I always use some sort of air freshener in my house - I have to - I live with smelly people! The downstairs loo is the place where I hate to visit as it's my husband's favourite room in the house. We have a few different cans of sprays etc for that room and usually my husband (to his credit) will use a room spray if he has left a particularly offending smell behind him, but I really dislike the way a lot of them can be really overpowering and smelly and as they try to mask the small, rather than neutralizing it, it can, in some cases I think, make the smell even worse than it was before.
It's for this very reason that I use a fantastic little product called Neutradol Continuous Deodorizer. This is in a gel format, it lasts for up to three months sand it costs me less than £2 to buy from Wilkinson's. Add to that, the fact that it really does neutralize even the pongiest of smells, and it's really money well spent. I really couldn't do without it.
I also have one of these in the kitchen, underneath the stairs (which is where I keep my dustbin). It's so simple and easy to use and you just screw off the cap, peel off the silver foil and then secret it way somewhere. I hide mine behind the pot plant in the downstairs loo so no-one can see it. It's not one oft those plug-in type air fresheners and not really designed to be on show, as such, but I don't mind hiding it away. It works, and for me, that's all that really matters.
Although it purports to have no smell, I do detect a slight whiff as soon as I take ff the silver foil off from a new jar but this soon fades after a few days and then all I find is that it neutralizes the smell, rather than masking and covering it over with a stronger smell of perfume.
I have a few of these underneath my kitchen sink - enough in fact to last me until about this time next year. They are cheap and so very effective and I would certainly recommend them.
I think most of us like and love a nice smelling home, especially those with young children and pets ( we have none-pets that is! ). Smells of dirty nappies, a boy that doesn't tell you til hours later hes peed all over the floor in the toilet, general food/cooking smells and all the other stuff you expect to smell in a house, is what we go through on a daily basis. This product was bought from my local B & M store for 99p to be put into the downstairs toilet.
Why did I buy this?
This wasn't my first choice in regards to an air freshener. I was actually looking for the refills for an Airwick air freshener I have, but the refills cost more than buying the device so made no sense what so ever! So I was looking for something ideally to help keep the air reasonably fresh and smelling nice, but at a cheap price, and I hoped this would fall into those categories.
How is it packaged?
It comes in a simple small cardboard box, mostly green in colour. On three sides of the box, the look is near identical-it has the brand name at the top, ' Neutradol ' and directly underneath it says this is the worlds no1 deodorizer. It then tells you what the product is, and that's its an improved formula. Underneath the writing theres a picture of the product itself, and in the bottom right hand corner it mentions it lasts 90 days.
On the back it tells you the story of the product, website details and how to use. Also lists afew of the ingredients.
How does it look?
This is made form some form of plastic, white in colour and circular in shape. Too allow this to stand, there is a rim on the bottom ( its apart of the actual product )that provides the air freshener with stability so it can stand.
On the front there is a small flattened circular area with the brand name on the front, surrounded by the colour green and slightly lighter green spots.
When you take the product out of the box, the top is covered in foil, so you have to pull it off to use.
On the top, the air freshener is slightly raised up so has very short sides, and when you look down this ( once foil layer has been removed ) this area is opened. There are 5 almost triangular shapes, going around in a circle, that is cut out of the top and in the centre a circle shape that shows quite a decent area exposed. What you can see underneath these cut out shapes is the air freshener itself which is green in colour, and appears quite jelly like, but more solid. These cut outs allow the vapour from the product to evaporate and and with it being exposed, freshens the air.
This air freshener is 2.5 inches in diameter ( from the widest part ) and 2 ¾ inches high.
How does it smell?
Its not the prettiest fragrance I have ever smelt. It reminds me to a certain degree of some disinfectants out there-clean, fresh, uncomplicated and not too overpowering but very distinctive. Slightly pine in scent, with a touch ( just a touch ) of sweetness to it.
How does it perform?
I placed this in the downstairs toilet. It's the toilet everyone uses, whether it's the kids and I, or visitors, so you can imagine the general traffic is quite high. This is also the area where my noodle mop is kept, so its important to keep this tiny room fresh. Its sat on the window sill, and to be honest, I kept wondering why I couldn't smell anything. Then I kept asking myself 'where is that fresh smell coming from, did I just clean the toilet? '. Nope-it was the air freshener. Its one of those smells that's there and noticeable, but not obvious. It lightly fragrances the air.
