Advantages: Easy, Doesn't smell, Works!
Disadvantages: Needs leaving overnight
Just after getting my oven I spilt food on the bottom, I tried several cleaners and couldn't remove it so it spent nearly 2 years getting worse. As I've never had great success with any oven cleaner, I decided to try a different one this time and went for Oven Pride. I was hoping to clean the general splatters of grease and food from the oven but did not have much hope for the badly burnt on stain.
Application was easy and the product did not smell strongly. I placed the grill pan and rack, two shelves and the shelf holders into the bag although the instructions do say not to put more than two items in. I added approximately 2/3 of the bottle to the bag and sealed it. I poured the rest of the solution onto the oven floor and used a cloth to wipe it on the walls and inside of the door. The rubber gloves that come with the pack were good quality but a little short considering that stretching within the oven is required to use the product, I did get a few drops of the solution on my skin further up my arms but it did not cause any irritation.
After applying the solution I then went back and turned the bag several times over the next few hours. As I had put so much in it I was concerned that it wouldn't all be coated. I then left it over night.
The next morning I wiped the solution from inside the oven with a few cheap dish clothes and threw them away. I was quite shocked at how easily the dirt, including the bad bit at the bottom, just wiped off. After wiping it down with soapy water and then clean water, the oven was nice and shiney and the glass in the door was again clear. The only issue is that the dirt near the door seals and heating element now look worse in comparison as I didn't want to risk getting the solution on them.
The items out of the bag took a little more effort to remove the dirt from but much less than with other products I have used. I expect that they would have been easier if I had followed the instructions reguarding the amount to put in the bag as they would then have been sat in the solution rather than just having a thin coating on them. They too are now nice and shiny however and my oven now stands out as being too clean for my kitchen rather than the opposite.
Overall a great product that is easy to use and produces much better results than the competing brands that I have tried.
Summary: Best oven cleaner I have used.
