I buy this in Poundland. I get a 440ml bottle so it is a decent size for what I pay and excellent value for money.
The cleaner comes in a plastic bottle with a spray action lid. The part of the lid where the liquid sprays out of has an easy to turn know saying on and off so it is easy to lock it when not using to save you spraying it accidentally. The trigger is curved so your fingers fit comfortably on it without having to bend into awkward positions and it is very easy to press.
The label on front of the bottle tells you the name of the product and says it kills 99.9% of bacteria and has 3x cleaning power. It tells you this is Atlantic fresh fragrance and cuts grease and soap scum.
The back of the bottle repeats the front but gives more detail. This tells me that the cleaner kills 99.9% of bacteria such as E.coli and flu virus and it has 3x more cleaning power on kitchen grease, burnt on food and bathroom dirt.
It gives you directions for use which are pretty much the same as all other cleaners. Spray 20-25cm away and leave for up to 5 minutes, wipe then rinse.
The spray comes out in a nice mist when you press the trigger. There is a lovely fresh and clean smell which is quite subtle and not at all overpowering.
After I spray it I only ever leave it a couple of minutes then wipe with a damp cloth. Even on heavy dirt or grease such as my cooker top after my other half has cooked I have always found this long enough and have never had to leave for the full 5 minutes recommended.
The product is easy to wipe and rinse and does not leave streaks. I use this on all kitchen surfaces, cooker top, sink, bin, high chair and Bumbo seat and it works equally well on all and makes everything look very clean and shiny.
Although this can be used to clean the bathroom I have only used it for this a couple of times as I always prefer to have a separate bathroom cleaner, but on the occasions I have used it in the bathroom my sink, bath, toilet and taps have been very easily cleaned and were always shining afterwards.
This will remain my main cleaning spray as it does the job well and gives me peace of mind that I am getting all my surfaces etc as clean as possible for my baby not to pick up germs. Although I go through a lot of bottles this is no reflection on the product as a small spray cleans perfectly well, it is simply because I clean my full kitchen and high chair several times each day and this obviously uses a lot of product.
I like to keep a well stocked supply of kitchen and bathroom cleaners at home and tend to pick up products when they're on special offer or if they catch my eye and will usually buy them from wherever I happen to be at the time, whilst Poundland could never be mistaken for being somewhere top-end to shop I often pop in to my local store to stock up on batteries and lighters and always come away with a bag full of cleaning products at the same time as there are often great savings to be had rather than paying supermarket prices for the same things.
This Dettol Anti Bacterial cleaner was one of my latest buys from Poundland, a well known brand name that has been around for years I didn't hesitate in adding a bottle to my basket after noticing the dark blue liquid contained in a trigger spray bottle. It claims to kill 99.9% of bacteria and is a multi action cleaner suitable for use on all hard surfaces in the home. It has been specially formulated to cut through grease and soap scum and has an "Atlantic fresh fragrance". Having used this yesterday and finding it to live up to its claims I thought it well worth reviewing as for the price I paid for mine it is without doubt a fantastic product with many uses for the home.
The spray nozzle administers the liquid as a white foamy spray, it has a light breezy aroma which is non-offensive to the nose and settles on the surfaces it is sprayed upon as a blue-tinged liquid. I used mine specifically in my bathroom yesterday as its fragrance seemed to suit that room better than my kitchen although it is formulated to be used on draining boards, sinks and kitchen surfaces so can be used wherever you want really. In use on my white bathroom suite I found it to be a very effective cleaner that removed all traces of soap scum and debris that gets left behind once you've had a bath and left the enamel looking clean and fresh. On taps it cleaned without leaving behind any chalky residue and its lingering fragrance gave me the added reassurance that comes with the 'freshly cleaned' smell that some products don't give you. I found it to be as equally good on my toilet seat and cistern and even wiped over the tiles on my windowsill with it and found that it left them looking shiny and new.
Dettol claim that this is suitable for use on glass but as I have a separate glass cleaner I didn't attempt to use this on my shower screen as I didn't want to leave any streaks behind although given how it performed on the rest of my bathroom I do think it probably would have been as equally effective on that too. A few squirts of the cleaner along with plenty of hot water was sufficient for removing all traces of dirt and I do think that a little does go a long way so can see my bottle lasting me for a good few months before needing to be replaced. I liked the fresh fragrance it left behind and whilst Dettol might be associated with the harsh antiseptic aroma of its most famous product this left behind a gentle, fresh aroma which shouldn't be off-putting to anyone. The blue tinge to the liquid makes the product stand out on the shelves and overall I thought this was a really good buy that was definitely worth the pound I spent on it.
Being a "complete" clean it could replace other products round the home that are specifically designed for use in a single room and I think the Dettol names gives this the added reassurance that it's going to be a quality product that actually works. There are tonnes of different products available that claim to clean the home and this one from Dettol is a worthy addition to the rest of the products out there, I don't think it offered anything extra when compared to other similar products but judged on its own merits it certainly proved itself to be a worthwhile purchase that delivered fantastic results. I'm happy to continue using this in my home and whilst I personally think its best suited to a bathroom given it's fresh fragrance others may disagree and find it suitable for use in a kitchen too. Where ever you choose to use this I think it's a great buy at a pound and I definitely recommend it.
Available in store at Poundland and other homeware stores including supermarkets Dettol's Anti Bacterial, Multi Action cleaner gets five stars as a rating from me and is recommended. Thanks for reading my review.