Despite this being a toilet, the door is forever open ( unless in use by an adult ). The kids are always running in and out and forgetting to shut the door, when my children are in their using it, I always keep it open because I don't trust them. If this door was closed more often, I think the smell and fragrance would be a little more apparent.
I have noticed the longer this is in use, the lower down the ' jelly ' goes in the product itself, so assuming at some point it will completely disappear. Good indication to know when to throw out and change.
How this would perform in a larger room I don't know, but for me personally, I would keep these in smaller rooms to give the strongest scent. For bigger rooms, I would probably dot afew of these around if needed.
Would I buy these again? Not sure. They definitely make the downstairs toilet smell better and the fragrance is non offensive, but I do like slightly more perfume type smells in the homes, especially when coming up to the autumn and winter months e.g vanillas, fruits smells, frankincense etc. This was a good quick and cheap fix last minute buy, maybe a possible repeat purchase for the future, but would stick to the downstairs toilet and no where else.
Having a small bedroom with a boiler in the corner does not make for ideal natural air-conditioning. Particularly when spending just a small amount of time in my room, with say my laptop on, upon re-entering the room, I would notice a less than pleasant smell lingering!
Thus, my room needed some freshening up and i can't say i am disappointed i chose neutradol. Very reasonably priced, can be bought for just a couple of quid from my local Robert Dyas, and probably cheaper on the net.
Truly lasts for three months, unlike some others I have heard about, and the freshening smell is as strong at the end as in the beginning.
Only criticism is that the smell whilst pleasant is not particularly distinctive. And I have searched for different smelling air fresheners in the neutradol range, but have yet to find one.
Would recommend for a cheap, efficient air freshener
I first bought a Neutradol Gel Odour Destoyer to help keep my families holiday caravan smelling nice when it had been shut up for a while. For security reasons, we could not leave any windows open, and the air vents did not prevent a musty smell developing after a few relatively airless weeks. I chose to buy Neutradol because it didn't need to be plugged in, and costs just £1 in Poundland. I have also used it at home when I have been doing an extended dog sitting session with a flatulent dog! [He had a medical problem which has since been resolved.]
Neutradol comes in various forms such as a spray, but this particular product is a tub of gel. It is designed to destroy smells rather than merely disguise them with scent. I found this idea appealing, as I could leave it to work, without needing to be present to spray more about. I use the original version but there is also apparently a Superfresh scent. However, I have not seen this for sale in my local shops. Neutradol say their formula is unique, and that laboratory tests confirm that their product is the most effective odour destroyer available to buy. What's more, they say that a single tub will work for up to 90 days, providing it is used in temperatures below 20 celsius. These are some claims, so does it live up to them?
The deodorizer comes in a cardboard box which has all of the usage instructions on. The pot of gel itself is about the size of a large apple [or a medium sized jar of Marmite!], and is relatively plain. It is white with a small blue Neutradol logo on one side. It isn't pretty, and to be honest looks exacly like an air freshener, but at least the simple colouring means it doesn't stand out like a sore thumb in a room. The compact size also helps with this.
All that is necessary to prepare it for use is to peal back a foil covering that is over the top of the pot. This reveals a plastic grid, below which is the gel itself. This looks bright blue, and exactly like jelly. The holes in the covering grid are large enough for a child to poke their fingers through, and I have a feeling that the appearance of the product would make it appeal to an inquisitive child. The manufacturers does say that the tub should be kept out of the reach of children, as well as pets. This means you will have to find somewhere high up and inaccessible to place it. I have accidently knocked a pot over, and the gel's thickness meant this wasn't a problem as it was solid enough to remain "behind bars."
DOES IT WORK?
Once I had found somewhere safe to put the tub, I pulled back the foil covering and smelt the gel for the first time. It seemed very strong smelling and I worried that I would find it a bit overpowering. The smell is hard to describe, it reminds me a bit of lillies, mixed with a sporty scented deodorant! Not unpleasant, but not a scent I would chose in a candle or room spray for example. However, the initial strength of the scent fades, and I was only feintly aware of it after a day or two. The perfume may disappear but the deodorizing capabilities thankfully don't. There isn't a immediate removal of smells, and for instant freshness opening windows or spraying a air freshener would no doubt give better results. By the next day though, our caravan was sweet smelling again. I wasn't sure whether this was just as much because we had opened the windows again. The real test was whem we opened the caravan having been away for several weeks. There was no musty aroma, only a mild smell of the deodorizer. At home, it dealt well with the dog's scent, and we noticed the difference between the room we had a Neutadol in and the one that didn't. As for the claims that the gel can work for up to 90 days, I found that the one used in the caravan was gradually becming less effective after about 60 days. It was only when I changed it that I realised how much power it had lost. As I paid only £1, I am not going to complain about this.
