Advantages: Makes lots of bubbles, lasts ages, lovely scent.
Disadvantages: Olay doesn't do much.
When it comes to washing up liquid we usually choose what's on offer or a cheaper brand as we mainly use our dishwasher and use washing up liquid a few times a week. However, after discovering Pounland's extensive range of top brand cleaning products all for only a pound we've recently been buying lots of our cleaning products and therefore have been trying out lots of new bits and bobs. One thing we've recently tried is Fairy Clean and Care Silk and Orchid Washing Up Liquid, which of course, as it was from Poundland was £1 for 433ml. It is available pretty much everywhere else, including all the supermarkets but it's usually more expensive unless it's on special offer.
The product comes in a clear plastic bottle which lets you see how much washing up liquid you have left, the only problem with this is that the pastel lilac of the liquid clashes with our kitchen so we have to keep it in the cupboard. The small red flip cap lid dispenses just enough of the thick liquid meaning you don't squirt out too much which is a common problem with cheaper, thinner washing up liquids. There's a label on the bottle with the famous Fairy logo, it also states that the washing up liquid comes with a Touch of Olay, to soften the hands.
When dispensing the liquid as I said before it's lovely and thick and has quite a shiny appearance to it. At first I used the amount I usually would with cheaper brands, this created a huge mass of bubbles and I quickly adjusted to only having to use the smallest amount of liquid to get a lovely sink full of suds. The smell instantly fills the kitchen and it's lovely and summery, it reminds me of berries and has a lovely fresh edge to it. The liquid cleans dishes really well, it is especially noticeable with wine glasses left over night, with a quick wash and rinse they come up lovely and shiny. With tougher marks on pots and pans I leave these in soak for a few minutes and they clean up a treat. I have to say that the Olay element of the product didn't make any difference to me; it's true that my hands didn't feel dry but they didn't particularly make my hands feel softer either.
Overall, I've been really pleased with this fragrance and my Mum is buying all the different scent combinations as they really are lovely. You only need the smallest amount of liquid making this product great value for money especially as it does such a good job of washing up, definitely recommended.
Summary: 5/5 a slight blip but a pretty much perfect product.
