I love cleaning and yes, you read that correctly, as I find it extremely therapeutic although I probably wouldn't feel the same if I had to clean anywhere other than my own home. Over the years I have probably tried and tested all of the cleaning brands available without being loyal to any one in particular. I'm not one for purchasing a specific product for the bathroom and another for the kitchen, as I like to use something that is multi-purpose, which makes life much easier as well as cutting down on storage problems.

I've always considered Flash to be an effective cleaning product, as it has been around for years and is manufactured by Proctor and Gamble who are well known for a multitude of household products. You may recall the popular Flash advert from many years ago where a Scottish lady would hold up a bottle of Flash and state "Flash cleans baths without scratching". Consequently, it has been my first choice for a couple of years where I will bulk buy when I see it on offer. Earlier this year I spotted their newly launched range of cleaning products containing Febreze and as I enjoy trying and testing anything new I purchased a few different fragrances with this review discussing Flash Febreze Freshness with Cotton Fresh, which is an all-purpose cleaner.

~~ APPEARANCE OF THE PRODUCT ~~

The appearance of the opaque plastic container was a real winner for me, as in addition to the product being newly launched it is the vivid blue colour that won me over. If my memory serves me correctly my initial purchase was of a 1 litre bottle, which has since long gone and I am now reviewing the 1.4 litre bottle, which Flash have named "Mega Size". As I've had positive experiences with using candles and electric plug ins with a similar name to Clean Cotton I was of the opinion that Flash Cotton Fresh would offer an almost identical aroma.

There is a small image contained on the lower right hand corner of the bottle where we are able to witness an unidentifiable white coloured flower, which conjures up images of clean and fresh. However, perhaps I'm being picky here, but the vivid blue liquid doesn't really give me the illusion of Cotton Fresh. The bottle contains a large blue coloured screw top lid, which for some strange reason is not childproof. I'm surprised at Proctor and Gamble and feel that this is an issue that they seriously need to address as the bottle is far too easy to open. Whilst the product can be purchased in a more expensive spray version I always decant the liquid into a spray bottle, which is more cost effective.

~~ USING THE PRODUCT ~~

As soon as I removed the lid I was able to witness the beautiful aroma, which as the name would suggest is clean and fresh and as I suspected it matched the fragrance of the delightful Clean Cotton home fragrancing products, which I absolutely adore. I would describe the aroma as a similar scent to freshly washed laundry that has been blowing outside in the breeze. There are a number of ways in which the watery liquid can be used where it can either be used diluted or neat. My main uses are for the cleaning of the bathroom where I will spray it inside both the bath tub and sink and leave it for about five minutes to enable it to work itself into the grime. I say "grime" because I am mad for beauty products, which always tend to leave soap scum around the area of the bath where the surface of the water would lie.

After I've waited five minutes I am easily able to wipe away the scum, as the liquid rapidly cuts into it and enables me to lift it away with a cloth and with minimal effort. What I love about the liquid is that it leaves no residue and my bath tub is not left resembling that of an ice rink. It enables my taps to sparkle where only a quick wipe is needed and it really cuts down on the time spent on my cleaning chores. Whilst I own a Flash Power Mop there are a few areas of my bathroom floor where it will not reach, so I will use the liquid mixed with two parts water. I find that a bottle lasts me for months despite me using it on a daily basis.

It is extremely effective at cleaning my stainless steel hob, which on a Sunday, is always splashed with oil from my roast potatoes and gravy saucepan, as unfortunately, I am a rather messy cook! I need only a quick spray and wait five minutes and the grease is immediately lifted away with absolutely no scrubbing. What I adore about this product, which makes it the most favourable cleaning liquid that I have ever used, is the stunning fragrance that lingers for a good hour or so after use. I have never before come across a cleaning product that gives my home that adorable and lingering "just cleaned" smell.

The only downside is that the liquid causes the sensitive skin on my hands to flare up, which will result in my knuckles splitting and subsequently bleeding, but this can only be expected from products of this nature. Consequently, I always ensure that I'm wearing my Marigolds! I cannot recommend Flash Febreze Freshness with Clean Cotton highly enough, as it ticks every box for me and enables me to keep my home clean, sparkling and fresh and as a result, it receives five stars from me.

~~ OTHER INFORMATION AND INGREDIENTS ~~

Whilst I do not normally copy lengthy lists of ingredients into my reviews I feel that in respect of a cleaning product it is necessary and would advise that the liquid contains "less than 5% non-ionic surfactants, soap, benzisothiazlinone, glutaral, perfume and linalool". The bottle can be recycled once empty.

The bottle is recyclable once empty.

Whilst this product is widely available in supermarkets and the 1.4 litre bottle I currently own was purchased on special offer several months ago, the best place to buy is in Poundland who sell the 1 litre bottles.