WOULD I RECOMMEND THIS?
I think this product works much better than I ever expected it to, and for longer too, even if it didn't make 90 days. It is great value at £1, and lasts longer than a can of air freshner spray would. It just sits there quietly and efficiently doing it's job. The only downside I can see is the extra caution required when using this around children or pets, but I am sure that homes with either of these in permanent residence are used to having items that they need to keep out of reach. I am not a smoker, and nor is my family, so I am not sure how effective it would be if you are. I would only not recommend this if you are looking for a instant solution to a bad smell, as it does take time to work. The effects are then long lasting so it is worth waiting for.
It is available in 99p stores, and Poundworld for a similar low price, and most supermarkets, where you may pay a little more.

Neuatradol Continuous Deodorizer is fantastic alternative to the usual spray or plug in deodorizers you can get and anyone who reads my reviews regularly will know that as a family we are great fans of all sorts of room sprays, deodorizers and cleaning things and have used many different sorts over the years we have been married - some may think we are obsessed, but we are just fans of all things to do with keeping the home clean and fresh and we have unusual hobbies which makes life more interesting!
This cost us just £1.29 from Home Bargains though I think yu will possibly pay more if you buy it from a supermarket. The packaging is 100% recyclable and it will last you for a good ninety days so is worth the money.
We have a few in our house and we put them in the bathroom or anywhere you need to keep the place smellign extra fresh, such as next to the cat's litter tray.
The shape of this looks just like a little jar and it has a piece of foil on the fron which you just peel off and it is ready to do its job of neutralizing nasty smells all round the home. It's important to understand that this does not mask the smell like a room spray will do, but it actually works differently in that it neutralizes the smells, which is my personal opinion is far more effective.Another place we put it is in our shoe cupboard as both me and my other half suffer from chronic foot odour problems and we find this does a great job of masking the semlls in the cupboard very effectively indeed.
The fragrance is light and floral and not at all sickly or sweet and nice and pleasant.
Great product and greatly recommended.

So those who have read my previous review know I have a new Puppy which if course can lead to all sorts of doggy smells not really what I want and so I want to insure that the first thing you smell when entering my home is nothing apart from a clean fresh smell, unless you are coming for Sunday Dinner!!
Whilst shopping for carpet cleaner I picked up a couple of these to put in my hall way.
What are they?
These look like white plastic bulb shaped pots which inside contain a lurid coloured gel you simply peel off the cover which then releases the neutradal.
Cost and stockist
I purchased mine from B&M bargains at a cost of 2 for £1.50 however you can get these from all major supermarkets expect to pay about £1.50 for one.
This little odour destroyer lasts for 3 months and works on killing odours rather than masking them it has a special formula containing over 50 ingredients which break down bad molecules however that is way above my head I didn't really study science! I can say that it does work the odour of Hubby's work boots and puppy is banished instead leaving just a fresh clean smell no heavy rose scents!!
I think as these work so well banishing smells that they are really worth buying as if like me after spending time ensuring your home is clean and tidy you do not want a visitor to your home's first impression to be that it smells of wet dog!
I paid 75p for one of these which works out at 25p per month hardly breaking the bank and in my opinion it is a steal for a product that works so well and even through I am a dedicated bargain hunter I would be willing to pay full price in Tesco!
A great product that banishes unwanted smells from your home
As both my husband and I smoke, I decided I needed an air freshener that was going to be effective enough to rid the place of the awful lingering smell of cigarettes, we have allocated just one room in which we smoke but the smell still gets everywhere. So when I spotted this Neutradol, in Wilkinson's for £1.50 I decided to give it a try.
This deodorizer comes in a little white plastic pot stating clearly on the front of it that it destroys bad odors, I was hoping this would have a big effect in the smoking room, as we call it, as I've tried many sprays which I have found to be useless when trying to eliminate the smell of cigarettes. I know I could get rid of the smell once and for all if we just quit smoking, but that's easier said than done, so for now I will continue on my search for a decent odor eliminator. The room in which I put this deodorizer isn't overly big so I thought this would help, with only having a small area to cover.
