Mr Muscle Shower Shine Daily Shower Cleaner
I purchased this spray from a well known discount super market a couple of weeks ago whilst doing a grocery shop. I wouldn't usually be drawn in by this type of product (i.e.spray daily and it cleans without any elbow grease) but we have recently put our house on the market and I thought this would ease the inevitable mad clean before viewings.
The spray promises to "help to prevent the build up of limescale, soap scum and grime" within your shower if sprayed every day after use. It can be used on most surfaces within the shower area and states that it is "safe for use on fibreglass, porcelain, chrome, tiles, glass, plastics, acrylics and shower curtains".
As instructed, I have used this spray daily in the morning after I shower. I am quite generous and usually ensure most of the shower has been sprayed. You then just leave the spray to work it's magic - no scrubbing, rubbing or wiping, just left to soak in.
I have been using this for approx 2 weeks and haven't noticed a massive difference in the tiles and shower tray but I think I will over time as this spray prevents the build up of any nasty dirt. I have found that when I do actually clean the shower though it is easier and doesn't seem as dirty.
I have however noticed a big difference with the glass door to the shower cubicle. I always used to find cleaning this a bit of a struggle as I would have to use bathroom cleaner then glass cleaner to get a sparkling finish. I now find though that the door is not nearly as dirty and I can just clean it with glass cleaner without any hassle. It also looks a lot cleaner from day to day which makes a big difference.
Although I do love a good bargain and keeping an eye on my spending I believe some household cleaning essentials should not be avoided for cheaper brands because some higher priced brands do clean better, have longer lasting results and can be picked up fairly cheap on offer anyway!
Mr Muscle is one of them - one of the great household brands and I remember from an early age watching all their crazy adverts on the TV.
I purchased Mr Muscle Shower Shine for my old house last year - when I had a shower built into the ensuite next to my bedroom. By the time I left the property after splitting up from my ex, I still had half a bottle left... and when moving into my new house I now have... a bath only :-( However although its called Shower Shine it does state on the labels its suitable for baths too - I also picked up a tip from my mum - that this shower shine is much better at cleaning windows then an actual window cleaner!
This currently retails between £1 - £3 for 500ML and you can also buy in 1L bottles... Look out for it on offer, all major retailers sell this!
About the bottle and spray nozzle
The bottle is made out of plastic and is transparent. The bottle is quite thick in width and gets thinner as it goes up to the nozzle. There is a spray nozzle on the top which is cloudy white and orange in colour. There is a safety cap on the nozzle with two options to turn on and two options to turn off if you click it round. The spray handle is not hard to use but not too loose at the same time. The bottle contents are 500ml.
About the label
The front label has been revamped now compared to the above image. The label is purple and orange in colour and shows the image of a new computerised Mr Muscle and a shower head at the bottom.
The label claims:
* Never to scrub again
* Prevents limescale build
* Prevents soap scum and grime
* Sparkling clean
* Quick and easy
The label also shows Mr Muscle is part of the Johnson family company - which are a top brand which comes to household products.
There is no "back" label on this bottle as such but there is more information printed on the back of the front label which you can see by turning the bottle round and looking through the liquid. This label is white in colour with a blue font.
Directions for use
* Start with a clean shower - immediatly after showing spray the shower with a light mist of shower shine all over the wet surfaces and the curtain / door. Do not rinse / scrub / wipe off.
* Run the shower before entering to rinse the shower and bath floor.
* Always stand on a non slip surface when in the shower / bath.
* Do not use on damaged / cracked surfaces.
About the liquid
The liquid is completly transparent and when you look at it in the bottle it has bubbles that sit on the top. When the bottle is shaken more bubbles appear. When it comes out it can be mistaken for water - the only give away is the little bubbles that come out.
About the scent
I'm not good at desribing scents but unlike other Mr Muscle products the scent from this is not overpowering - the best way I can describe it is almost like a very faint bathroom cleaner. It just smells clean!
