“ Brand: Harpic / Type: Toilet Cleaner / Category: Cleaning & Disinfectant „
As I may have stated before when it comes to my bathroom I am a bit of a germaphobe and have the odd cleaning products scattered around my bathroom to ensure its pristine-ness! This Harpic toilet cleaner is one of those that always has a place in the back of my bathroom cleaning cupboard.
*** what it does ***
Kills 99.9% bacteria
Removes limescale and stains
Effective cleaning with maximum bowl coverage
*** My opinion ***
The harpic toilet cleaner is a green thick liquid and the bottle has a narrow pointed spout at the top for easy application around the rim of the toilet bowl which is ideal for me! To be honest I prefer to use this product for the scent more than its efficiency in cleaning limescale and stains in which case I much will opt to use bleach. I find this harpic cleaner does not remove stains so easily and requires a good scrubbing to remove them whereas bleach does a much more efficient job!
The pine fresh scent is lovely and is exactly what it says on the bottle! Very similar to a pine air freshener that I can pop down the loo! It also masks any unpleasant smells far better than any air freshener I have ever owned! Leaving it in the loo overnight, the bathroom and toilet still has the smell so it definitely is long lasting which is good value.
I normally pick up a 750ml bottle for around £1 in my local poundland and it lasts for about 3 months! I would definitely recommend it for anyone who wants a cleaner to freshen up their bathroom and clean their loo all at the same time :)
I am lucky enough to have more than one toilet in my home and so I do have to buy more than one toilet cleaner. I usually buy which ever one I see on offer or just a none brand. I find the none brands quite good value for money but I do like a branded one too. This one I spotted on offer at my local store and decided to buy it since I had bought the brand before but not this fragrance.
It does come housed in a plastic bottle which has a nozzle which fits nicely around the rim of the toilet. For a 750ml I paid just £1 for this product. I think this is a good offer price. This cleaner is green in colour, also fresh looking. It has a really nice pine smell to it. The smell is quite strong but not too overpowering. It has a nice smell of which I find quite a strong smell. The liquid is very easy to squeeze from the bottle because the bottle is quite a slim one and not bulky.
This does claim to kill 99.9% of germs and to remove lime scale. I have found that it is a good cleaner and it does clean my toilets very well and leaves them smelling nice and fresh. My toilets smell of a nice pine fragrance and not like an old smelly toilet as some cleaners can tend to be, with this cleaner the fresh smell is really nice and pleasant. It clings to the bowl when pouring it into the bowl.
It is easy to rinse when the toilet is flushed. One flush is enough to rinse the cleaner from the toilet bowl with no problems. It does cling nicely to the toilet bowl. I always pour some toilet cleaner in my toilets at night time and to allow it to work through the night and then just flush in the morning. This cleaner rinses well after leaving it overnight.
Not much is needed to clean the loo. A little does go a long way with this one and so it is very good value for money. The quality is good too. I think if you love the smell of pine, this one would be very suitable for you toilet. Even if you are not so keen on pine fragrance then it is still a nice product because it cleans extremely well indeed and so worth the money.
I highly recommend this one for anyone to try. It works well to clean the toilet and also has a nice fresh smell too. Harpic is a well known brand and this one is a nice product. I will most definitely buy this one again. If a cleaner works well in my toilets then I will certainly buy it again. This one is a nice product and helps freshen, clean and remove dirt from toilets.
I rate it 5 stars.
One room in my house that needs constant cleaning and freshening up is the toilet room! I am lucky that my toilet is in a separate room to the bath, so there is none of the constant bickering about needing the toilet whilst someone is in the bath ( a fact I have take full advantage of whiling away a good hour a night away from the kids!).
Though there are four of us in the house, two little smelly bums and one big one (not me of course!), so with such constant use the toilet needs wiping over at least twice a day.
Alongside this fact is the fact we live in a hard water area, meaning that there always seems to be an unreasonable amount of limescale forming around the water line, so when I saw this product on offer for "2 for £2.00" recently in Asda, I decided that any thing that helps with the constant cleaning duty could only be a bonus.
This particular one was appealing to me as I have always loved the smell of pine, with it being (in my opinion anyway) been the smell of clean bathrooms from as far back as I can remember!
This particular boasts 99.9% bacteria kill, 20% more fragrance an removes limescale and stains.
To use it recommends that this be applied via the curved up nozzle (makes it much easier to squeeze it out where it is needed), applying the green liquid under the lip around the whole toilet bowl.
It states that it should be left for a good 30 minutes to work, which I have actually foun nigh on impossible, as my daughter is a nervous pee-er, the second I pour it in the bowl she is suddenly desperate to go, so I do tend to do it half an hour before bedtime (and hope the kids stay in bed!), then either brush round and rinse before bed, or even leave it over night the brush round in the morning(there is still plenty of residue of the liquid there in the morning).
Once brushed round the bowl does look lovely and clean, and once the liquid gets swirled around in the freshly flushed water, leaves a nice pine scented froth in the bowl, that not only freshens up the bowl itself, but the actual room too.
There are some restrictions for use, these being to keep out of reach of children and animals, no contact with the skin or eye's, do not swallow, do not mix with other household detergents and do not use this to clean anything else other than the toilet bowl.....common sense really!
I found that this 750ml bottle lasted me a good month of use (I still found myself preferring to bleach the bowl at night, habit I suppose!), and I will be buying this again for the scent alone!
