Mr Muscle Oven Cleaner is something we've used for a few years as its very effective at removing baked on grease, grime and dirt on even the dirtiest and oldest ovens I personally find.

Our oven does not get cleaned that often and its usually my job when its time to do it. The cleaner costs around £2.50 and is available in most shops. The can has 300ml of foam which lasts quite while as we don't clean the oven that much as we use our microwave more than the oven.

I simply shake the can and spray and out comes a thick white foam which you have to leave over the surface of the oven for around thirty minutes while it gets to work at removing the grease and old food.

The smell from this product is horrible beyond words unfortunately. I would strongly recommend that you open all the door and wondows to the kitchen BEFORE you start to use the spray because the smell will almost knock you out. It is toxic, the can states this and it recommends it being used in a well ventilated area and also to use rubber gloves for protection as it is an irritant, as I have personally found to my cost.

I didn't use the gloves and my hands looked like they'd been ripped of the top few layers of skin after I had finished wiping over the oven with my bare hands and a clean damp cloth.

The oven came up shiny and almost new and hundreds of times better looking than it was before but not as good as the picture on the can. I didn't need to scrub as the grime just cameoff easily on the cloth.
The smell hung about for a long time afterwards but once we heated the oven up for an hour or so it disappeared.
