In Poundland last week I noticed they were selling two packs of High School Musical kitchen roll for £1, this worked out at four rolls so a very good saving considering this kitchen roll is usually priced at £1.99 for two rolls.

I only know of High School Musical because my ten year old granddaughter was very much a fan recently, although her interest seems to have waned rather in recent months. I have not seen the films although recognise the characters on the wrapper.

This kitchen roll looks great on my kitchen roll holder, it's brightly coloured and has a very modern design. The rolls are of average thickness and I have found them to be ideal for cleaning up various spills around the house.

They're not actually as absorbent as other kitchen roll I have used in the past, although to be honest I wasn't expecting such a gimmicky product to excel in it's cleaning abilities. It's a good enough kitchen roll for most things, it's just that I seem to need more sheets than usual for some jobs simply because it doesn't mop up liquids as well as other brands.

A good example is the area around my kitchen sink, my hot tap has sprung a bit of a leak and when the tap is running a little water will accumulate around the base of the tap. Ordinarily one sheet of kitchen roll would mop up this water, but when using the High School Musical kitchen roll I always have to use two sheets for the same job.

They are stronger than I thought they would be. Just yesterday I gave my cooker hob a good clean and I was surprised at how much scrubbing these kitchen rolls stood up to. When using two sheets at a time I was very impressed that my fingers didn't rip through the paper and it made my job of cleaning a greasy cooker much easier.

One good thing about these is because the kitchen rolls are decorated so nicely they are ideal for use as napkins, it was my granddaughter's 13th birthday on Monday and her mum used these on the buffet table. I also plan to use individual sheets of the kitchen roll when I have my BBQ party (weather permitting!) on Sunday as I think the theme will appeal to the youngsters who are due to attend.
