Morning Fresh Washing Up Liquid
Advantages: Quite cheap, okay for easy to wash dishes.
Disadvantages: Need to use a lot for each wash, not good for burnt or dried on food.
As with most cleaning products in our house we seem to get through loads of washing up liquid in our house. I do prefer to use Fairy but if it's not on offer I always opt for a cheaper brand. A couple of months ago I picked up a bottle of 450ml bottle of Original Morning Fresh Washing Up Liquid for just 79p in Tesco.
As with most washing up liquids, Morning Fresh comes in a clear plastic bottle so you can see the liquid through and how much is left. There's also a clear flip cap lid which conceals a small hole through which the washing up liquid is dispensed. The bottle has a very simple design which is all that is needed for this everyday product and the labelling just details the logo and scent of the washing up liquid.
When using the liquid the first thing I noticed was just how thin it is. I turned the bottle upside down and without squeezing the bottle a big splodge of washing up liquid dripped into my sink. Obviously after the first use I realised that I had to be quick when dispensing the liquid but I did waste quite a large amount on my first go. Once the liquid was in the bowl and under running water the lather builds up quite well, but I probably have to use two or even three times the amount I would use of Fairy to get similar bubble results.
As I start to wash the bubble disappear really quickly although the washing up liquid does seem to help with breaking down dirt and grease it does take a little hard work to get dishes clean.I have found that dishes washed soon after eating are okay to clean but any dishes left overnight are very difficult to clean. Pans which have any burnt on stains or food are very difficult to clean with Morning Fresh and have to be soaked for about 10 minutes in hot water before attempting to wash and even then it's a difficult job.
Although Morning Fresh is cheaper than some brands of washing up liquid I don't think it's cheap enough to justify the poor results I experienced. It's very thin so you end up using a lot and although initially it bubbles a lot they soon disappear and washing up isn't an easy task. It's definitely worth paying a little extra for a better brand.
Summary: 2/5 worth paying a little extra for a better brand.
