      Mr Sheen metal wipes

I don't usually buy cleaning wipes as I don't think they are very environmentally friendly or economical to use. However every woman has her price as they say and when I spotted Mr. Sheen specialist wipes for metal, at the knock down price of just 49p(instead of the usual selling price of £2.61)in my local Waitrose I decided to give them a try.

The wipes come in a flat, re-sealable pack containing 24 wipes. The information on the pack informs me that these wipes are suitable for all kinds of metal including chrome and steel. They can be used to clean metal toasters, kettles, taps, bins and cooker hoods in addition to any other metal surface you may have. They promise to remove grime, dust and fingerprints, leaving a brilliant shine. This all sounded good to me and I was keen to put them to the test.

There are instructions on how to use on the pack. The wipes are very easy and convenient to use .The pack has a peel back opening and it is important to ensure you reseal it properly after removing a wipe to ensure the remaining wipes don't dry out. Each wipe is a decent size and feels slightly damp to the touch. The manufactures suggest you test a small area of the metal object you wish to clean before you start. I have to admit I have never bothered to do this! The wipes are a decent size and I find that I only need one wipe to clean my toaster, kettle, taps and bin.

The wipes are used in the same way you would use a duster. Simply polish the area you wish to clean until you achieve a brilliant shine. There is no need to rinse. Once you have finished using the wipe it should be discarded in the bin. They are not flushable, so don't be tempted to put them down the loo! If you use the wipes on any area that comes into contact with food then you should rinse after using the wipe. I couldn't really detect any scent when using the wipes apart from a faint metallic type smell.

I have been using these wipes for several weeks now and have to say I am very impressed with the results they have achieved. My kettle was looking very dull and no matter what I did I couldn't restore that new look shine. However the wipes have performed a real transformation and my kettle now looks almost as good as new! The same can be said for my stainless steel bread bin.

I find the wipes very easy to use and am happy that I need minimum effort to achieve great results. In the past I have had issues with re-sealable packs that don't reseal properly, leaving the contents to dry out. I have had no problems with the packaging in this way and the seal has stayed in tact.

For me, a huge downside is that these wipes can't be re used and are thrown away after use to end up in landfill. They also contain a list of chemicals that I would be happier not to be using! However they do exactly what they promise and for the small price I paid I really have no complaints!

        Will keep searching.

Throughtout our house we seem to have a lot of chrome, bins, door handles, taps, trim on the tiles, bathroom cabinet, bathroom accessories are all chrome. I find it really difficult to clean chrome without it looking smeary and have tried all sorts over the years but to no avail.

I came across Mr Sheen Metal Wipes in Tesco a few months ago and they were on special offer, really cheap about 75p and at that price I just had to give them a go.

Unlike other wipes these are specifically for cleaning chrome and stainless steal. 'To clean, care, shine your metal surfaces'.
The pack I bought contained 36 large wipes and had 50% extra free. The size of the wipes are approximately 3 inch by 6 inch.

The wipes are a quick and convenient way to clean all of your metal surfaces. They are designed to remove dirt, fingerprints and dust off your surfaces leaving them shiny and bright.

After trying them I am really impressed with the results, they do clean the marks off my chrome, leaving them shiny rather than smeary.
I do have to use the wipes quite often as the results are not lasting, but chrome does get dirty easily, you only have to touch it and there are fingerprints all over it.

My only complaint would probably be that the resealable pack doesn't reseal after a while and this results in the top few wipes drying out. There is just a peel back sticky label and when you have opened the pack a few times the label is no longer sticky.

This product is not perfect but so far it is the best I have come across to clean my chrome and I will keep using Mr Sheen wipes until something better turns up.