Overall I am very happy with this product as it does exactly as the label says it will do and it does so much more (my bath and my windows)
It works really well on your windows as no matter if you use loads of elbow grease or minimum effort you never get product smears, it smells nice, and it cuts through dirt just like it does in showers and baths!
A little really does go a long way - you don't need to spray loads to get the best out of this and from my old house I still have over half the bottle left - 6 months ago!
As the product claims, I have never had to scrub I simply leave on for a couple of minutes, let it work its magic and wipe clear. I never see limescale in my bathroom, with regular use it doesn't make my bath look grimey, it always looks sparkling clean and it is actually quick and easy to use!
Nothing is worse than the scent of an overpowering bathroom cleaner but as previously mentioned this spray is not like that!
Like all good household sprays it has the click round button on the nozzle which you need to turn round otherwise the spray will not work - great if there are kids running around!
I've been using this product for years now and I wouldn't be without it as I haven't had to clean the shower either. It's so simple to use you just spray it onto your shower screen or cubicle doors, literally takes seconds to spray and you just leave it to dry. The product stops those streaky water marks from appearing and so avoids the need for cleaning. It also means that the shower screen or cubicle doors always look like you've just cleaned them, which you have! As you only need a few sprays each time a bottle lasts for ages, I keep mine in the bathroom cupboard for whoever is last to shower in the morning to give it a spray.
The bottle comes with a good spray pump so you get an even coverage and no dribbles. It also has on and off positions on the nozzle to make it child friendly.
I'm quite gullible I suppose when it comes to buying cleaning products for my home and tend to buy specific cleaners for specific jobs, I've used 'all in one' wipes and sprays that are said to be suitable for multiple surfaces but then tend to think that they're not as powerful as something that has been specially formulated for use in a specific area. I've got a glass shower screen at home and white tiles in my bathroom which need wiping over on a daily basis to get rid of water marks or shower gel residue that gets splashed about when I have a shower and rather than use a general cleaner to give them the once over I buy Mr Muscle's Shower Shine, a daily shower cleaner.
The shower cleaner is a clear liquid which is sold in a trigger spray bottle, it can cost around £2.50 for 500ml's but is available in store at Poundland for just a quid and tends to be something I pick up when needed. The manufacturers claim that it prevents a build up of limescale, soap scum and grime and that it's effective on most shower surfaces including fibreglass, porcelain, chrome, tiles and glass amongst others and can also be sprayed on shower curtains. Unlike some cleaners that advise you to spray on and then wipe off this one should be sprayed over all wet surfaces after showering and then just left alone to dry in its own time and whilst this might appear to be a strange way of cleaning I've found that it is effective at doing what it's supposed to do although admittedly I will wipe it off my shower screen as I find that it's prone to streaking if just left to dry.
The liquid doesn't have a strong smell to it other than being something 'clean' and unlike the Mr Muscle glass cleaner which has a harsh vinegar tinge to it this one is mild and inoffensive. I use my shower cleaner daily after having a shower and find that it leaves my white tiles looking clean and fresh, there's never any chalky residue left behind and whilst I do tend to wipe over my shower screen after spraying it contrary to the directions for use I find that it leaves glass looking clear and streak free. I don't live in a hard water area so don't tend to have a problem with limescale so can't really say if it is effective at stopping it from building up but as far as how it performs as a cleaner then I have no complaints with it at all. You do have to give it the benefit of the doubt when you start using it as instinctively I find that I want to wipe it off as that's what you would normally do with any sort of cleaner but this one does work as stated and is great for when you're in a rush and just want something to quickly spray and then leave alone.
For how much I pay for this I can't fault it really, it doesn't have a harsh smell that some cleaners can have and I find it good at what it does, it's easy to use and keeps my shower, tiles and shower screen looking clean. It doesn't leave behind that just cleaned smell that some fragranced cleaners can do though and for me it's something I use in conjunction with other products when I give my bathroom a thorough clean, for daily use though this is fine and I find that a bottle will last me a good few weeks before needing to be replaced so I do think it represents excellent value for money especially when I can pick a bottle up in Poundland at a fraction of the price it tends to sell for in the major supermarkets.
