“ Brand: Daisy / Type: Cleaning Wipes / Category: Cleaning Products & Utensils > Wipes, Towels, Tissues „
I'm a bit of a "clean freak" so pretty much everyday I'm cleaning something as I have a OCD with cleaning the house all the time which annoys my boyfriend a lot! Plus I have two dogs who can be quite messy with their muddy paws, so in turn I'm always looking out for things that make my job easier when cleaning.
I've used anti bacterial wipes for a while and after I found my usual wipes was becoming expensive, I was looking for a cheaper product in Tesco and came across these Daisy multi action wipes. I've used other Daisy products and am always very pleased with the products they offer. I thought that these wipes stood out from other cleaning products due to there red plastic packaging, for 75p you get 40 wipes in total so I'm always buying a couple more packets as they're so cheap!
On the front of the red plastic packaging is a few facts about the product such as "Kill's 99.9% of Bacteria including E.Coli, Listeria, Salmonella, MRSA and C.difficile, Up to 12 hours protection & pink grapefruit fragrance"
After pulling the sticker which keeps the pack sealed you can instantly smell the pink grapefruit scent which I absolutely love and wouldn't grow tired of the smell. I find that the wipes are quite strong too and don't rip or anything and can wipe up a lot of dirt onto them.
I like to use these wipes on my kitchen sides and mucky fingerprints around the home like on the stairs or doors as one wipe is normally good enough for me and also knowing they're anti bactieral which gives me peace of mind. I also use these wipes to wipe up my dogs big muddy paw prints from the floor although I sometimes have to use about 5-6 wipes to completely clear the floor which I don't make as it's easier than getting a mop and bucket out.
Overall I'd recommend these wipes as they're good all around the house with a nice smell, They're also easy to wipe off the dirt around my home plus 75p a packet for 40 wipes they're good value!
I use anti-bacterial wipes on a regular basis - mainly to clean up after the cat has caught and eaten mice, rabbits etc.
When I was sorting out my Tesco order recently I noticed the Daisy brand wipes for just 75p per pack. I figured that wipes are wipes and decided to try them.
The full name of this product is Daisy Pink Grapefruit Wipes and, as I love the smell of pink grapefruit, I was pretty sure that I would like these.
The wipes come in a deep pink packet with the words 'Daisy anti-bacterial multi action wipes' together with a picture of a daisy. The pack contains 40 large or 80 standard wipes - this is because each wipe is perforated down the centre so you can make the choice whether to use a large wipe or whether to split one in two and just use half. I always use them as the large size as I find the half size too fiddly.
The wipes themselves are white and have the texture of a soft cloth and the grapefruit fragrance is really nice although not particularly strong. They are easy to use and gentle on my skin.
To remove one of the wipes from the packet you just have to peel back the clear plastic cover on the front of the packet, remove a wipe and then reseal the cover which will keep the remaining wipes moist ready for the next use.
The directions for use on the packet tell us to 'wipe the surface vigorously removing all traces of soiling' and then to 'leave to air dry' repeating the process with a fresh wipe if necessary. I usually find that one is enough as they are quite strong and the moisture in them does the job well.
How I Use These
I use the wipes for general cleaning around the house for surfaces, skirting boards etc., but the main use for me is to clean up after the hunter that is our cat, Mew.
As we live on the slopes of the Great Orme in Llandudno he gets plenty of opportunity to hunt and regularly catches mice, rabbits, voles and the occasional bird.
He brings them in through his cat flap into a little room on the side of the house which, luckily, we can keep closed off from the rest of the house! The floor in there is tiled so it is easy to clean.
So he brings in his snack and eats what he wants of it, leaving the bowel as cats don't eat this bit, so I often go into his room to find a bowel and sometimes various bits of a body on the floor! I begin the clean-up process by picking up the remaining bits using a cheap nappy bag and then I use one of the wipes to clean any marks off the floor freshening it at the same time.
How Good Are They?
I have found these to be very effective wherever I have used them. They clean easily and thoroughly and leave a fresh fragrance in the air.
Obviously, as with any sort of cleaning material, you need to take sensible care. You are advised to wear gloves if you have sensitive skin, not to use to clean your skin (Yuk - who would try that!) and to keep the wipes away from your eyes.
The other thing to remember is that these wipes should be thrown away with the general rubbish and not disposed of down the toilet as this could cause a blockage.
I would definitely recommend these wipes and will definitely be buying them again. At just 75p for 80 small or 40 larger wipes it's a bargain in anyone's eyes!
We have a pretty small Tesco Extra in our village and I went in a few weeks ago wanting to buy some bathroom wipes, the only ones they sold were there own Daisy brand so I thought I would give them a try instead.
