“ Brand: Morrisons / Type: Bathroom & Toilet Cleaner / Category: Cleaning & Disinfectant „
We have been shopping lately at a new branch of Morrisons which has opened up near to where we live. Consequently, we have been trying out a few of their branded products. One of the things we have tried in the [past few weeks is their lemon bathroom mousse cleaner.
We decided to try this as we usually pay more for a branded product and as this was a little bit cheaper we thought we'd give it a try. It comes in a 600ml can and we paid around £1.30. We shook the can before use and as directed and the foam ejected quite forcibly from the can. I was personally a little bit disappointed that it didn't smell very much of lemons (like Cif does, for instance) but we left it to do its job on the surface of the bath and then wiped away as directed.
Now, we do not have a particularly dirty bath, I have to say, but having said that, I was personally a bit let down by this mousse's ability (or inability) to removed the dirty rim. We had to give it a lot more welly than we normally would with our normal cleaner.
Added to that was the fact that it didn't rinse away too easily and it left smears everywhere it had been applied. The smell of lemons was very weak and disappeared very soon after the solution had been cleaned off the bath surface.
Over all I cannot say I am at all impressed with this product. It appears cheap but also very ineffective and a waste of money. I like their drinks but so far I am not impressed at all with their bathroom cleaner.
We have loads of cleaning stuff in our house, loads!
One of the things we use is mousse for cleaning the bath, sink and toilet and usually it's Cif but my mum recently gave Morrisons Lemon Bathroom Mousse as it was about 30p cheaper than the brand I mentioned...
The mousse is 600ml and is sold in a big metal container (recycle please!) which is blue with a cute shiny duck on it and a yellow plastic lid. You need to shake the can to get it to froth up ready to spray it where you want to direct it.
The front says: 'Powerful cleaning action. Prevents the build up of limescale, soapscum and watermarks', which sounded pretty good to me :)
Morrisons say their product is Quality and value and gives great results with minimum effort which is why I like this sort of cleaner as you can just spray it on and leave it to do the job!
The ingredients contain ammonia but you can't really smell it as the lemon scent is stronger.
The directions say to hold the can upside down and spray about 15-25cm and then leave for 5-10 minutes and then just rinse away.
The container is pressurised so you have to make sure you don't over heat it and keep away from polished surfaces...
Made in the UK I expected this own brand to be good but it was very weak compared to Cif.
The spray wasn't as thick and it soon dissolved. I would not say it removed any grime that was around the bath and I still had to clean the bath out after with a cream cleaner so it didn't save me any work after all!
You expect a mousse to grip any dirt left after bathing but it didn't at all, in fact I thought it was rubbish and not worth the money (£1.22)
Only one star from me and I hope we don't get it again, it smelt nice but that's it :(