All in all this is a decent product to try, it fits in well amongst my other cleaning products and is one that I reach for everyday. Recommended. Thanks for reading my review.
I'm a bit hit and miss when it comes to cleaning the downstairs shower; I'll often be in a rush and not get around to cleaning it straight away, but I like to make sure it gets a wipe over at least 2 times a week. This product it great because it works and because it's really easy to do so I have less of an excuse not to spare a few seconds to do it!
Mr Muscle is a very popular and well-known brand that's been going for a while now, and I trust their products to be at least reasonably effective and trustworthy. Their Shower Shine spray, a product of Johnson (again, reputable and a leader in home care products), comes in a clear bottle with a white/orange twist off spray mechanism at the top. On the front is a purple label with the Mr Muscle logo at the top and details of the product underneath tell us that using this means we'll 'never scrub again!', which is quite an appealing thought!
If you turn the bottle around you can see through the clear plastic and the clear liquid to see the instructions on the back of the front label. A separate label on the back would have been easier to read but I thought it was quite quirky doing it this way. This is designed for 'daily shower cleaning' and claims to prevent build up of soapy scum and limescale. It can be used to clean various shower surfaces including chrome, glass, tiles, plastics, fibreglass, enamel and acrylics.
I tend to use this shortly after having a shower if possible. To use, simply spray a mist of the liquid on to the wet surfaces you want to clean (you can include shower doors / curtains), then rinse or wipe it off. This isn't a product where you need to get a sponge and scrub away at it; in fact, it distinctly says 'don't scrub'. I find that using the shower to rinse areas I can reach with the shower head works well, then I just use a damp sponge to get the rest. Then just give the shower an overall rinse before using again to ensure all the product has gone.
The spray mechanism itself is very practical to use and you can turn the square plastic around the nozzle in to an on / off mechanism for an added bit of safety. I find it easy to get a light mist from the nozzle and the bottle is a decent enough size that it tends to last quite a while because, depending on how large the surfaces you're cleaning are, you don't tend to need too much each time. The liquid itself has a light scent but nothing major, just enough sometimes to catch a slight fragrance of 'clean' when you're done.
It notes that Shower Shine shouldn't be used on damaged surfaces, natural marble, brass, gold-plated fittings or finished wood. I've used this all around the downstairs shower cubicle and have found it really cuts the time it takes to clean it because it's quick to spray, quick to wipe off and then a final wash down finishes the job. It leaves the shower looking much cleaner and I don't worry so much about damp water going moldy in the corners, limescale or general scum from so much shampoo and shower gel. It leaves surfaces looking like they've just been cleaned which makes me happy, and with a slight scent of freshness, so I can't really fault the product.
All in all I would recommend this for general shower cleaning if you want a good job done but for it to be a quick and easy affair.
I tend to buy 500ml (£1.99, Sainsbury's) but it is also available as a 1L bottle (for around £3.19, Tesco)
Mr Muscle Shower Shine
Not long ago we had our bathroom re-decorated and bought a new shower. Our previous shower used plastic shower curtains, which we didn't really have to worry about cleaning. However, our current shower has a clear screen which can become dirty quickly as it gets splashed with water, shower gel and shampoo. The shower only gets cleaned properly once a week, by which time it takes quite a bit of effort to scrub off all the muck that's accumulated on the screen, so we wanted to purchase something to give it a quick clean throughout the week to make the weekly clean less arduous. Consequently, we've started spraying it every day with Mr Muscle Shower Shine.
'Five In One'
We decided to purchase this particular spray as it claims to be a 'five in one' product. Its five promises are:
(1) Daily use means you never have to scrub again!
(2) Prevents limescale build-up in your shower
(3) Effectively prevents soap scum and grime
(4) Leaves the shower sparkling clean
(5) For quick and easy cleaning
Using the product
This is a very easy product to use. You simply spritz it on wet shower surfaces (including curtains and doors) immediately after showering. And that's it! No scrubbing, no rinsing, no wiping off any residue, you simply spray it wherever it's needed and then leave it to do its job. This is a great product to use, therefore, as people tend to be in a rush in the morning, and don't have much time to be faffing around cleaning. With Mr Muscle Shower Shine, we simply have to wait until the last person has used the shower in the morning or evening and then spray it onto the shower screen. The whole process takes about ten seconds.
