Harpic 100% limescale remover claims to
dissolve limescale better than bleach
Kills all germs
Promises to do plenty but does it. Comes with plenty of warnings on the bottle about how it is only suitable for toilet bowls and not for any other surface including stainless steel.
We live in a hard water area. I am not just talking hard water I am talking stand still for half an hour and watch it invade like creeping ivy. I am usually a bleach freak and will use gallons of bleach a week. A large amount down the loo to try and shift limescale from the bowl. Bleach doesn't touch my limescale but turning it white did until now.
To be honest I picked this product up
A. Because it was a pound in Poundland
B. Because I knew the Harpic brand
C. Because I wanted it to fail so I could moan to Harpic personally. (grumpy old woman syndrome)
I dashed home, instructed both children and hubby to have a wee as the loo was out of bounds for the next hour.
Once they were all out and wee free, I unscrewed the cap and carefully directed the bottle at the rim of the toilet bowl, the easy to use bottle mean't it hit the area I was after brilliantly, it's a beautiful dark blue colour which I also liked, as it made the loo look clean and hid that limescale form view. It's thick so it clings to the toilet bowl as it runs down.
I was rather eager to watch as it slid down the pan and some of it formed a pool under the water level right where the problem patch was. I set the kitchen timer for one hour and walked away. You can leave it for ten minutes but with limescale this bad I was in for the long haul. Kim and Aggies tips had all failed and so had commercial cleaners I had tried, so I knew it must be bad.
One hour later I lightly scrubbed it with a loo brush, I was hopeful at this point as I couldn't hear or feel the scrap of the brush on the limescale so I flushed.
Well I was stunned, not one bit of limescale remained the toilet bowl was gleaming as though it had just been fitted. No blue stains remained just one very fresh smelling and limescale free toilet bowl.
A product that actually does what it says, how refreshing. I will use nothing else now, just pass me my harpic.
Worth every penny, now they just need to make one for around my kitchen taps
Well done Harpic, a brilliant product that works.
Summary: Go and get some if you are fighting limescale
