We have been using some Persil washing up liquid lately, instead of our usual Fairy Liquid. This is called Persil and I wasn't even aware that Persil did a washing up liquid until my dear other half brought this home with her from the supermarket. It's normally £1.30 for 500ml but this was only 99p as it was on an offer so she snapped it up, like the good little housewife she is.

This comes in different aromas but the one she picked for us is Lemon Burst. I am not a great fan of the smell of lemons in a washing up liquid but I have to say that this one is far preferable to the lemon scented washing up liquid that Fairy makes. This is less astringent and far kinder on the hands and the smell of lemons also doesn't smell so industrialized either.

The bottle is green plastic and square shaped and it has a red top. It is fairly concentrated, as washing up liquids go and it does a great job of cleaning all the dishes - even those heavily soiled pots and pans with dried on food debris. Only a little soaking is required and we find that the food just scrapes off with very little effort. We do have a dishwasher but my dear other half will often say she prefers to wash the dishes by hand and I let her do this as it keeps her happy.

This washing up liquid makes a great deal of bubbles from just the smallest of squirts and a little bit goes a very long way indeed. One bottle of this has lasted us for a good couple of months, so it is obviously very cost effective. It smells fresh and it is kind to my overly sensitive hands and does not bring me out in hives or a rash.

Overall, a great little washing up liquid from Persil and definitely recommended.