And...does it live up to its promises?
In a word, yes! Since we started using this shower spray, we have noticed that our shower screen looks almost as good as new. Prior to using the spray, the screen would start the week looking pristine and sparkling, then gradually became dirtier as the week progressed. With a daily (or twice-daily if the shower is used morning and evening) spritz of this spray, however, the screen stays clean and sparkling all week, which is a massive improvement. The spray leaves no residue on the surfaces, and we can no longer see any build-up of limescale, shampoo or shower gel.
Mr Muscle Shower Shine has also lived up to its promise to make cleaning easier, with 'no need to scrub'. Because the shower screen is getting a bit of a clean everyday, there's no build-up to scrub off at the end of the week, meaning that a quick wipe is all that is needed. I was a little sceptical of the bottle's 'Never scrub again! promise prior to using it, but it really is telling the truth. The weekly clean of the shower is now much easier and far less time-consuming, with very little effort required.
Price, availability and value for money
We purchased this product from Tescos where they were selling two sizes of bottle: 1 Litre for £3.19 (31.9p per 100ml) and 500ml for £1.98 (39.6p per 100ml). I have also seen this product being sold in Sainsburys and Asda, so it is clearly widely available in supermarkets. We chose to buy the larger (and better value) bottle, and I'm glad we did so, as this a great product that we will continue to use. Despite using this on a daily (or even twice daily) basis, we've found that a little goes a very long way, and after a good few weeks of using this spray the level of liquid remaining in the bottle has only gone down slightly. We tend to use around three spritzes each time we use this product, although we only use it on the shower screen, so I suppose people may use more if they use it to spray their entire shower each day. Nonetheless, this is a hardworking product with which a small amount makes a big difference.
This spray comes in a trigger-spray bottle with a child-safe cap. The end of the nozzle can be turned around to 'off' to prevent any liquid from being dispensed if a child happens to get hold of the bottle, which is a handy feature as I know from experience that young children can be a bit of a nightmare around cleaning products!
It is also worth noting that this spray cannot be used on certain surfaces. It cannot be used on gold-plated fittings, worn, damaged or cracked surfaces, resurfaced enamel, brass, natural marble or finished wooden surfaces. Nonetheless, these types of surfaces seem to have problems with many types of cleaning products rather than just this one.
Overall I've been incredibly pleased with this product, as not only has it made my shower look clean and sparkling throughout the week, it has also made cleaning the shower a much easier and less time-consuming task. I'm always a bit sceptical about products that make numerous claims, but this is a product that really does live up to its promises. Its a hard-working spray which requires very little time and effort to use, and I also think that it's a good value for money product, particularly if you choose to purchase the larger one litre bottle.
I think that this is a fantastic product, and I will certainly be replacing it when my current bottle (eventually) runs out. Anything that make cleaning less hassle gets bonus points from me, so I'm giving this spray an outstanding score of five out of five!
Mr Muscle Shower shine is a great product in my personal opinion, which helps eliminate the build up of limescale in the shower and it also removes soap scum, even hardened on scum and all without much effort other than a quick squirt.
The clear plastic sturdy bottle is see through so you can see how much you have used and how much you have left.
It is easy to keep hold of, even with wet hands and will not fall out of your grip. It has a handy on/off nozzle and trigger spray and when dpressed it delivers a fine mist at the area you are aiming at.
The smell is quite strong so it is advisable to use in a well ventilted area I feel, and keep the windows open otherwise it can catch at the back of your throat and make you cough as I have personally found out to my cost.
It is also advisable to wear protective gloves, says the bottle, but I never do and it has not caused me any irritation or itchiness like some other cleaners have done and I do suffer from sensitive skin.
