I don't mind admitting that when it comes to cleaning the house i look for the quickest and most convenient way to complete a task and these as one of my conveniences. I generally buy these when I see them on offer and although I am not really too bothered on the make and will buy the cheapest to do the job these are certainly my favourites. The wipes can be bought in supermarkets and lots of discount stores and sell for around £2.04 for a pack of 40 wipes, this is for 40 large wipes. The packet is made of plastic and is green in colour with a darker green stripe across the top with the words 3 x cleaning power on it. There is a pull back opening on the front of the packet which has a picture of some green apples on it with the dettol logo and some information such as kills 99.9% of bacteria, complete clean and cuts grease and soap scum. On the rear of the packet there is some more information, these are suitable for work surfaces, kitchen surfaces, sinks, shower screens, toilets seats, baths and taps, electrical devices and childrens toys. These are not suitable for carpets, upholdtery and fabrics, the packet lists a few ingredients but then provides the website www.rbeuroinfo.com for the ingredients. When you open this pack for the first times it takes a little tug to break the initial seal, the wipes are white in colour and you can smell the apple fragrance as soon as the pack is opened. The wipes are pulled out of the packet easily and only one wipe dispenses at a time which is something I often find a problem with cheaper brands, th wipes are moist enough to do the job but are not soaking at the bottom of the packet and the resealable opening prevents them from drying out. These wipes really do clean well, I generally use them on the kitchen benches before I cook and on my youngests highchair to prevent illness. I always use wipes to cklean my bathroom as I believe there are just too many germs to fester on a cloth and then use again so I like something that is disposed of once the bathroom is clean. No matter what surface i am cleaning the wipes do the job well, they do not leave behnid any residue and leave a lovely apple smell. I would happily use these all the time but keep an eye out as they often go half price when Asda put their cleaning events on.
I quite like the convenience of having a pack of anti-bacterial wipes handy to give worktops, skinks and bins etc a quick wipe down between a good deep clean. What puts me off buying them is often the price, and secondly they sometimes dry out as the sticky seal can loose its adhesive qualites. In steps the newly re-desgined packaging on the Dettol Anti-Bacterial Multi Action Large Wipes. Instead of the traditional soft pack with sticky closure, they now come in a handy tub like canister (not as pictured above). The tub is similar in size and style to the old fashioned baby wipe canisters. This stops the wipes from drying out as the seal on the top of the canister is very strong, and gives a reassuring loud 'click' when you close it so you know its sealed properly. The only drawback I find to this type of container is that it is a bit larger to store in a cupboard. It is possible to recycle this once used without any problems, I just pop it in my recycling bin and the council take it without any issues. I spotted these in Semi Chem for £1.49, which gives a pack containing either 35 large wipes, or if you want you can split them and get 65 regular sized wipes. Great value for money. What I like about these wipes in particular is that they are very strong and thick. Some household wipes are very thin and flimsy and don't do a very good job of cleaning even the lightest of soiling. One wipe is impregnated with enough product to give my worktops a good thorough going over, they are very moist too, containing plenty of the fresh citrus smelling anti-bacterial fluid. Also I feel that Dettol is a household name that I can trust to do a good job, with quality products at reasonable prices. I find them very effective too. I use them for all sorts of quick clean ups, from spills to splashes on kitchen tiles, sinks and floors. I feel that they are also strong enough to tackle heavier cleaning jobs also, but I've not tired them on anything too intense. They are suitable for use in the bathroom as well as the kitchen. They are suitable for use on most surfaces from stainless steel to enamel. It is advised though not to use on carpet, upholstery, fabric, pets and personal use. They give me confidence too, in that I know once I've used them, I have eliminated as far as possible, as much bacteria as I can. The packaging states that they kill 99.9% of bacteria. The lemony scent does tend to linger for a while after using them, giving my kitchen a lovely clean fragrance that is very welcoming. Would I recommend this product? Yes definitely, they are great for all types of clean ups, and at a good price. I like that you can choose to use a larger size for bigger jobs, or just tear off a small sheet for little clean ups, offering good value for money. I also like the anti-bacterial qualities, knowing I'm keeping my surfaces germ free too.