The Neutradol doesn't really have a scent as such it's just sort of chemically scented, I can't really describe it but I wasn't really that bothered about the actual smell of it, I just wanted it to work. It reads on the box that the deodorizer will continue to work for up to 90 days. So I decided to put it to the test. From opening the deodorizer to 90 days later and I would see if the effects were the same from start to finish.
At first I could definitely sense a difference in the room when neither of us were smoking in there, the room did smell a bit chemically though, but I figured this was better than cigarette smoke. I must admit I couldn't smell cigarette smoke around the rest of the rooms of the house that much either, so it seemed to be doing a good job so far, as I can always smell the cigarette smoke in the front room when my husband is smoking in the smoking room, but this Neutradol, seemed to help prevent that lingering smoke smell from being as strong as normal. A couple of weeks in and the deodorizer still seemed to be doing quite a good job. I think the effectiveness began to wear off after about four weeks, when I say wore off I mean the smell of cigarettes gradually became more and more obvious. It was in the second month I decided I would have to buy another one, so the 90 days thing I cannot personally believe or maybe it's because cigarette smoke is more difficult to eliminate than other odors, I don't know but still around 2 months it worked for me, so I guess I can say it was worth the money. Like I said I did go out and buy another.
So if your a smoker and wish to find something to eliminate the odor of cigarette smoke, then I can recommend Neutradol it does work for up to 6 to 8 weeks, and if your not a smoker then I guess these would be an even better option for you.
This Neutradol is widely available and only costs around £1.50, I think it's worth it, I'm going to give it 4 stars, knocking one off because it didn't make the 90 days.
Thank you for reading my review which may also be posted on other sites.
~ DO I SMELL? ~
I have a house that is often full of smokers (though we only smoke in a couple of rooms), always full of dog and often full of cooking smells (when I'm feeling productive). I love home fragrance products and use a whole host of them, but gel air fresheners are something I've never had a huge amount of luck with. I had seen these Neutradol fresheners before, but usually passed them by in favour of sprays, carpet freshener powders, reed diffusers and scented oils. However, I decided to give them a try when I found them in my newly opened Poundland over a month ago, and have in fact been really pleased with them.
I bought two, one for downstairs and one for upstairs. They're a great idea for me to use upstairs as I can't use sprays up there due to the animals I keep, the hall carpet is not suitable for using freshener powders and the other rooms have hard floors. I do have a reed diffuser in our bedroom, but that's it. So I had the bathroom in mind for one of these.
We only smoke downstairs, in the kitchen (which is semi pointless as there's no door between the kitchen and the living room!), so I put the other one in the kitchen on top of my stereo right where I am sitting now (and often spend a lot of the day) on the laptop. This is also where I sit and smoke!
~ THE GELS ~
These little gels come in a small white pot and all you do is peel off the top sticker and place wherever you want it. It claims to neutralise odours (as is typical for Neutradol) rather than covering them up, and it also promises to last for 90 days; not "up to" 90 days, but 90 days (on the front of the box that is, the back says "up to" and qualifies this to be the case only in temperatures not exceeding 20C, cheeky beggars!).
The pots are quite small (only around 3" x 3") so I found it easy to find a space for them to sit without interfering with any ornamental stuff. The gel itself is blue, and the pots are full almost to the top with it.
~ BANISHING BAD SMELLS? ~
As soon as I peeled the sticker off, I got a strong hit of Neutradol. They smell the same as the original spray, which although smells very strong at first is very pleasant when it calms down. I put the downstairs one in place first, and planned to put the upstairs one in place once I'd finished the housework up there. So off I went upstairs to do my bits and bobs and a little later when I came out our bedroom, I could smell the one downstairs (I hadn't removed the sticker on the upstairs one yet)! This gave me a lot of hope I must admit.
After I put one in the bathroom, I could smell it throughout the whole upstairs for several weeks. It did get less and less noticeable over time, from smelling it strongly all the time, to getting whiffs, then not registering it at all. This I reckon is also due to the fact your nose stops registering familiar scents so much after a while. However, even when I couldn't really smell the gel, I did not get any bad smells either. The only real smells we get upstairs would be from the rats' litter tray, or from the other half's....erm....behind. And I was happily surprised when I realised I couldn't smell the rats litter tray a few days after putting the gel in place; usually I get a whiff of the litter tray only the next day after changing it, but since it's not a public room of the house I just change the tray every few days. There were also no cheeky lingering smells in the bathroom either (though the bathroom window is open 24/7 - nothing worse than a bathroom with a perpetually closed window).