The product is simple and easy to use. Just spray and leave for a few minutes and then wipe over with a clean damp cloth.
There is no need to rinse off and you will be over the moon with the sparkling and clean results and no smear glass doors.
A great product that really works. It is cheap at only £1 a bottle and will last for ages as only a bit is needed for great results every time.

I have been living in our new house now for almost a year. When we first moved in I was very excited about having an ensuite with a free-standing shower but then I suddenly realised that I had no idea how to clean a shower cubicle effectively! Over the last few months I have tried a variety of different cleaning products to get the cubicle clean but have been really let down by many of them- usually because they cause the glass to have streak marks on it which make it look unclean. Luckily, I came across this Mr Muscle Shower Shine and it's great!
This is not a very inspiring bottle at all, in fact it looks quite like a value product as it's plain white with an orange nozzle- very similar to Tesco value range. Shame it doesn't have a value price tag! It shows a picture of a very shiny looking bathroom and the name of it 'shine' is very clear so you are in no doubt as to what you expect from the finish of this product!
The bottle isn't see through so you cannot see how much you have left although I have noticed that if you hold it up to the light you can see the line of where the liquid is up to. It's a standard cleaning type bottle where you have the little grooves in the neck of it suitable for fingers to hold whilst you're using it.
Using the spray
The way to activate the spray is to pull the trigger which activates the spray. The nozzle has a safety mechanism on it which you can turn from 'off' to 'on'. If it is on 'off' then the trigger cannot be moved so will not spray the cleaning product. You spray this onto the surface directly and then leave it for a few minutes before wiping away and giving it a rinse. The trigger is very easy to pull and quite satisfying as with each tiny movement of the trigger comes a spray and it's a good amount of spray too. If you hold it about 10cm from the shower cubicle and aim it at the glass it gives a good coverage which is great, unlike the shower creams you can buy which you have to spread around yourself! Because you do get a lot all at once it can run down the glass very quickly so I tend to start high!
When I sprayed this for the first time I noticed that the smell wasn't anything particularly strong or recognisable. It is just a 'clean' smell, rather fresh but nothing so strong that you can tell what scent it actually is. Considering that when I am using this I am usually standing in a shower cubicle I am glad it doesn't have a strong smell else it would be quite overwhelming.
I then wipe this away from the shower fitting, tiles and glass panels with a damp cloth. I find that it doesn't leave streaks unlike other products. You do have to apply quite a bit of pressure to the glass panels to ensure that all the stains of water are removed but the effect is great. The tiles and shower fixtures always look really shiny afterwards so the name of this product is very appropriate that's for sure! I like that the cubicle actually looks as though it is well cleaned afterwards it is very satisfying. It removes limescale well too, we seem to have a limescale problem in this area and it builds up quickly but this cleaner does remove it without too much effort required.
I do really like this product and I'm glad I came across it. I had found many different cleaning products over the last few months which I Have tried out on the shower cubicle to try to get it looking clean and streak-free and nothing has had a good effect so far apart from this. To get the cubicle clean it does take more effort than any other surface but I guess that is just the nature of it being glass.
I like that the smell isn't strong and it doesn't stay around afterwards. I don't like strong smelling cleaning products so this is ideal for me.
The bottle isn't exactly inspiring and does look like it's a cheap product but at the end of the day it is only the bottle and it's how well the product inside it works that really matters to me and not what the bottle looks like.
The spray is great how it covers a wide area as you trigger it so it helps you to spread it. I find that when I've used this my shower *does* shine which is what you would expect from such a product. It is definitely very well named and tested!
I am pleased I bought this now and I will be continuing to buy it in the future. When I bought this it was around £2 which i don't think is bad value for money as it will last quite a while and it does work very well. I bought this from my local supermarket in the cleaning aisle and it is also available in shops such as Wilkinson's too.
We recently moved house and became the proud owners of a shiny white newly fitted bathroom. The last thing i wanted was the grime, streaky water marks on the tiles. After reading the reviews on this site i thought the shower shine seemed a good product and i'd give it a squirt!
