Advantages: great smell, leaves hands soft
Disadvantages: none for me
When it comes to washing up liquid I tend to pick up the store brand versions. However, if fairy liquid is on offer I will always buy that even if it still works out more expensive than the store brand!
The fairy liquid that I have been using for the past couple of months is their clean and care silk and orchid variety. It comes in the standard looking plastic washing up liquid bottle and on the front it has a label which is white with a purple edging. The label features the fairy name in large red lettering as well as the fairy cartoon baby. We are also told that this liquid features a touch of olay softness.
The actual washing up liquid is a lilac coloured somewhat pearlescent liquid. To use the product you should flip open the red cap and squeeze a small amount under the running hot water tap. A small amount creates plenty of bubbles and I find that if you use too much you end up with dishes literally covered in bubbles so it is wise to use a small amount and then see if you need to use more.
When you initially pour the washing up liquid under the tap what is immediately noticeable is the lovely scent of the product. It has a really sweet fragrance to it and I love it. It doesn't smell much like washing up liquids traditionally do, and smells more like a hand wash or something in my opinion. What is also nice about this product is that it does not dry my hands out in any way. I can get quite sore hands when I wash up a lot, and let's face it...no one else is going to do my washing up so I need something that won't cause that and this is the case with this product. With this product my hands feel soft and well moisturised and I can only presume this is down to the added olay which the bottle claims to have. Sometimes when I have run out of hand wash I have been known to give my hands a quick wash with this and it leaves them soft, clean and smelling lovely.
The cleaning power with this product is second to none in my opinion. It leaves my dishes clean and looking sparkling. With dishes or pots that have dried on food or that require a little more cleaning I just leave them to soak for a little while with some of the fairy liquid and hot water and then wash them as usual. They always wash up well. The fairy liquid is also excellent at cutting through grease in my frying pan. I always add a little extra to the pan and give it a good scrub and it always comes up clean.
In summary I think this fairy liquid with silk and orchid is a great buy. The cleaning power of fairy is in my opinion the best you can get but this product has the added bonus of leaving hands soft and nicely fragranced too. I picked this up for a pound from asda and I would certainly buy it again if I saw it at that price.
Thank you for reading my review!
Summary: I love it
