firstly I find it very easy to use. The spray that comes out of the bottle has a decent power to it and also plenty of product. It doesn't all come out all over the place so quite central, meaning if you have a specific spot you want to clean that can be done easily. Its clear in colour but quite obvious where it has been sprayed onto.
There is an obvious smell of bleach with this product, which I like. In my mind bleach makes me think of ' clean ' and ' dead germs ' so I don't mind the scent at all. Its not completely smelling of bleach, theres something else thrown into it fragrance wise ( cant tell what it is ), which makes the smell not too intense and clawring and doesn't linger for along period of time after use. You can smell it once its applied and for awhile after, but it does eventually go away.
It cleans the bathroom very well. I don't feel I have to work at getting any muck out of the bath, it just gets wiped away. It even leaves the bath looking that touch more whiter and fresher which is always a bonus! I don't find the product damages or compromises the bath at all-no discolouration or marks made, it just cleans it.
Would I buy this again? Yes I would. It does exactly what it promises on the bottle. The fact I don't have to use it just in the bathroom is a bonus, and will be trying it in the kitchen next to see how it performs on my worktops. Good price, easy to use, cleans wells and makes cleaning just that less painfull.
When it comes to cleaning I do buy an awful lot of products...mainly cos I live 2 minutes away from Poundland and this is yet another product I got from there recently and I was more than happy to pay a quid for it knowing that it usually retails at about a couple of quid a bottle usually in places like Asda and such!
The bottle this comes in is white plastic with a trigger action nozzle to the top of it complete with a turn on/off feature and on the front of the bottle we are told that it is Cif Multipurpose 'Powerful bleach cleaning, suitable for use around the home' and there are pictures on there shown of a kitchen and a bathroom sink and we are told that it gives 'Daily clean and shine'. On the back of the bottle other information listed includes being told where to use it and how, precautions are given, as is the size of the bottle (which is 500ml in this case), the ingredients are listed and contact details for Unilever (the manufacturer of the product) are given. Its a nice simple enough bottle this one, easy to use and informative as it needs to be too.
Well this is suitable to be used on many washable surfaces though we are not clearly told where we can and cannot use it though me I use it in so many places now lol!
I simply spray the really bleachy smelling clear liquid on to where I want to clean and I wipe it away either with a clean cloth or a damp one and I use it mainly in my kitchen and my bathroom plus my glossed skirting boards from time to time to spruce them up a bit.
This is very strong smelling of bleach in my opinion and iS pretty much a spray on bleach product. I find this totally effective immediately on my dirty ceramic tiles, on my stainless steel kitchen sink and taps and worktops (this even removes curry stains from those!) and all over the place in my bathroom including my toilet, skink and bath. I find this lifts up grease and grime immediately, for more stubborn stains you can leave it a couple of minutes then wipe it off though i have to admit although I can be a dirty so and so ii have never needed to wait that long and that it works mega quickly for me!
I can't say I'm enthralled by the smell of this product though it is a clean fragrance and not too in your face to be fair to it. This is great for making my toilet clean and fresh, great at stripping through grease on my tiles in the kitchen ......even good at removing water and dirty marks from my bath when I've used it and it brings things up really feeling and looking clean and what's more a little of this goes a very long way indeed.
I can't say I would go out of my way to purchase this again in the future and not because it isn't a good product but that I prefer nicer fragranced ones!
Available in Pound style and discount shops at about a pound a bottle but in all good supermarkets such as Tesco's and Asda but expect to pay about the £2.00 mark!