Daisy is Tesco's own brand so you can only but them from there and a pack cost me 75p for 40 large wipes or 80 smaller wipes, personally I always use them as large wipes so I ended up with 40 wipes.
The wipes come in a bright pink plastic packet with a bright white and yellow daisy pictured on the front and the name daisy on them, it is claimed on the packet "they claim to kill 99.9% of bacteria including e.coli, listeria, salmonella, MRSA and C difficile and give surfaces up to 12 hours protection."
The wipes have a pull back plastic section on the top of the packet where you can dispense the wipes, the section sticks back down to keep the wipes moist whilst not in use and I found this stuck back really well and the wipes were moist right until I used the last one from the pack.
The wipes in the pack are white in colour and have perforations down the middle incase you want to split them in half, the wipes are pink grapefruit fragrance but I would say really they just smell fruity and it isn't too strong but the smell does stay in your bathroom for a good few hours giving it a lovely clean smell. I found that the wipes are pretty strong even though they feel quite thin and they stretch quite a lot rather than holding their shape like more expensive brands but that didn't alter the cleaning at all.
The wipes clean really well, they leave my bathroom shiny and smelling great and they don't leave any streaks behind, I would have to rate these 4 stars from 5 as they are not as thick and strong as branded cleaning wipes however they do the job just fine and the price you pay is excellent.
Im a major fan of antibacterial wipes. I mostly use them to clean the bathroom and toilet.Simple to use, no spraying and lots of other products and cloths, just wipe, go and in the bin.
I never tried this brand of wipes before and it was only the price that made me pick them up, and location ( under £1.00, shopping in Tesco ).
So-what does it suppose to do?
These wipes are multi action, which suggests it does multiple things:
1. Kills bacteria ( 99.9% ) including MRSA and Listeria.
2. Fragrances the area cleaned. In this case giving a light grapefruit smell.
3. Supposed to provide up to 12 hours of protection.
How does it look?
Im not really that bothered what a cleaning product looks like as long as it does the job, but the packaging is bright, simple and stands out. Most wipes tend to have the same look in regards to packaging, same or similar colouring. But this is pink, fun and not typical. You get the wipes from the front of the packet through a resealable hole. The packet contains 80 regular sized wipes but up to 40 if you split them off from each other.
How and where do you use them?
Packaging doesnt say where you can use them but where you cant, such as carpet, marble etc. So you would have to take on where you would normally use something like a disinfectant, such as sinks, work surface. Directions are basic-wipe down dirty area until dirt/soiling is removed.Alllow to air dry.
My experience?Easy to use. Thick enough not to feel flimsy and a decent size. Cleans well with a nice smell. The fragrance reminds me of fruit salad sweets-so very pleasant. Wld like though the fragrance to last longer though.
I mostly buy cleaning sprays and a packet of cloths to do my cleaning as I find that it works out cheaper to do this in the long run, however I do keep a packet of cleaning wipes in the house as well as I find them really convenient.
The wipes I am using at the moment are from the Daisy range at Tesco. I have tried a few cleaning products from this range and found them mostly to be decent for a budget range. I bought these wipes when they were on special offer and believe I paid around 60p for a pack, down from the usual price of 75p. As you can see, even at full price these are very cheap, I would usually expect to pay £1 upwards for a packet of wipes of this sort.
The wipes are housed in a very bright pink packet with a picture of a daisy on the front. It's incredibly bright, but I don't think the appearance of the packaging matters too much with this sort of product. The wipes seal with a sticky tab, I am about two thirds of the way through a pack and the tab is still sticky so hopefully the stickiness will last to prevent the wipes drying out.
These wipes are described on the pack as being multi-action anti-bacterial wipes. They claim to kill 99.9% of bacteria including e.coli, listeria, salmonella, MRSA and C difficile and give surfaces up to 12 hours protection. Obviously without the aid of a microscope I am never going to be able to confirm if this is the case, but for those paranoid about germs this will no doubt be reassuring.
Each pack contains 40 large wipes or 80 regular wipes - that's according to the text on the packet anyway. Indeed the wipes do have a perforation down the middle so can be torn in two, but frankly this makes them so small that they are practically useless. As far as I'm concerned, this pack contains 40 normal sized wipes!
The wipes have a pink grapefruit fragrance and it is noticeable but not overpowering. It's not an entirely natural scent, but at the same time it does not smell overly of chemicals and on the whole I find the scent pleasant for a cleaning product.
As the wipes are multi-purpose they can be used for a wide range of jobs around the home. The only surfaces it warns not to use them on are marble, carpet, upholstery or fabric, but I'd say that's common sense anyway. I have so far used them for many different jobs and always found them to work well.