I bought mine from Asda for a litre bottle it cost £2.24 much better value than the 500ml at £1.57. The bottle is a clear trigger spray with a clear and orange spray handle. The label on the front has all the instructions on the back of it, which you will need to read through the bottle and clear liquid.
I used to think these everyday shower cleaners would take up too much time or i would forget to do it but its so simple and quick its easily done and finished. I have my shower in a morning jump out whilst wrapped in my towel just give all the tiles a spritz open the window and carry on with my day. I was expecting an overpowering chemical smell like normal mr muscle products but was pleasantly surprised. Its reminds me of summer but i cant put my finger on exactly what the fragrance is. But its a light subtle fresh smell. Not sickly or over powering.
When its dried.......Having two children who splash lots in the bath and a husband who is impossible to house train im impressed. I only use it the once in the morning when i shower, so then hubby showers after work and the kids bath in the evening but the once is enough. I have been using it about a fortnight now and have probably used less than a fifth of the bottle probably much less.
Overall its a fab product. I thought it was a bit pricey not knowing how long it would last but now i have seen its a good price, even if that bottle lasts me 2 months only its good for the time you save scrubbing and constantly having shiny tiles/shower screens etc. The bottle advises its suitable for most surfaces but please check and read before you buy.
I get quite lazy when it comes to cleaning my bathroom, so I like to buy products that make life a lot easier for myself which is why I love the Mr Muscle product range. I pretty much use his products that are for all rooms in the house and the latest one to tell you about is my use of this Shower Shine product. I had purchased it as my shower was starting to get a bit dirty being white and I just wanted it to go back to its sparkling brand new way, how it always used to look and I prayed that this product would do just that.
This comes in a tall clear plastic bottle with a spray head to make life easy. The label is blue and has the Mr Muscle logo on the front with big type stating the name. It also has an image of a shower and claims that you will 'never scrub again!'. This is a product by SC Johnson and it is recommended to be used daily but I have to say if it is used once a week I am doing well. On the reverse is another label which is where you will get all of the information on how to use it and health and safety warnings.
This should be kept out of reach of children and do not breathe spray. If it comes into contact with eyes, rinse immediately with water and seek medical advice. Use only in well ventilated areas and avoid prolonged skin contact with this product also. This spray should not be used on worn, damaged or cracked surfaces, gold-plated fittings, brass, marble, finished wooden surfaces or resurfaced enamel.
This product is meant to help to prevent build up of limescale, soap scum and grime. It is ok to be used on most shower surfaces such as: fibre glass, porcelain, chrome, tiles, glass, plastic, acrylics, enamel and shower curtains. It is pretty much fine for all showers as I have never had any problems with it taking effect. I always use this spray usually after I have had my shower and then just spray this over the shower surface and the curtain. From here on it should take effect in keeping your shower clean.
The product smells pretty much like most household products but reminds me of a vinegar like scent. I do find that from using this spray that it seems to be helping the shower a lot and it has gotten rid of a lot of the build up that was on the shower before. The spray has never caused any irritation to my skin and is very straightforward to use. It is best to just use the recommended amount that it says on the bottle as you don't want to use too much.
I don't have a really dirty shower so have never had to use this on extreme situations but the odd bit of grime on the shower this will take care of it along with another bathroom cleaner for surfaces on top of this will be more than enough. I think overall this is a very effective product to use in the bathroom especially if you use your shower frequently. I wouldn't go using it everytime I use the shower though as I feel once a week, part of the usual cleaning routine is enough to maintain a well kept shower.
If you want to get hold of some of this Shower Shine then it can be easily purchased from any supermarket or bargain shop such as Home Bargains. Asda are currently selling this, a 500ml bottle for £1.57 and the 1 litre bottle of it will cost you £2.24 which is still a really good price as a bottle of this will last you a good couple of months if not much more.
If you want more information then the official website www.scjohnson.co.uk/ is where you can find the details on this.
About six months ago we move into a new build house with a brand new sparkly bathroom. The first day I saw the bathroom it was with a sinking heart as I realised it would be a miracle if I could keep it looking so pretty. So it was straight out to Tesco's to buy supplies!