So upstairs was a success in my book. How about downstairs where the smoke and dog are?
It must be said that I do use other products in conjunction with the gel downstairs. However, due to the success of using the gel upstairs I am confident that it did indeed do a similarly good job downstairs. Sometimes, if I've had the windows shut due to high winds through the night and have popped out in the morning before doing the daily chores, when I come back in I catch a whiff of stale smoke. Despite being a smoker, I do not like this (hence my windows are open as much as possible!) However, when using the gel I do not experience this, so I do not need to get the windows open and get the oil burner on the go while doing the housework (which also includes carpet fresh powder and fabric freshener on the sofa) the way I needed to before. Though I still do these things!
Like upstairs, I could smell it strongly for a while until it faded to my senses, but it was still apparently doing it's neutralising job which is all I ask of it.
~ 90 DAYS - AMBITIOUS OR MODEST? ~
In my experience, ambitious. I find them to be less effective now, about a month and a half since installing them. I could however imagine them perhaps being longer lasting in homes without animals or smokers, as there would be less odours to deal with (assuming of course basic hygiene is in place). But, despite this I am over the moon with them.
~ OVERALL ~
I have been blown away by these gels to be honest. I bought them in Poundland for £1 each obviously, but I have since found them in my newly opened Home Bargains for 75p. Like I said, I have tried gel fresheners before, and found them to be largely ineffective unfortunately. But these ones work brilliantly! I had hoped they would as I do trust Neutradol to be effective; so to my reasoning if there's a gel freshener out there that will work Neutradol will be it. Thankfully I wasn't disappointed. As such I am giving these an enthusiastic recommendation and a full 5 stars, as well as a permanent place in my smoky, doggy home.
=== The product ===
This is a neutralising gel that is designed to get rid of bad odours.
=== The packaging
This neutradol freshener comes provided in a cardboard box. The packaging is simple but eye catching on the shelf and is recyclable. The freshener itself comes provided in a white plastic pot that is quite small, there is a tab to pull off once you are ready to use the freshener and this obviously prevents the freshener from running out while it is in the supermarket waiting to be purchased. Inside this pot there is a blue gel that provided the freshening scent.
=== How to use this ===
Ours is used in our kitchen. It is placed on the floor just next to the bin which is also close to the main litter tray that Izzy uses.
=== Does this work? ===
Yes! I use litter tray fresheners but these are not always effective. I have noticed a marked improvement in scents from the litter tray and my rubbish bin since I have been using this. The size is very reasonable so I can just dot it around wherever I want to and if I notice a pong in the hallway outside our home I am able to place this out there for a day or two and this will quickly deal with bad odours.
My husband is a smoker and he smokes in the same room that has the bin & litter tray in. I will not say that I could not notice any cigarette smells at all but the strength was definitely reduced and replaced with a slight chemical scent, not overpowering but not exactly a deliciously fresh scent either.
=== Where can I buy this from & for how much? ===
This can be purchased from numerous supermarkets and I purchased mine from Wilkinsons and paid 99p when it was on promotion. I believe that the normal price is around £1.59 from Wilkinsons. This is also available from Tesco stores or www.tesco.co.uk for £1.50 and that is the normal price (August 2011).
=== Overall opinion ===
This gel is stated as lasting for 90 days and while the actual block of gel would probably last for 90 days I do not think that it lasts as a deodorizer for 90 days, more like 45 which is still very reasonable.
I could notice a difference, quite a difference, when this was placed by the bin & litter tray area as there was a remarkable improvement in the smells that I was picking up. I seem to have quite a sensitive sense of smell, quite unlike my husband who smokes, and it is mainly for me that I buy gels and fresheners. Also, I do not want to worry when guests are coming round that there is going to be a nasty smell in my home that I have become accustomed to over the course of the day. This is a great way for me to feel confident about people coming in to our home.
I am disappointed that the deodorising property of this girl does not last as long as it is stated but the results from using this are very good and I would definitely purchase this again in the future. The size is ideal and it works well at neutralising bad smells which is good enough for me.
