Easy Washing Up Liquid
Advantages: Bargain, nice smell, does the job
Disadvantages: Thinner, finer bubbles
Having finished off my bottle of the delectable Daisy, I brought my next one out the cupboard; it was this Easy in totally original with a hint of verbena scent, of which I got a twin pack of 650ml bottles in Poundland. So I was already happy. 1.3 litres of washing up liquid for £1? Bring it on!
It comes in a transparent flexible plastic bottle with a pull up lid which pushes down to close. I think the front label is attractive - it has the Easy name within a heart and a small flower amongst the product info and variety details. The liquid itself is vivid green and is relatively thick, though not as thick as Daisy (poor girl). The scent is quite sweet but not overpowering. When I sniff the neat liquid deeply, it reminds me of jelly babies! Though when I'm using it the smell I get is fresh rather than sugary sweet.
I do need to use a little more of this than I do with Daisy, though not enough that it diminishes the value of this twin pack against other brands. It produces a fair lather of bubbles that I find are finer and not as fluffy or long lasting as others. This doesn't really bother me though, so long as I have bubbles I'm happy, as I know there's enough soap in there to get through grease and food on my plates.
When I put washing up liquid in my basin, I squeeze the bottle gently while moving it in a circular motion, to get liquid all around the basin as it fills with water (rather than a blob in the middle of the basin). I do this for 3 rotations of my hand, and this much lasts brilliantly for washing all the dishes and rinsing out my cloth after washing the worktops down (unless the water is too dirty of course). I have used my current bottle 4 times and the level of the remaining liquid hasn't even reached the 'shoulders' of the bottle yet; this lasts me a good couple of weeks. At basically 50p a bottle this pleases me a lot.
It leaves all my dishes clean and free from food stains and smells. It even gets stuck on stuff off pretty easily with a scourer sponge. I don't find it leaves a noticeable scent on the dishes, but I actually prefer this as long as my dishes don't smell of stale food or grease. I don't like a cleaning smell to stick on something I'll be eating off of.
The things that lose it a star in my eyes are the thinner consistency, finer bubbles and the lid style - I like a flip up lid as I do like to get the last drop out and a flat lid means I can easily do this by standing the bottle on the cap. I can't do this with this one, though I do get most of it out as it is runnier. These things only lose it one star though, as they don't make this poor quality or bad value at all. It does the job well and I will definitely continue buying it.
Summary: Easy choice at that price
