Morning Fresh Washing Up Liquid
Advantages: Cheap, smells nice, works well
Disadvantages: Bubbles may not last for a large load of dishes
This is yet another cheaper cleaning product I have purchased in an attempt to be thrifty. I am really not bothered about Fairy Liquid anymore, as all the alternative washing up liquids I have bought in the past few months have been just as good, if not better. Therefore when I saw this Morning Fresh washing up liquid in Sainsbury's recently, I had no qualms about buying it.
There are 3 different fragrances of washing up liquid offered by Morning Fresh - Original Fresh (green), Lemon Fresh (yellow), and Meadow Fresh (purple). While I normally automatically buy the lemon version of things, I decided to get the Meadow Fresh version just for a change.
The washing up liquid comes in the usual curvy clear plastic bottle with a small circular lid that you can flip open and squeeze the product out of. All very similar to the shape of Fairy bottles, however the bottle does seem to be made of thinner plastic, and therefore feels a bit flimsy. This doesn't bother me - while the bottle is definitely not as sturdy as some other washing up liquids, it's not going to burst open or break apart - and the smaller amount of packaging used, the better, right?
The Meadow Fresh version is a nice dark purple colour so I like the look of the bottle sitting at the sink in my kitchen.
The bottles are 450ml.
USAGE AND EFFECTIVENESS
Morning Fresh say that their washing up liquid contains plant derived actives (whatever they are) and real citrus extracts to help cut through grease.
The liquid itself is a decent consistency - it's not especially runny so you're not going to lose loads of this by just squirting it into the bowl. It creates lots of bubbles, and I have found that these will last for a reasonable amount of time, provided you don't have too many dishes. If you have a lot of dishes to wash, however, it'd wouldn't be out of the realms of possibility that the bubbles would go away and you'd need to fill a basin with new water and washing up liquid.
I have found that after using this, my dishes are spotlessly clean and shiny... no complaints about how this washes whatsoever. It has cleaned frying pans and woks easily, and cuts through grease, as promised.
Even when using this without washing up gloves on, it did not dry out or irritate my skin.
One of my favourite things about this is that it fills the kitchen with fragrance, even after pouring away the bubbles and rinsing out the sink. The smell can linger for a couple of hours afterwards. The Meadow Fresh version smells quite floral and pleasant.
PRICE AND VALUE FOR MONEY
This costs 90p for 450ml bottle. Fairy costs around £1.70 for a 433ml bottle, so you're getting this for about half price. I bought this about 3 weeks ago, and the bottle is only half done, so I do feel this is value for money.
WOULD I BUY AGAIN?
Yes! It works, it's cheap, and it makes my kitchen smell fresh and lovely.
Summary: A good bargain washing up liquid with a lovely scent