Mr Muscle Shower Shine was the first thing I picked up for my shower. I was intrigued by their claims that I would 'never have to scrub again'. It also claimed to prevent the build up of limescale, scum and grime which was music to my ears as I hatehatehate those!
The idea is that, with a clean shower, you spray a fine mist over the whole shower (including a curtain if you have one). You should not scrub, rinse or wipe off, just leave it to work its magic! The bottle has an excellent squirter- something I find in common across the whole Mr Muscle range. I'm slightly paranoid about squirters that just drip rather than spray and cover my hand in chemicals, so I was glad this one was appropriate. The bottle is appropriately hand-sized for easy spraying.
As for cleaning power, I only noticed the difference when I stopped using it for a week as I started with a sparkly new shower. I ran out and didn't rebuy the product for a week or so as I wasn't 100% confident it was working. Oh my gosh, it was!!! Within a few days I had limescale, scum and general mank growing all over my shower! I found myself scrubbing the shower everyday when before, with the Mr Muscle, I had just given it a weekly wipe down. I resolved to add Mr Muscle Shower Shine to my regular cleaning products.
Super impressed with the product, then. It doesn't even leave water marks or have a strong smell. Once reintroduced to my cleaning regime, my shower was once again pretty. It has excellent effects for minimal work.
I got Shower Shine from Waitrose just because they had 2 for 3 offer on Mr Muscle products, and I didn't really need the third product. We only have a shower at home with glass door, which I used to clean at least once a week as my husband really enjoys hot and long showers. Combine this with hard water and the lime stone build-up on the glass can make it non-transparent in a week quite easily.
Shower Shine comes in in flat bottle, same as most Mr Muscle cleaners. It's transparent with blue sticker that doesn't give much information, if you need directions to use, ingredients etc. you need to read the same sticker from the opposite side - through the bottle. Fortunately the liquid is transparent as well so it's not a big problem. It has a spray dispenser that can be turned on and off.
Keeping your shower shiny:
When you finish taking the shower, you are supposed to spray the product on all area you would like to keep clean - this includes your tiles, shower head and glass areas. It must not be used on cracked surfaces. No scrubbing, brushing or rinsing - just spray it on and leave. The liquid is clear and has no significant smell, when you spray it on a surface it creates a bit of foam.
What I don't really like is that a rather big amount comes off and is sprayed on quite a small area - having to spray bigger shower/bath, you would probably spend an hour and whole bottle of liquid to cover whole area properly.
Does it work?
Well, yes, sort of. I certainly can see through the glass door all the time, limestone build up is kept on minimum. However, as I mentioned above, the dispensing of the product is not great and I would probably use the whole bottle up in a week if I really sprayed it properly and everywhere (I have only a small shower), plus time-wise it would be kind of inconvenient. Using it on glass door only, there's no need to scrub at all, I just wipe with shower cleaner when I'm cleaning the whole shower and the little limestone that's still there comes off much more easily than before.
I'm probably pathetic, but even if it works 100% as promised I just couldn't live without cleaning my shower properly - would prefer doing it less often though. For this, Shower Shine certainly helps, especially if you have hard water and prefer to do easy and quick job once a day rather than hard and time consuming scrubbing every week, or if you're able to convince your family they should strengthen their grip by spraying the whole area with Shower Shine everytime they take a shower.
I got this as a part of promotion, normal price is around £2.50 - personally I don't think it's a great value, but I'm still willing to pay this to save myself a bit of work...
P.S: Writing the review I got an idea to pour it to different spray bottle, that would make the product just perfect (will try later on and update the review with my findings).
Cleaning a shower is just so tedious. There are so many more nooks and crannies to get into than a bath and you have to make sure it's done properly, as if you let it build up, it is much harder to get it the grime off and under control! I saw this product in Tesco for just under three pounds for 750ml, which seemed a lot of liquid for a very little price. I thought I would give it a go as a daily product to minimise dirt build up.
