Good but a bit pricey for what it is

I never shop at Waitrose but 3 weeks ago I was in town and knowing I had run right out of washing up liquid I popped into our local Waitrose as I was passing right by, I'm never brand loyal when it comes to household products and usually go for whatever is on offer or is the cheapest, in this case I picked up a bottle of their Essential Washing Up Liquid, a 450g bottle costs 80p which for a basic product was slightly more than I would normally pay but I needed it and didn't want to have to go anywhere else.

The Essential Washing Up Liquid is sold in a clear plastic curvy bottle with a flip top lid. I like products that are in clear bottles so I can always see how much is left.
The front of the bottle has a white label showing a washing up brush, it informs the customer that this is Essential Waitrose Washing Up Liquid and has a citrus fragrance. The back of the bottle gives all the usual information you would expect to find on a product like this such as ingredients and instructions for use. It also gives a few warnings which are also standard for a washing up liquid, these are written very clearly and are easy to read for those who wish to.

The lid is a red plastic flip top which pushes open and clicks shut easily.
The actual liquid is as you would expect from a citrus product yellow in colour and has quite a nice lemon smell to it, the washing up liquid is reasonably thick too.

I have been quite pleased with this washing up liquid, for a basic product its pretty good quality, I didn't need to use a lot to create a bowl full of soapy water and the lather lasted reasonably well although I did find anything oily such as a roasting tin was a bit of a challenge for it but no more than any other cheap washing up liquid. It cleaned everything well enough even stubborn food that had been baked on. I mostly wear rubber gloves for washing up but on the few occasions I used this without them I had no reaction to the washing up liquid at all.

All in all this is a good basic product I would buy it again if I needed it and was passing the shop, it was good quality although more expensive than most basic ranges such as Asda or Tesco which sell for 35-40p and to be honest it didn't last any longer.

This is also available in original too.
