“ Brand: Flash / Type: All Purpose Cleaner / Category: Cleaning & Disinfectant „
I hate cleaning and I mean I really do hate it lately. However I love a clean and tidy home, as does my boyfriend when he comes over to stay. I like an ordered home and one that is always fresh though its not always easy for me to keep on top of things with my cat and 2 hamsters, me and my boyfriend and his little dog all here alot of the time and add to that my very bad health that means I can only do a bit of cleaning at a time which is why when I buy cleaning products I try to opt for brand names that I've heard of and trust rather than cheap stuff that may need more effort from me to actually work! Course I grew up watching my Mum using Flash products and so I usually buy an all purpose cleaner by Flash and have one in a cupboard somewhere or another.
I bought this from a local convenience store and it cost me £1.15 for a 500ml bottle however this is available to purchase in other sizes and in different fragrances if Lavender is not your thing of course!
No matter the size you purchase this in, the bottle appears the same. The liquid comes in a plastic, rather see-through bottle which is slightly frosted and it has a dark blue, slightly transparent twist on/off lid/cap to the top of it. On the front of it there is a label and on that we are clearly told that it is indeed Flash With Fabreze Freshness Relaxing Lavender All Purpose Cleaner and the size is stated (As I have listed already) and there is a little picture show of lavender on there and then on the back of the bottle we are told a little bit about the product and how to use it and directions for diluting it (if you want to) are given, warnings are listed and contact details for Procter & Gamble (the manufacturer of the product) are also clearly given. Nice enough, informative bottle this is and easy to open and close and use and so on and not that it affects me but I did also notice that this isn't a child proof cap/lid mind you and that may concern some of you out there.
The All Purpose Cleaner:
The liquid itself is runny like water in its consistency and lavender in both colour and fragrance. I love the fresh and well balanced pungent lavender aroma this has to it and its quite strong, again another plus point for me on that score.
Basically you can use this neat or dilute it into water and we are told on the back of the bottle not to use it on non washable surfaces such as untreated wood and to avoid aluminum, copper and brass. We are not clearly told where we can use it but as its an all purpose cleaner I pretty much have to admit I use it everywhere!
I use this on my lino floors, diluted with water and it works a treat. It lifts up grease, grime and dirt with ease and doesn't leave a greasy residue behind itself and dries rather fast too. If a bit of tough muck won't come off with the use of a mop..... fine its still gonna be removed with cloth and a splash of this, which isn't something I usually have to do to be fair.
I dilute this as well for wiping round my toilet, sink and bath, skirting boards and painted windowsills, I wipe over all my tiles in my home which I have in my bathroom and in my kitchen. I did wonder if it would work around my greasy cooker tiles but again it really does and doesn't leave them looking smeared either. I don't use this on glass or my windows but I do wipe over varnished surfaces including my bedroom and living room furniture which gets mostly dusty and again it cleans all that brilliantly.
I use this a lot neat as well for quick cleaning. My boyfriend has the use of a plastic table by his side of the bed and the mucky pup regularly spills coffee on it and the likes and puts finger marks on my bin but again with a quick wipe over with a drop of this on a cloth and it leaves things clean and looking really fresh and no matter whether I dilute this or use it neat the fresh and wonderful fragrance lingers for a good few hours in my flat.
I love this brand and I particularly like this all purpose cleaner that meets every need I require from it and I think of it as a one stop cleaning product, basically doing everything I need it to all in one easy to store and not so large bottle (well this size is anyway!). I cant fault this for its cleaning capabilities or its relaxing but still fresh fragrance and this is one that I buy often anyway and will continue to do so!
Widely available from all good shops and supermarkets!
I have many hard surfaces in my flat, with wooden floor and tiles in the bathroom and kitchen. I Like to use a decenent product on the floors and all around the house for general cleaning purposes. I first noticed this flash with febreeze when wondering around tesco looking for cleaning products. I liked the idea of a fresh scent and I had used many febreeze products in the past and they all smelled great. all purpose cleaners are so handy to have as they can literally be used on almost anything around the house. I will now go into a little more detail on the product.
