I love this cleaning product, and like to have it in my cleaning armoury at home and at work, where I am a cleaning lady. I have tried most of the Cillit Bang product range over the years, but I have found that this one is the most effective at getting things really clean. The bleach must be the secret ingredient in this cleaner, as it seems to give the Cillit Bang a real boost. Any marks or stains regular cleaners can't remove I get out the Cillit Bang Power Cleaner with Bleach. I use it on kitchen worktops, toilets, sinks, baths, and even a couple of squirts into the water when I am mopping the floors. It gets rid up built up limescale on sinks and is particularly good at soap marks around baths. I always spray a bit onto taps and once rinsed and buffed it does just as good a job as vaikal limescale remover. The only problem is the bleach can ruin your clothes if you are not careful, and also I am careful on kitchen surfaces not to spray it near any food. Other than that I wipe or rinse any residue left on the surface and then buff dry. It gives surfaces a definite sparkle around the house. Very gratifying when you step back and take look at all your hard work cleaning. I find the Cillit range more expensive than many other products, but I do think it is worth it to at least have one or two products from their range, simply because they are so powerful, and they get the job done.
I have recently been using Cillit Bang Power Cleaner with Bleach. My Mum actually gave it to me because although she likes it she couldn't get on with the bottle but I will say about that further on.
Cillit Bang do a range of different cleaners for different cleaning jobs. Power Cleaner with Bleach is designed to remove grease, tough stains and mildew.
The product is sold in a purple plastic bottle with a white trigger spray. The liquid cleaner comes from a small meshed hole so sprays as almost a foam. The bottle is easy to hold and has finger grips below the trigger. The label on the front is mainly white with a pink sunburst design. It tells the customer that it is a power cleaner with bleach and has 3 little pictures demonstrating what you can use it for. These show a hob, work tops and tiles or rather the manky grout in between them. ,
The back of the label gives a list of the things you can use Cillit Bang on, these are:- tiles, work tops, sinks, baths and toilets. It also deeply cleans oven hobs, cooker tops, cupboards, fridge doors, shower doors and curtains, rubbish bins, chrome, plugholes and grout.
The instructions for use are also given on the back of the label along with a few cautions and the usual warnings which are standard for this type of product.
The trigger spray has a safety nozzle which needs to be turned before you use it. Once this is done the instructions are as follows:- hold the bottle upright and spray from 10-15cm's away. For normal cleaning you are advised to leave the product for 5 minuets before rinsing well with clean water. If you are cleaning grout its 15 minuets.
As I said I didn't personally buy this cleaner but on checking Tesco website the price is £3.65 for a 750ml bottle.
I've used a good half of my Cillit Bang now and I'm pleased with the way it cleans. The spray comes out as a white watery foam and smells, as you would expect, of bleach. This personally isn't a problem for me as I like the smell of bleach. I have used the product on my work surfaces, cupboard door and in the bathroom. It does as it promises and leaves everything sparkling clean. I have also gone over the grout between some of my tiles and I can see a real difference between the part I've done and what I haven't yet cleaned. I haven't actually left the solution for the required 5 or 15minuets as suggested on the bottle, personally for everyday cooking marks and spills and wiping my work surfaces down I think its unnecessary.
There are a couple of things I don't like about this product though. One being the fact that you have to rinse whatever you have cleaned after using the Cillit Bang. When I wipe my work surfaces down in the mornings before work I like to just wipe and go, I don't have time to rinse afterwards and I have found this does need quite a bit of rinsing because it leaves a white coating if its not rinsed thoroughly. This is just too time consuming for me.
My other problem is the trigger, its hard to actually pull back, it needs a firm sharp pull and anything less results in the foam running out as a liquid straight down the bottle and onto the floor, and as this product obviously containes bleach this is not a good thing. This is the reason my Mum didn't get on with this. She has arthritis and found this impossible to do. I wish manufacturers would consider things like this when designing their bottles as it must be a problem for a lot of people.
These 2 little gripes aside I do like Cillit Bang Power Cleaner with Bleach. It leaves surfaces clean and sinks and taps shining. Its good at brightening up manky grout too, one of my pet hates! I do think its a little on the pricey side but it does deliver what it promises. However I don't really see myself buying this again simply because of the fact that it needs rinsing and I like a product that you simple spray, wipe and go. Shame!
