When it comes to having a home with a small child, cats and dogs (not to mention a partner) my floors aren't always as clean as I'd like them to be. Most of my floors are either tiled or laminate which means not only do they need vacuuming or sweeping they also need mopping. For me I like to use a floor cleaner in my mop bucket and will gladly try any floor cleaner to help keep my floor clean.
Recently while out shopping in Asda I managed to pick up the Dettol Anti-Bacterial Floor Cleaner for just £1 for a 1 litre bottle which I thought was definitely good value and worth a try. I do like Dettol products and generally find them incredibly good value for money that and a lot of their products are regularly on offer. Dettol is a name associated with killing germs and when you have a child and numerous pets this is definitely something you need.
The Dettol Anti-Bacterial Floor Cleaner in Green Apple is a basic floor cleaner which can be used on all hard surfaces so could no doubt be also used on worktops, cupboard doors etc. It has been formulated to not only kill 99.9% of bacteria (including E.coli and the influenza virus) but it can apparently cut through every day grease and grime with ease.
The floor cleaner comes in a semi transparent plastic bottle which is slightly square in shape together with an apple green coloured screw on plastic cap. The front label features the Dettol logo together with a very green theme and a few key points about the product. One the back there is further information about the product together with usage instructions, list of ingredients and contact information for Dettol.
The floor cleaner is green in colour and is transparent and although it does smell of a household cleaner it does have a synthetic apple aroma to it which is actually quite pleasant compared to other cleaners you can find and use. It has a water like consistency which is expected and dilutes as soon as it hits the water and you do get a few white bubbles appear if you pour it in under a running tap.
As I said above the majority of my floors in my home are either tiled or are laminate flooring so this floor cleaner has to be suitable for all surfaces and fortunately I find that it is regardless of the type of flooring I have used it on. It doesn't leave any residue or water marks and manages to cut through any dirt or grime that has built up (mainly from having the dogs running around!).
Now I tend to mop my floor once every other day as having two dogs is not ideal for keeping floors clean and I get the same results from the floor cleaner every time I use it. My floors are left clean and residue free. The cleaner manages to remove any food marks from the dogs dinners in the kitchen floor with ease. Little effort is required to clean the floors. I have also diluted it to use on work tops and clean my kitchen cupboard doors and it works effectively.
This is a great floor cleaner which can double up as a more versatile all purpose cleaner and hopefully every surface I have used it on is left germ free. I really have no complaints about this floor cleaner from Dettol. It does the job it claims and leaves my home with a mild apple aroma which is quite pleasant. Definitely a recommendation from me making it easy to award 5 stars.