I purchased a 1 litre bottle for just over £2, I cannot remember the exact price as it was a few months ago. This price is very expensive compared to other multi surface cleaners on the shelf. The tesco value one is only 26p which means this is nealry 10X more expensive than the cheapest option. However I do think it justifies the price as it works better.
Does it work?
It is a very simple product to use and very easy to use too. When I mop the floor the biottle tells me to add to lid fulls of fluid. I usually only use 1 cap full as it goes a long way. This works very well when moping the floor, it does attack grease and also helps clean up all the marks left from the weeks muddy feet walking about. It also leaves the floor smelling great, the smell hangs around for a few hours and coming home to the smell is very nice. The smell is very strong and you can instantly recognise that it is lavender. I also use this in the bathroom, because it is not very harsh it is perfect for washing down the tops and on the toilet seat. I also add this to a damp cloth and wipe down the wall tiles around the bathroom. It smells great and cleans easy. Its good for window cills too. After I have used this on the floor it looks very clean and sparkles slightly. It is worth paying the extra money for a decent multi-purpose cleaner as a little of this stuff can go a very long way.
I would recommend that you give this a try because it is a really good product. My flat looks great after using this. It doesn't have a chemical like smell, it is very clean and fresh like you would expect any febreeze product to. I will be giving this a 4 star rating, it is excellent but I think it is a little over priced. I can not afford to use this everytime because I am on quiete a tight budget. Thanks for reading my review! I hope it helped you out.
I like to keep my wooden floors looking sparkly at all times and I normally use a power mop, however, I was finding that I was running out of liquid and then waiting for it to go on special offer again meant a build up of dirt on my floors. It was for this reason that I purchased this product from Sainsburys for just £1.00 on special offer, however, if you want to purchase this you can for £2.03.
This liquid is provided in a one litre bottle and to use I simply add one or two capfuls to my mop bucket, fill it up and begin to clean my floors. The bottle is very simple to use and the packaging is quite eye catching without being over the top and just bumping up the price. There is a handy handle on the bottle making for easy pouring straight in to your mop bucket if you so choose.
I find that this liquid cuts through grease, dirt and mud very fast. My wooden floors are restored to their original gleaminess in a matter of minutes and with minimal effort. If I am feeling super lazy then I can just unscrew the lid (not a child proof cap unfortunately) and then just pour this straight in the bucket. My normal mop that I use is just a standard supermarket one which doesn't claim any special features or profess to do anything other than run liquid over the floor, however, I'm very pleased with the results of this product. There is a fairly strong fragrance to this that I wouldn't necessary say is Febreze, however, my floors are left smelling clean and this lingers in the air for a good few hours.
I am very pleased with the quality of this liquid; it's easy to use, easy to open and takes just a few minutes to clean my whole home through. The smell lasts for a few hours which is a similar amount of time to my power mop liquids and it gives me almost as good results. My main reason for using a power mop over a product like this every day is just the ease of use of the power mop. I would definitely recommend this is you prefer the traditional mop and bucket clean or if you want something you can use neat straight from the bottle. To use this neat simply apply it to the area, clean and then give it a rinse with water afterwards. This dries streak free on my floors and leaves them looking clean and smelling fresh, what more can you ask for?
I Changed my carpets at Christmas to wooden flooring as with 3 young children wooden flooring is so much easier to clean. After a good sweep the floor needs a good mob not only to be clean but also to make the whole room smell lovely so while I was shopping I decided to give this flash with febreeze a go.
To use you just dilute 1 part flash 4 parts water in a bucket mix well and off we go it is ready to use. I then dunked drained and began to use my mop. I food that the febreeze flash helped me remove dirt very easily. I did not need to put in as much effort as my usual cleaners and the floor was coming up clean but also very bright as well.