I used them recently on the sink in the downstairs toilet and found that they cleaned both the porcelain sink and the stainless steel taps well, without leaving any streaks. I have used them to wipe down paintwork and just today went over the fire surround with one. I have even wiped a dried on spill from our wooden flooring as it was a quicker option than getting the mop out. One thing I only discovered recently is that these sort of wipes are great for cleaning wooden blinds. Our whole house has wooden blinds and the windows are floor to ceiling in some places and cleaning them is a nightmare! I had tried all sorts, even buying a weird little plastic device specially to clean them, but it turns out wipes are the quickest and easiest way to do things. These ones are perfect because they are quite moist but not soaking and leave no residue behind.
Another thing I should quickly mention is that I have not found these drying to my hands as I have with other brands of wipes.
For the price paid I am very happy with these wipes. I have absolutely no doubt that they will become a regular purchase and I would recommend them.
When I read a review a while ago on Daisy Antibacterial Multi-Action Wipes, I thought they might be a way of saving a bit of money. I love these household wipes, they make cleaning so easy, but my favourite Flash wipes are considerably more expensive than supermarket own brands; although the Morrisons ones aren't bad, the Tesco ones are rubbish. Still, these Daisy ones seemed worth a go...
At 75p for a pack of 40, the Daisy wipes are the cheapest I have tried so far. They are in a nice pink pack, made of thick plastic with a resealable opening on the front.
The wipes are supposed to be pink grapefruit fragrance, and that was the first thing I noticed on opening the pack - I got a very strong whiff of what was definitely a grapefruit scent. I'm not a fan of grapefruit itself, but I don't mind the fragrance; I was concerned that this would be too strong, but after only a few uses of the wipes I found that I could barely notice the fragrance- now even when I have a good sniff of them, the grapefruit scent seems to be hardly there. I'm not sure if this is because I am used to the smell, or the open and almost finished pack has lost its fragrance.
The wipes look much more like the various supermarket ones than Flash. They are quite thin, and have no texture on them. They are a reasonable size though, and I still only need one where I would have used a Flash wipe.
I mainly use cleaning wipes on work surfaces, windowledges and in the bathroom, or on any random smudges or marks. I find that the Daisy wipes clean very well, and I don't need to scrub with them any more than other brands. The wipes easily lift off any marks or smudges from spills or pawprints, and the surface dries quickly with no streaky marks.
The main problem I had with the Tesco own wipes was that they were visibly soapy, and in fact left a soapy mess which needed to be rinsed off - defeating the purpose of easy-clean wipes. Being a Tesco brand, I was concerned that the Daisy wipes would be the same, but they show no signs of being soapy at all, and surfaces need no extra rinsing.
The only real flaw of these wipes is that they seem to be quite dry. Flash wipes keep their moisture right to the end of the pack, but the Daisy wipes seem a little drier as I go through the pack. This can sometimes mean I need to use two where before I would have used one.
Overall though, I'm really pleased with the Daisy Antibacterial Multi-Purpose Wipes. Flash is still my first choice, but unless it's on offer, I think I'll stick with the much cheaper Daisy version.
When it comes to cleaning my home I like to buy products that are going to get the job done. Sometimes I can be a bit of a brand snob but in recent months I have tried quite a large selection of the Daisy products with some being new favourites and some being items I'd never buy again. I'm happy to try something new if it is going to save me money and so when I saw these daisy anti-bacterial multi-action wipes for just 75p in the pink grapefruit variety (pictured). This seemed like an absolute bargain and far better than the £2.00 odd I was spending on Dettol wipes or a similar brand.
These wipes claim to kill 99.99% of germs, like most anti-bacterial wipes do, which always fills me with confidence when it comes to using them. The packaging of these wipes is simple, just like any other wipes really, with a resealable sticky label covering a hole for the wipes to be pulled out from. The wipes inter-leaf so that when you remove one wipe the next wipe is at the surface of the packet ready for you to remove. The packaging of these wipes is really simple and they are easy just to throw in to my cupboard under the sink when not in use, or even behind my bathroom sink on a ledge I have.
When releasing one of these wipes I can notice a faint fruity fragrance which must be the pink grapefruit fragrance advertised online when I add these to my basket. They smell fruity like they have a nice citrus kick to them but this is not over the top or artificial smelling at all which is a huge plus point in my book...!