I have 2 dogs (large ones) and a lizard, not to mention the husband and toddler who roam the house we all live in together. I am quite a house proud person and am very conscious of the unpleasent odour that dogs especially. I have always strived for people to be able to come in our house and not know we had 2 strapping pooches until they clapped eyes on the, so as you can imagine, i have tried my fair share of air freshners etc..
Neutradol claim to be the numbers 1 worlds provider and have several products on the market, for both car and home. I thought i would try the gel option and have bought both 'super fresh' and 'original' priced at a bargain £1 each in my local pound store.
Neutradol claim that it 'does not just mask unwanted smells like ordinary air fresheners, it destroys all bad odours, even the most persistent, leaving the air fresh and clean. Its formula, high technology / performance led, contains over 50 ingredients and their complex combination breaks down the bad odour molecules and eliminates them. Neutradol is hygienic, non-toxic and is safe for use in the home and office'. I have to admit, the very mentioning of 'over 50 ingredients' says to me that i wouldnt want my toddler laying little fingers in it, whether it is 'non toxic' or not!
As previously mentioned the Gel formulation comes in 2 varieties, both original which is famed for its blue packaging, and superfresh in a grassy green colour. Both of these claim to be odour destroyers and come packaged in cardboard boxes with the labelling and a picture of what to expect inside around the edging.
Once in the packaging, you will find a white plastic bulbous pot with a foil lid that needs to be pulled off, a little like a yoghurt! Once this is done, the gel can be seen through the top which has a kind of plastic mesh (very loose terminology i know), so that the the gels fragrance can waft through but not so littlel fingers can start manhandling the gel inside. The labelling on the fresner is minimal, with a small circular sticker with the neutradol logo on. In my opinion, the packaging being of a white plastic emilates that fact that this air freshner is clean and fresh and crisp, all the things we think when products seem pure and white.
The freshner can be placed pretty much anywhere and is then left to do its thing. Neutradol claim that it it can last for 3 months, and i have had mine 2 now, with a little less than half the gel remaining. When i first bought it, i expected it to give off fragrence the whole time, but to be fair it doesnt claim to be an air freshner as such, more an odour eliminator, and i feel that it does this job. When first opened, there is a fragrence that is a little chemical, but fresh none the less. If you are expecting fruity or a nice vanillary type of aroma you will be dissapointed, this is almost industrial cleaning type. I personally quite like it, but then i love the smell of bleach too, anything that semlls clean is a plus in my book!
I have found that, by giving the pot a shake from time to time, it releases some of the aroma which will last a good hour or two.
In reality, this 'odour destroyer' is a good quality product that is widely available in most supermarkets, and budget shops too clearly. I am not sure i would pay £2+ which i have seen, but certainly for £1, it freshens the air in the 2 main living areas in my house. 4/5 for me. 1 star knocked off, purely because a constant aroma of freshner is not evident!
Thankyou for reading, some of the earlier information was taken from www.neutradol.com
Neutradol is a product that I have been aware of for some time, but never actually tried until recently. Neutradol was the first "odour destroyer" type of air freshener commercially available, and since then the market has been flooded with similar products, but Neutradol remains the original, and possibly the best. The company make quite a few different products, including products for the car, products for the carpet, kitchen, bathroom, and fabrics, but the product I am going to review is the room gel, pictured above. This is probably the most familiar Neutradol product to most people.
Neutradol room gel is available in two fragrances: original and super fresh. The original gel is blue and the super fresh is a very bright green colour. The gel comes in a small circular white plastic container, which comes in a cardboard box. The product is surprisingly small and perfect for popping in a corner of the room where it won't be noticed. When you get the product out of the box, it has a plastic peel off lid, that you simply remove to start the product working. If you look inside the container, you will see a thick mass of what looks like "alien ooze". The gel has a very pleasant and fresh smell, which is not at all overpowering. After all, the job of the product is to neutralise the odours rather than masking them with scent.
Once you have opened the container, you just pop it in a corner or on a shelf and let it do it's stuff. The box states that it will work for 3 months, but in my opinion, that is quite a conservative estimate, and I have had mine for longer than that and it is still working and still has some gel left in the bottom. Once the gel is gone completely, I can recycle the plastic container. Neutradol has several advantages over other air fresheners available. I have tried other "gel type" fresheners, but they usually dry up and stop working after a few weeks. Not great value when you compare it with Neurtadol, which always has moist gel which constantly releases gentle fragrance and neutralises smells. It is also cheaper than most air fresheners, requiring no refills or plugging in.