The main advantage of using this product for me is the smell. It smells gorgeous as soon as you open the bottle you get a big sniff of lavender but I thought that smell would dilute with the water but it does not. As soon as the mop hits the floor the strong smell comes flowing into the room. This is a very strong smell but at the same time it is not over powering. The smell then lasts for a good few hours I can mop in the morning at at around 2 pm I can still smell the febreeze part of the spray lasting all day.
For a 1 l bottle it is just £2 and I think it is well worth it for the amount of clean floors you can get out of it. I only use it on my wooden floors as I believe the smell would be too strong for use in the kitchen etc but I think the combination of a flash cleaner with febreeze scent is fantastic. I also purchase the spray container of this product for just £1 in pound land as I find that is good for little spots that need wiping up.
Flash with febreze lavender all purpose cleaner.
Having a lot of fake wooden floors that can be mopped over, I was looking for a cleaner that not only did the job well but also smells nice too, I stumbled across this by accident, whilst staying at my daughters house, and one of the children spilt a whole cup full of juice onto the floor, reaching for a cleaning solution I found this one and proceeded to dilute it as directed and added to a bucket full of water and a mop, and started mopping the spilage up. I noticed that not only was this product effective in cleaning up the spills but it also left the floor gleaming and smelling lovely and fresh too.
What I personally like about this cleaning solution also is the fact that it doesnt have to be rinsed off after like some of the other cleaning solutions I have previously tried, it is great at getting stubbon marks off caused from people not taking off their shoes upon entering the house.
It also takes off any sticky remains of childrens juice on the floor and also residues of sweets, where the children have dribbled. It is suggested that you use 60mls of the product to 5 litres of water, therefore you dont have to rinse if you do this, if you use it neat which you can then you will have to rinse well afterwards.
This comes in a plastic bottle with a screw on off lid, but children can open it so be careful where you leave it.
It tells you on the bottle to use neat on painted surfaces and varnished too. You could always try a little on a test area if you are unsure. It is great for most general work surfaces or tiles and I found it to be really effective on my double sink which is stainless steel, it did leave it shinny and smelling fresh and georgous afterwards.
Keep away from children. Keep away from eyes if the product did get into your eyes rinse well throughly with water.
Rinse and dry hands after using this product if you do not use gloves.
People with sensative skin or damaged skin should avoid prolonged contact with this product.
soap, benzisothiozolinone, glutaral, perfumes, butylphenyl methylpriopional, hexyl cinnamal, linalool.
Produced by Proctor and Gamble.
This product is recyclable.
I also clean the yard outside where I live as it cleans well and also leaves everywhere smelling fresh and lovely.
It is also good for cleaning the bathroom, and the toilet and can be tipped into a container with a spray attachment to get into those akward to reach places.
Thanks for reading and rating my reviews.
As you are probably aware I absolutely love cleaning, as I find it so therapeutic and to enable me to effectively carry out this task it is essential that I use good quality products. Whilst there are many items that I buy where I am not particularly loyal to any brand, I often find myself purchasing Flash for my cleaning needs. Several months ago I noticed that Flash had introduced a new range of cleaning products, which contain febreze freshness with one containing relaxing lavender. If you are familiar with my reviews you will be aware that I adore lavender, particularly as it delivers such a relaxing and calming scent. Consequently, the bottle was placed into my trolley and this review discusses my experience with using the product.
APPEARANCE OF THE PRODUCT
I often find myself becoming rather overwhelmed at the dozens of cleaning products that are on the supermarket shelves and this is one of the reasons why I've also remained loyal to Flash, particularly as I have found some of the cheaper brands very ineffective. The new febreze freshness range immediately caught my eye and I found myself purchasing two bottles; one of which was bright pink and I really cannot recall the name of the fragrance and the lavender, which was bright purple. Whilst I always use spray dispensers when using products of this nature, in an effort to save a few pennies I chose a 1 litre bottle, which has a bright blue screw top lid, as my intention was to decant the liquid into my empty spray bottle, which I had kept from a previous Flash product.