I keep these sort of wipes in my home for cleaning down my kitchen worktops and sometimes my bathroom surfaces too and this is what these wipes have been used for. I have a bathroom cleaner from Daisy that I have been using recently too so these wipes have been used to freshen up the toilet and toilet seat on a daily basis and to keep my kitchen worktops spotless and free of dirt, crumbs and germs after I have been cooking or serving up dinner. I have also used these a couple of times to clear up sick recently after my cat has been unwell. These wipes are suitable for all the surfaces I need them for so I have no problems using them although it does state on the packet that they are unsuitable for use on marble, carpets, upholstery or fabric and it states all the usual information wear gloves, do not get in your eyes etc the bog standard safety stuff that most adults should know about anyway!
Using these wipes is very simple and they are nice and strong to use too. I like that they do not break up if I have a stubborn surface or stain that I am trying to remove and they are ideal for cleaning purposes. I can clean my entire kitchen worktops using just one of these, two if I have made a mess, and my toilet takes just two wipes (one for the top and the seat and one for the toilet itself) meaning on an average day I can get by with using just 4 or 5 of these, sometimes less depending on whether we've been home all day or not. These is a nice amount of moisture to these wipes without being soaking wet and they do not leave a nasty film on surfaces either. I like that the fragrance of these wipes is light but yet it is slightly noticeable after I have first cleaned my kitchen sides. This does disappear once dry though as I wouldn't want to prepare food on a worktop that smell like citrus fruits and made my food taste nasty.
I would definitely recommend these wipes. They are fantastic value for money at less than 2p per wipe and you get 40 in a packet. I like that the packet is easy to reseal and the stickiness lasts for the 10-14 days that I use these wipes for and I feel like it would definitely last longer as it still had lots of stickiness to it and hadn't started to unpeeled despite our home often being 25C or higher. I know that wipes are not the most environmentally friendly product ever but they are convenient for me and as long as these wipes are not flushed down the toilet (they could cause blockages) I am happy to continue using them for such a bargain price.
I am fanatical about cleaning my home and whilst I do not consider myself to be obsessive I cannot relax if I know there are jobs to be completed hence I've earned the nickname Monica from the American comedy series Friends. As my life is considerably hectic were I juggle a full time job and care for my disabled husband, I regularly seek out products that will save time. I am aware that many consumers disapprove of anti-bacterial wipes due to the fact that they cannot be recycled. However, I recycle all of my other products in the appropriate manner, but in the case of wipes, time saving is an important factor for me. Whilst carrying out the weekly grocery shop in Tesco a few weeks ago I noticed Daisy Anti-Bacterial Multi-Action Wipes with their eye-catching deep pink packaging, so my purchase was made.
I have previously used a few products from the Daisy range, which is a Tesco brand and my experiences have been positive. Contained within the plastic packaging are 40 large white coloured wipes measuring approximately 26½ cm in length and 14½ cm in width, so they are sufficiently sized for all those cleaning jobs. The wipes are of a good thickness and offer a slight woven appearance and located in the centre are easy to tear perforations to offer two smaller sized wipes. However, I find the smaller size too difficult to use, so I always use the wipes in their larger format. The first point evident to me when pulling back the transparent seal on the upper section of the packet was the uplifting and very refreshing aroma of pink grapefruit.
Some brands of anti-bacterial wipes can be a little too moist and as a result, leave unsightly soapy marks on surfaces. However, these were a pleasure to use as the wipes are not overly moist yet effective enough to remove any grease and grime and leave my surfaces sparkling clean. I tend to mainly use wipes on areas that harbour the most germs such as door handles and toilets and as a result, I do not have to sterilise cloths to kill any harmful bacteria as I can simply discard the used wipes in the bin. What I love about these is that the refreshing grapefruit fragrance lingers for a couple of hours after use, which gives my home that "just cleaned" smell.
The blurb on the packaging gives us the same information we would find on other brands where we are informed that the active ingredients kill 99.9% of bacteria including E.Coli, Listeria, Salmonella, MRSA and C difficile. We are advised that any surfaces cleaned with the wipes are protected for 12 hours, but obviously, I am unable to evidence this claim. Whilst I have discussed the fact that I use these as a timesaver to ensure that any germs in my home are effectively removed, I am still conscious of the fact that they cannot be recycled, so I limit their use solely to the areas as discussed in my review.
I suffer terribly with the skin on my hands, which becomes extremely problematic during the colder weather where it will split and subsequently bleed. Whilst I really should use the wipes whilst wearing gloves I cannot admit to suffering any adverse affects when they make contact with my skin other than slight stinging where the skin had split on one of my fingers. The pack is easily resealed to prevent the remaining wipes from drying out.
Daisy Anti-Bacterial Multi-Action Wipes come with my full recommendation as they are more cost effective than the branded wipes whilst offering the same results. You can purchase the wipes at Tesco at a cost of 85p.