The product comes in a clear plastic container, which always looks more 'honest' when you can see exactly what you are buying. The liquid is clear and appears to have the consistency of water. The top is a spray nozzle, but not an aerosol, it is one controlled by a trigger. It is shaped perfectly to help your hand grip, and is therefore easy to use with wet hands, without is slipping out of your hand and getting dropped! A quick squeeze of the trigger dispenses an easy amount of liquid over the shower. It is nice and predictable, so you do not end up wasting tons of it.
On each panel of my shower I spray a couple of squirts of this before I get out of the shower. There is no need to wash it off or rub it in, making it a quick and easy five second job. The difficult part, and the only downside I have with this product is that I have to spray tactically. I have to spray one side of my shower, then push that door across then spray the otherside. If I spray the whole shower at once with the doors closed I feel like I could suffocate and faint. I worry about laying on the shower floor all fumed out!
The shower shine does a fantastic job. It keeps the shower clean with minimum effort. The shower still needs it's weekly once over big clean, but there is far less work involved and far less stubborness than without using this.
The shower spray lasted a month. Three pounds a month to make my life easier, is well worth it!
Mr Muscle Shower Shine
This is a great product that will benefit any bathroom with a shower. The main point of using this spray is so that it helps to keep your shower in tip top condition, preventing lime scale build up, water marks, along with preventing soap scum and grime build up. It is meant to be used on a daily basis to keep your shower cleaner for longer. However, by using this I don't find that I can skimp on the elbow grease to keep my shower clean with a good weekly scrub, but it does make it an easier task.
You can buy this product from most supermarkets at a reasonable price, I think I paid around £1.30 for mine from Tesco. A full bottle even after almost daily use needs replaced only about once a month in our household. However, I do think that I probably spray more of this Mr Muscle shower shine spray at any one time than I really need to.
Personally, one of my favourite things about this spray despite its obvious cleaning properties is the fragrance. I love the smell of it, I think I am occasionally a bit too heavy handed with this product because it leaves my bathroom smelling really clean and fresh.
This product is really easy to use, the last person to shower should spray the walls, shower head, shower floor and generally all around. We have a shower cubicle in our en suite and this makes a big difference as the glass enclosure stays looking shinier than it would otherwise.
I really like this product and I would happily recommend that if you haven't already tried this then you should. I have been really happy with this product and the results that it has delivered are great, I think that it has earned a well deserved rating of four stars out of five.
I have used this product for a long time and try to continue using it, mainly as it's a product for the long run rather than the short term to make sure your shower stays in great condition. It can be used to spray everything in your shower from the taps to the metal covered pipe and rails and windows/doors. It works really well by keeping your shower shining and helping to prevent rust, limescale and water marks on it.
The product comes in a 500ml bottle, bought for around £1.30. Sometimes you can get a larger version with 50% extra free, which is always worth buying when on offer! The bottle is clear and there is a handle towards the top, which is shaped well to comfort your hand whilst holding it. This version has a purple nozzle and spray handle as opposed to the other Mr Muscle products.
The front label shows a shower head just above the purple Shower Shine logo. The liquid inside is clear too and of quite a thin viscosity. The shower spray smells really nice and quite sweet. It leaves your shower smelling very fresh. You should apply it after you have had a shower, but it's pointless spraying it if someone else is going to have a shower straight after you. Perhaps the last person to shower of the day should spray this and then it will work best.
You should spray this on quite generously all over the shower including the base and drain, any rails to hold your shower products, any glass/plastic doors or windows, the shower head and pipe and taps. Once sprayed on, you can leave the shower and literally leave it - this is what you are supposed to do. It will do the job itself and leave your shower smelling lovely. It certainly has kept a shine to my shower but what's more important is I couldn't begin to imagine what it may look like if I didn't clean it regularly and use this product!
Overall it's certainly worth buying this as it doesn't cost much. It tends to run out a lot quicker than other Mr Muscle products, which can't be helped if you want to keep your shower looking nice. It certainly works though and is very pleasant and simple to use with a lovely after-smell.