The liquid is presented to us in a sturdy plastic opaque coloured bottle, which easily allows us to see the bright purple contents. It is only when I started reviewing products some 13 months ago that I realised many of our household items are manufactured by Proctor and Gamble who are also the owners of Flash.
MY EXPERIENCE WITH USING FLASH WITH REFRESHING LAVENDER
What initially surprised me with this product is that the screw top lid is easily opened and whilst products of this nature should be kept out of the reach of children, I really feel that Proctor and Gamble should have provided a lid similar to what can be found on a bottle of bleach. The watery liquid can be used either diluted or neat and I often use it mixed with two parts water to clean those awkward to reach areas on my bathroom floor, which my Flash Power Mop is unable to manage. I have to say that I was really disappointed with the fragrance, as I am barely able to detect the lavender aroma and this product smells no different to me than the other Flash products that I have used in the past. However, whilst the aroma is not what I had expected, it is extremely clean and fresh.
As previously stated, I decanted the contents of the bottle into a spray container and retained the bottle solely for reviewing purposes. Whilst I find this type bottle suitable for pouring the liquid into a bucket or bowl when diluting with water, I find it extremely difficult for cleaning areas such as baths and sinks where I prefer to dispense the liquid onto the entire surface and leave for five minutes or so before I start cleaning. Consequently, I used my spray bottle to apply the liquid to the entire inside of my bath and returned a few minutes later and proceeded to wipe the areas in question. Whilst I clean my bath twice a week I can always feel many gritty areas, which are caused by soap scum from my mountain of beauty products, but thankfully only a small amount of elbow grease is needed to thoroughly remove, which is often not the case with other products that I've used in the past.
Whilst some consumers purchase cleaning products solely for their cleaning effect, I also purchase mine for their fragrances, as I like nothing better than to smell a clean and fresh aroma when I have finished. Flash effectively removes all traces or grease and grime with some areas requiring a little more pressure. I have used many cleaning products in the past that have required a second application, but thankfully in my experience Flash need only be applied once. A beautiful refreshing aroma is left lingering for a good while after use and all of my surfaces are left sparkling clean. However, there is definitely no aroma of lavender remaining, so it you were considering purchasing this for its' fragrance you will be rather disappointed. This is an all-purpose cleaner, which I find extremely favourable, as I am not one for purchasing separate products for worktops, floors, bathrooms etc and we are advised that the liquid can be used on hard washable surfaces.
I find this product particularly effective on my stainless steel hob where I spray all over the area and leave for a few minutes. I then simply need to wipe gently with a cloth and any grease or food spillages are instantly lifted away with no need to apply any pressure. I find that I need to scrub the sink, as it is not quite effective enough to effectively remove any grease on its' own.
You may be aware that I suffer terrible problems with my hands, which often split and bleed and unfortunately, Flash exacerbated my problem, particularly as I would use it without gloves, which is my own fault of course. Consequently, I always wear a pair of rubber gloves when using this product, as otherwise I suffer the consequences for many days afterwards.
OTHER INFORMATION AND INGREDIENTS
I do not normally believe in copying lists of ingredients into my reviews, but as this is a cleaning product I feel it is necessary, so I am providing the details as per the reverse of the bottle:-
"less than 5% non-ionic surfactants, soap, benzisothiazlinone, glutaral, perfume and linalool".
The bottle is recyclable once empty.
PRICE AND AVAILABILITY
I was fortunate enough to purchase my bottles of cleaner when it was initially introduced where I paid £1 for a 1 litre bottle. I have checked online to find a current price and would advise that until 25 April 2011 you can purchase Flash with Febreze freshness from Tesco for £1.88 for a 1 litre bottle or two bottles for £3.
I can highly recommend this product, but have removed one star due to the lack of lavender fragrance.
I hope you found my review useful and would thank you for reading.