I use one in our downstairs loo, which is enclosed with no window, a potentially smelly area indeed! I pop it on the shelf behind the loo where the kid's can't get to it and it is amazingly effective. If someone (not me obviously!) does a smelly poo, the Neutradol will have the room smelling fresh within about 10-15 minutes. The loo always smells nice when you go in there and this is amazing, as my young son has a habit of missing the loo when he does a pee, but the room doesn't smell of stale wee!
One of these fresheners costs just under £2 from Wilko's, which I think is brilliant value, as this is a superb and effective product. I have tried it out in larger areas, such as my living room, and it worked just as well in there. It is also really good in the cupboard under the sink, which is where I store the litter tray and cat things, but again, the odours are completely neutralised.
This is a perfect product for families with kids or pets, or for people with areas that are likely to get a bit whiffy, like kitchens, bathrooms, cloakrooms and downstairs loos. They would be great for a teenager's bedroom! As they cost £2 for 3 months, you only need to buy 4 of these a year, which is great.
I just wish I hadn't left it so long before I discovered this product. It really is fantastic and gives you confidence that your house smells gorgeous when people come to your home to socialise or visit.
Me and my twins live in a 3 floor town house, and every single room gets used and is quite often smelling of some sort of odour from my twins doing something or another. The one floor everybody gets to see or smell though is my bottom floor so I like to try and keep it smelling fresh and clean, one of the things which helps is air fresheners I tend to buy gel ones and put them right by my front door so it's the first thing that catches your nose as you walk into my house.
The other day whilst in the Range I decided I needed a new one and I came across the Neutradol Gel Odour Destroyer, not your typical gel air freshener. I'd used Neutradol products before and have to admit they've been really impressive so I decided to give this one a try. I actually bought the super fresh version which comes in a green coloured box.
The box informs us that this product 'Banishes bad smells leaving fresh clean air'. Just what I needed!
This Gel Odour Destroyer comes in a white plastic ball shaped 'jar' with a flat bottom so that it stands freely and a wider top which has a peel off film. You need to peel off this film to reveal the holes within the top surface where you can see the gel substance inside. There is a strong scent to begin with when you first peel off the film, clean, refreshing, certainly different to your 'spring fresh' and 'vanilla' air fresheners, this one had more depth to it.
I was a little sceptical about it, I mean could this ball of gel stuff actually banish bad odours. I was soon to find out. Seeing as my kitchen is right by my front door I can quite often open my door and still smell last nights stew, or the onions that I cooked, even fags from people who have come in and smoked near my back door. However when using this I find the smells are gone rapidly. Instead of opening my front door and smelling odours that are lingering it just smells clean, fresh. I can't smell an air freshener as such but this definitely seems to get rid of any unwanted smells, especially that fags stick, yuck!
This is a cheap little product that can be bought for just 99p, and the box states that it lasts for up to 90 days however I don't think I've ever left them that long before changing them over, perhaps about 4 weeks or so at the most. Yet for that amount of time my house remains odour free near enough after cooking or when somebody comes and infests my house with smoke. It is definitely an effective and cheap alternative to some gel air fresheners (which half the time don't freshen air at all), plug in's (which cost you in electricity) or even spray air fresheners. It, to me seems more environmentally friendly than the majority or air freshening products that you can buy today and it definitely works. I can definitely reccomend!
We recently got a new puppy and I am very anxious to not have a house that smells like dog. There is nothing worse than walking into someones house and the first smell you can smell is dog, that ingrained wet dog kind of smell that also sticks to their clothes and furniture etc.
I was looking for an airfreshener that just didn't mask the smell but helped to deodorize the smell and get rid of it completely whilst also making my home smell nice and fresh and clean. During a recent rip to Wilkinson's I came across Neutradol which has an active deodorizing formula and destroys bad odours so I thought it was worth a try.
Neutradol is the World's No 1 deodorizer and is a gel odour destroyer. On the back of the box there is s short description of the Neutradol story. Apparently it was the first odour destroyer to be introduced to the air freshener market and its unique formula has not been equaled. Years after its launch, as laboratory tests confirm, it is still the best odour destroyer available on the market.
