Jeyes Bloo Acticlean
Advantages: clean purple loo
It is always nice to make sure that you have a clean toilet, but in trying to do so, this means that there are a lot of heavy bottles of various products that all do a different job. You also have to remember to regularly use these products.
This is when I was shopping in Tesco and I came across Bloo Acticlean Cistern Block Purple in a twin pack and were retailing at £1.25, this was only 63 pence per block. They also had these in blue, but I opted for the purple as it is my favourite colour.
The Bloo Acticlean Cistern Block is a great way to keep your toilet clean by releasing a foam which has cleaning agents that keeps your toilet clean and helps to stop the build up of lime scale.
The block is easy to use, you take a block out of the cardboard packet, the block is wrapped up in some pleated paper, but you do not have to remove the block from this as that will dissolve in the water. You then place the purple block into the cistern at the opposite end of the water inlet which is by the float.
You then need to wait 10 minutes for the block to settle before flushing the toilet. When you are installing the block it is best to make sure that you have cleaned the toilet thoroughly before hand so that the block can fight the daily build up of lime scale and not have to fight what is already there.
Once you have placed the block into the system you will watch your clean clear toilet water turn purple and it will be foaming your toilet for up to four weeks, although this is dependent on the number of usages of your toilet. If is easy to detect when you need to place a new block into the system as the bright purple colour that is released when the toilet is flushed starts to fade away.
In reading the back of the packet the block contains no greater than 30% Anionic Surfactants, 5-15% Polycarboxylates , less than 5% Nonionic Surfactants and they also contain Limonene. When you are not using the block and you are storing it away you need to make sure that it is kept in a cool dry place and as like all cleaning products they need to be kept out of the reach of children and you need to avoid contact with the skin and eyes.
This is great as it is something that you put into your toilet system and it is used with every flush until the block has dissolved, so it cleans and refreshes your toilet every time you flush. As opposed to bleach or other toilet cleaners you have to remember to regularly clean you toilet with the product Bloo regularly does the job. It also does not leach a harm chemical smell as the chemicals are in the water, unlike bleach it leave a horrible smell behind after use.
I find that a block usually lasts around three weeks in our house and have bright purple water makes the toilet look so much cleaner, although one the block has dissolved the water shade rapidly diminishes so you need to make sure that you have another block on hand ready to put in.
Overall for 63p every 3-4 weeks I think that they are worth every penny and every week or so I thoroughly clean the toilet and the Bloo Acticlean Cistern Block just makes sure that the toilet stays lime scale free in the meantime.
Summary: great looking loo
