Advantages: Does a fantastic job

Disadvantages: Bleach is strong

I really like Cillit Bang cleaner but due to its high price tag, I tend to only purchase it when it is on offer. I saw it on offer in Wilkinsons recently whereby you could purchase a twin set of 750ml bottles for £3.50 which I though was excellent value for money.

It wasn't until I got it home that I realised this wasn't the standard Cillit Bang, it is the power cleaner with bleach. Still, it was still Cillit Bang and I thought they would all be pretty much the same so I wasn't too bothered.

I realised almost instantly though that this one, due to the added bleach, was much stronger than the standard Cillit Bang. I expected a slight hint of bleach for antibacterial purposes, yet realised quickly that the bleach was far more noticeable than I had expected it to be and was quite overpowering.

The first thing I used it on was my ceramic hob and I have to say I was extremely impressed with the results. The formula is in a trigger style bottle and doesn't spray out as a liquid as such like most cleaners do, this one is really foamy and fizzes slightly upon impact of the surface you are cleaning which indicated to me that it was really doing the job of getting into any dirt or grime that was lurking. I tend to keep a very clean kitchen indeed, but sometimes you do get some more stubborn marks, especially on the hob and in the oven which take a little extra work to get rid of, but it was obvious from the start that my new Cillit Bang was going to find these stains a breeze.

The smell is ridiculously potent, but then most bleach based products tend to be so it is something you just get used to. I would definitely recommend gloves though when using this product as my hands did feel really dry and horrid after using this without gloves, but was nothing a little hand cream didn't sort. Although dry, I didn't get any irritations though.

I used a tea towel to wipe the Cillit Bang off the hob and was amazed at how easily the marks were removed. I was also very impressed by the delightful shine left on my hob afterwards. I previously used the standard Tesco cleaner on it before and although it came up clean with a little work, the shine was nowhere near as good as this stuff so I use this all the time now. To do the hob you only need a couple of squirts too at the most so a little goes a long way.

I did make the mistake of using one of my best tea towels to wipe the Cillit Bang away which is something I do often with my other Cillit Bang, but as this is bleach based, my tea towel soon had lovely blotchy white marks all across it from the bleach so I would recommend using proper surface cleaning rag/cloths so you don't ruin your towels!
As said, I got this on offer in Wilkinsons where you can often get good deals on cleaning products, but the standard price for a 750ml spray bottle of this stuff is £3.05 which is expensive but as said previously, a little does go a long way so it will last you a while. I purchased my twin pack around 3 months ago and I am still on the first bottle which shows how long it lasts as I do use it regularly.

I don't feel I need to use something as harsh as this all the time on all surfaces such as the bathroom as I have specific cleaners for different jobs and as I keep a clean home, the cleaners I already use do a great job. This would be a perfect bathroom and kitchen cleaner though if you do have to clean a home that is really dirty and full of grime or mildew. You are advised to leave the formula on harsher stains or grime for around 10 minutes so the Cillit Bang can really do its job and break down the grime, leaving you to just simply wipe away and rinse any excess residue off. This doesn't leave any chalky marks or much in the way of residue but you may need a little wipe over.

The nozzle can be rotated to on/off which is really handy with young children in the house as although bleach is a fantastic cleaner, we all know what damage it can do too!!

Overall, this is a great cleaner and I will forever use it on my oven and hob as it gets rid of grease marks with ease and leaves a lovely shine behind. Considering how clean I keep my house though, it is almost too good for some jobs so I save it for the horrid jobs such as the oven. I would recommend trying to find it on offer somewhere as I did because it is expensive, but it is an extremely good cleaner and you know if you do use it on your kitchen/bathroom that you are going to be getting rid of any germs too due to its disinfecting capabilities.

In summary, this is a fantastic all round cleaner and comes with a recommendation from me.

Summary: A great cleaner