The deodorizer is not the prettiest air freshener on the market you can buy but then I am not buying it to look good, I am buying it to do a job. I have placed it behind a photo frame in the kitchen so the look is no issue to me. It is basically a white plastic bulb shape with a green gel inside of it. The top of the deodorizer had a peel off lid that was like a metal yogurt top lid. You basically just peel this off to expose the gel and to let the fragrance come through. The smell of this deodorizer is super fresh and to me it has a somewhat pleasant smell which is not too overpowering and doesn't make your room smell artificial which is nice.
After a weeks use of this I have to say that I do think it is working. I have asked friends who come to my house to see if the house smell and they say no (I'm sure they're telling me the truth) so overall I am happy with this product.
The gel is supposed to last 90 days after which time you have to replace the whole unit. This is not a big issue as I purchased this for just £1.98 in Wilkinsons so if I get three months use out of it I will be happy.
Neutradol odour neutralizer...This one is an alternative to aerosols and plug ins.
The box: The box is very small and compact in blue red and white the product name is in white and it pops out at you..To get the product out of the box you just open the packaging and remove it..The packaging is 100% recyclable
Inside the box is a small white plastic jar that has the Neutradol label in a elliptical shape prominently displayed at the front, there is a foil cover with an easy opening tab on the top which you pull off when you are ready to use the product..
Inside of the plastic container is a gel like substance that has a pleasant fragrance,In the case of the Blue packaged box the gel is blue...after opening the product just place it whee ever you feel there is a need for this odour neutralizer..
What does it do:
Neutradol actually does what it says on the box, it neutralizes odours,It is small enough to place anywhere that you may need it , by a pet bed,or near an ashtray ( if you have a smoker come to visit)
Effectiveness...This product is very effective one small plastic container can last up to 90 days, although I would personally replace it once a month for the optimum benefit.
Price... well I was quite shocked to see it being advertised at £2,49..Boots stock it at £0.99p and most retail supermarkets are around the same price. It' a good buy.
I bought this as an alternative to sprays or plug ins and it has been a best find for me..It really does do what it says and neutralizes odours. One of the better environmentally friendly products on the market.
I have recently decided that my life would be incomplete without the gorgeous Persian cross tabby kitten that I saw in my local pet shop.
Taking my bundle of fluff home I was sure he would settle in without any problems...how wrong could I be!?!
Dude (the kids named him), has decided to be offended by the litter tray and would rather poop behind the sofa or the television and I have therefore had problems with nasty whiffs that I really wanted to get rid of.
I went on the hunt for something to use either directly on the affected areas or something that would do a job of getting rid of the general smell around the house. I vaguely remember my grandmother using something called Neutradol as it didn't just cover the smell it was something clever that actually got rid of the odour.
Seeing the blue and white box with Neutradol written on it I decided to give it a go. The type I bought was a gel odour destroyer which is a small round pot full of blue gel, it claims to last 90 days, I have had it for about a month (the cat still not using the litter tray more than 60% of the time!) and it's still going strong.
The pot itself is white plastic and has a lattice top so you can see but not touch the gel. It is not a very pretty pot, but as it says to keep away from pets and children I have to hide it in a high up place anyway, so looks is not important for me!
I bought mine from Tesco I think for around £1.50 but have since seen them for about 80p in places like Wilkinsons so it's worth looking around for the best price, I will be buying mine in Wilko's in future!
It's quite difficult to describe the smell of this product, if you have ever smelt it you would recognise it straight away, it's certainly the same smell I remember from my grandmothers house from years ago! When you first open it, which involves peeling off a foil seal, the smell is a little overpowering; it's a clean smell but quite a chemical quality to it. This should not be a surprise as it does state on the packaging that it has over 50 ingredients in it. However it does calm down a bit after a week and to be honest it's nice to walk into the house and be greeted by the smell of this rather than cat poo!
I have been happy with it getting rid of the smells in the house and will definitely be buying another one when this one runs out as even when the cat is fully house trained it will still stop the smell of the litter tray wafting around the whole house.
I did use this pot in the small utility room that had a lingering smell even though it has been fully cleaned and within about 4 hours I was able to move the pot somewhere else as the room smelt very strong of Neutradol, and I am pleased to report that the room now smells very fresh indeed!
They do another fragrance in the range which is in green coloured packaging, I think it's labelled as super fresh and I may give this one a go next just to have a change, I know I can go back to the original smell if I don't like it.
