Advantages: seems to work for some people
Disadvantages: stinks, didn't work for me
I bought this spray recently after reading rave reviews about it on Amazon and Dooyoo. I bought a 500ml bottle from Home Care Essentials through Ebay for £5.95 including p&p.
I have had black mould stains on the bath sealant for quite some time and thought that perhaps this would get rid of it and save me having to replace the sealant. Unfortunately it didn't work for me. I followed the instructions, which were to spray it on the affected area and leave it for 30 minutes before wiping off with a clean damp sponge cloth. I treated the stains with this twice and there was a very slight lifting effect but not something anyone would notice. Perhaps it would have worked if I had treated the problem earlier, I don't know, but I am somewhat mystified at the rave reviews I have seen for this product. It appears to be simply a bleach spray and as I had already scrubbed at the stains with bleach then this was unlikely to make much difference. I have also used this product on some black stains around upvc windows but again it didn't work any more than using a bleach and water solution.
This product smells very strong and I kept windows open while using it, but I had a headache afterwards which I put down to this as I don't get headaches much. If you do try this product you might want to use a face mask as an extra precaution, wear rubber gloves, and do make sure you keep it well away from children and pets. It does have a child proof nozzle which means you give it a squeeze and a quarter turn before use.
I will probably use this again around the bathroom tiles as a general purpose cleaner, just to get it used up - and also on any fresh mould stains that arise, but for the purpose I bought it I didn't get my money's worth on this one.
Summary: bleach spray
