Ecover washing up liquids not only smell great, they are also good for the skin - especially the Lemon & Aloe Vera one - plus... last but not least - they are better for the environment! They don't have quite as much lather as other dishwashing liquids but this does not affect their performance. They work really well, ...  Read the complete review

I chose Ecover washing up liquid when it was on offer in Waitrose for just a pound. I had wanted to try it before but as it is normally priced at £1.50 for 500ml I tend to edge towards the cheaper but effective brands I previously use. ****What has Ecover got that some others haven't**** Ecover is more of an ...  Read the complete review

We live in a very rural location and so our drainage runs to a septic tank and natural soak away. It is important we are careful in terms of what goes into our waste water pipes as a build up of chemicals in the septic tank would be harmful to the system. I'm concerned about unnecessary waste and the detrimental effects man made ...  Read the complete review

I tried Ecover simply because it was a brand that was known for being kind to the environment - and I like to do my bit where I can. It comes in a 1 litre bottle which cost me just £1.69 which, at face value, seemed like an incredibly good price and slightly cheaper than the market leaders such as Fairy. It comes in a plastic ...  Read the complete review

Ecover Washing Up Liquid: It's well Over (299 words)

Ecover Washing Up Liquid is available widley in most supermarkets I have been to and costs around £1.68 for a litre sized bottle. The bottle is the usual shape you would expect for a washing up liquid but the colour is light / off white instead of the usual green. Personally I find the colour a little bit off ...  Read the complete review

My housemate bought this washing up liquid and told me that I had to use it forever more as it is better for the environment. Ecover use chemicals naturally occuring in plants instead of factory made chemicals, when this goes down the drain back into the rivers it is less harmful to the wildlife. This washing up ...  Read the complete review

I have really gotten into this Ecover range as I feel a lot happier sticking with an environmentally friendly brand and so next on the list had to be their washing up liquid. It comes in a 1 litre bottle which seems quite big for washing up liquid but it is a bit pricier. The washing up liquid is in the scent of Camomile & Marigold ...  Read the complete review

As someone who works with marine life and has seen the effects of what humans put into the environment on communities I am always keen to use products that have a small impact on the environment. Ecover hits that particular nail on the head. All of the products come in the same, recycled plastic bottles that can then again be recycled. ...  Read the complete review

I would like to like 'Ecover' brand cleaning products, as they're marketed as being more friendly to the environment: their primary cleaning constituents are largely plant-based, and the y don't cause excessive damage to watercourses etc. after they've gone down the drain, and are safe if you have a septic tank, and so on. Express Review on Ecover Washing Up Liquid
by mary - written on 29/11/10
Rating:

I bought this since it was better for the environment and I didn't mind paying a little bit more. I have been happy enough with how well it works but I don't have many complaints about washing up liquids. I have noticed, however, that my hands have been getting horribly dry and chapped. When washing a big pile of dishes, I will wear gloves, but occasionally, I just want to wash a couple plates and forks, and don't bother with the gloves. Even then, my hands get noticeably dry. I just bought a different brand, just to have something else when not using gloves. Maybe I have super sensitive skin but this has never happened before nor with any other products.

Express Review on Ecover Washing Up Liquid

I do believe that Ecover is safer for the environment, but I have found since using it in Dorset for several months that it is very unkind to my hands causing cracks to skin on fingers and drying out skin so it feels very abbrasive.I also find that I have to use alot of the stuff to make any impression on the dishes even though water is hot, and leaves dishes greasy. I always rinse in hot water as I go but am not pleased with results. When I am away from the area my hands are fine, but as soon as I return then my hands are as bad as ever again. Any suggestions please, and does anyone else have this experience in Dorset?

I came across this washing up liquid for dishes while I was shopping at my local health food store that decided to start selling it out of a sudden. Why do I buy Ecover Washing Liquid. Well I do try to be enviromentally freindly and I started with the washing liquid. Being conscious about the environment and our actions, my family decided to try Ecover Washing Up Liquid as opposed the our usual Fairy Liquid.
