Harpic Power Plus Toilet Cleaner
Advantages: Cleans away those nasty stains
Disadvantages: Perhaps price
Cleaning in any home requires you to find the right product for you and sometimes the cheapest variety can sometimes be the best. When it comes to cleaning the toilet then I have some issues which have been resolved due to this product.
I have a downstairs toilet which is not used that often but since having more friends come and visit this has been used often. The toilet has marks on the bottom but these are marks which seem to never disappear.
I have in the past used various cleaning chemicals in the hope it would eventually disappear and leave the toilet restored back to the previous colour which was white.
I found a review on another website promoting the Harpic toilet cleaner and the recommendations were very high so I thought whilst it was on offer at £1 I would buy some and give it a go.
I poured some of the liquid down the toilet as requested and just left it overnight and the next morning I opened up the toilet and instantly the smell was fantastic. It was kind of powerful at first but the liquid had definitely been working hard.
I flushed the toilet and to my dismay it had cleared the horrible mark at the bottom of the toilet which had been there for ages. I was surprised at first it managed to do that so quickly and for a cheap price.
I found the product thick but not over the top like bleach can be when you use it. The product claims to do plenty of things and one of those is kill germs. I think in all fairness most of the cleaning products kill germs but I do wonder whether they remove them entirely.
I use this product now around the rim of the toilet and now I pour just a small amount every few days to keep the toilet looking clean and fresh. I do believe the bottom of the toilet had lime scale but I might be wrong.
The bottle does say it can remove lime scale and is five times better then bleach. I think the results I had proved it is better than bleach as bleach never helped my mark disappear at all. The smell is not as powerful as bleach either so it means no watery eyes when you open up the toilet for usage.
I would say that the current price is around £2 for a 750ml bottle and mine lasts for about 10 days due to not needing as much now. If you use this in small dosages often you end up not having these marks reappear and you also get the added benefit of knowing that you're killing germs with a very powerful product.
I would perhaps like the price to be perhaps cheaper but I guess you get what you pay for at the end of the day and for me no other toilet cleaner comes close to producing the results that this Harpic toilet cleaner have produced.
I would highly recommend this product to anyone who has a problem with cleaning toilets or has maybe the odd stain which is not disappearing because this works very well.
Summary: A very good cleaning product
