      I personally wouldn't reccomend these!

I was having a few of the girls over the other week and wanted everything smelling and looking so fresh and so clean even my loo so I popped into town to see what I could find.

I came across Bloo 3 in 1 Gel Air Freshener for the loo for just 99p and decided to try one out.

I noticed they came in different colours and fragrances but I picked up the dark yellow coloured, lemon burst fragranced Bloo and hoped for the best.

The air freshener comes packaged in a half cardboard half see through plastic case so you can see the product inside as well as read the info on the cardboard. The Bloo 3 in 1 comes with 'Clensel Technology' apparently, it's a gel air freshener AND a toilet cleaning block! The smiley faced loo on the packet sort or drew me in too.

The new Bloo 3 in 1 with Clensel technology will leave your toilet sparkling clean and your bathroom smelling fresh all day long. It cleans and foams with every flush, continuously fragrances between flushes and prevents limescale.

That's an awful lot of promise on the back of the packaging!

There are directions for use on the back of the packet it comes in.

Firstly clean your loo thoroughly including under the rim - I bleached my toilet in fact as I often do!

Clip hanger into Bloo 3 in 1 unit - very simple to do, could of done this with my eyes closed, no serious!

Hang the assembled unit over the toilet rim using the adjustable hanger to ensure that the block is snugly and securely fixed under the rim and the gel is facing you - again a very easy task, and the hanger is easily adjustable too so if your loo is larger than the norm you can quite simply expand it slightly to allow it to reach the rim.

So my Bloo was in and yes I could smell the fragrance, it was a subtle fruity, why yes a slight lemon scent. It was OK, nothing that special in fact the smell was quite fake and warm, if that makes sense? No not 'warming' as in pleasing, I mean 'warm' like a lemon that's been left in the sun for too long and lost it's zingy, fresh scent. I flushed my loo after use and watched my gel block, I couldn't see it foaming to be honest all I could see was the water flowing over the top of it. I was expecting an extra burst of lemon to hit my nose instead it remained just as subtle as what it began smelling like. The fake lemon fragrance really didn't grow on me at all, and I don't feel like it benefited or cleaned my loo either.

As for having a number 2 in the loo this really did not work in the freshening up department instead it struggled to eliminate the bad odours or even hide them slightly for that matter. The foul odours and the half pleasant scent of fruit sort of wafted around my bathroom fighting each other until my nose could take no more.

I left my bloo in for one day and lobbed it in the bin afterwards as it was useless, the scent wasn't all that nice really and my loo was clean from the bleach I'd used previously not the 'foaming' of the gel block, which actually didn't foam!

I'm glad I only paid 99p for it, but even them 99 pennies were a complete waste!

It works and leaves your bathroom a fragrant palace

Whilst out and about randomly shopping for any bits and pieces I felt may be needed, I began gravitating towards the household section and came across this product. Aparantly it would serve the role of leaving my toilet 'sparkling clean' - if only it could do the rest of my house! A fresh smell was also promised that would last the entire day - getting my hopes up now! Other similar ones were priced dearer, so I thought, why not give this one a blast and see if it proves itself to be worthy of being a permanent fixture in my life. I had heard of the brand, so that was a step in the right direction. Jeyes are a global brand of hygiene products and household cleaning items. Being mainstream it's not a surprise to find that they spawn sales of over £175 million! In particular, the company have been producing loo cleaning products for over 30 years.

My main focus when choosing this product was its effectiveness, although the funky colour did attract my attention! In bright light it appears to be like fuchsia and is in the shape of a fat hourglass (if you place it on its side and squint) - that's the actual gel. The gel is enclosed in a plastic holder with 4 brackets at the back which allow for the gel to slowly disperse with each flush. The rim holder part ahs to be attached manually, which doesn't pose an issue as it's a simple procedure.

The next stage is to clean the toilet thoroughly, especially under the rim - no point having remnants there and only making the block half as effective. The plastic lip then needs to hung over the toilet rim. The adjustable hanger makes it easy to position the block in an ideal place so that the gel is facing you. It should be located in the flow of the water, thus ensuring that every flush attracts the lavender smell and the Anionic Surfactants and non-ionic surfactants disperse throughout the toilet.

There is the hazard sign for irritant on the back of the pack, with clear guidance that this product should be kept out of the reach of children. It can cause irritation to the skin and there is the risk of damage to eyes - can't quite see how someone would attach this to the toilet, then make contact with their eyes. Unless of course, it was such an emotional experience. Should this occur, it is recommended that you rinse your eyes out with ample water and then seek medical advice. Also, another bizarre one, but I guess precautions have to be taken - should you swallow it, again, medical advice should be sought immediately.

Did it live up to its promises? Well, actually it did - my bathroom now has a funky lavender smell to it and it has given my toilet a new lease of life - even though I still clean it manually every now and again. I purchased this 3 weeks ago, and its still going strong. It also prevents limescale, so for the long, happy life of your toilet, it's worth it. A cheap product that works and, it is claimed on the packaging, that Royalty make use of this particular brand - can't beat that now, can you? It can also be purchased in lemon burst. You can get it from as little as £1 from a Tesco store near you!
